Have you always wanted to visit the Christmas markets in Europe? I love Christmas and this trip has always been on my bucket list! I just got back from this trip with a fabulous group. It was over the top fun! It was everything I’d dreamed of and so much more! My group absolutely loved it!

 

I’ve planned another AMAZING trip to Europe next December 2024! Join me for this trip of a lifetime! We’ll visit some of the most famous and beautiful Christmas markets in the world!

 
 

European Christmas Market Trip Highlights

 
  • We’ll visit some of the most famous and authentic Christmas markets in Europe. In all, we’ll hit a bunch of different Christmas markets in Germany, and we’ll visit and explore the beautiful city and Christmas markets of Prague too! We’ll visit 5 different cities in Europe and each town has multiple Christkindlmarkts!
 
  • We’ll shop for handmade Christmas ornaments and unique and beautiful holiday gifts you won’t be able to find anywhere else.
 
  • We’ll enjoy live holiday music!
 
  • Then there’s the food! The food at the European Christmas markets will be AMAZING! Bring on freshly grilled sausages, salmon grilled over an open fire, German breads and giant pretzels, and loads of homemade Christmas cookies, candies, and sweet treats!
 
  • Don’t forget the warm mulled German wine called Gluehwein . It’s so delicious and will keep you nice and toasty while exploring the Christkindlmarket. It’s so fun to collect the different authentic wine mugs from each market.
 

Trip Dates

I’ve timed this trip so that we’ll be back in plenty of time before the holiday season gets into full swing back at home.

We’ll fly out to Munich, Germany Friday, December 6, 2024. We’ll spend spend eight (8) fun-filled nights in Europe, flying out of Prague and getting home Sunday, December 15th.

I’ve worked hard to make this trip a super good value! This can normally be a very expensive trip. Not mine! I’ve worked really hard to negotiate a great deal with so much included!

 

What To Expect

On this trip, you’ll see lots more Christmas markets than most tours! Munich alone has 16 different Christmas markets!

 

We’ll stay in wonderful hotels in great locations so we can easily walk to explore the Christmas markets.

 

We’ll eat amazing food! You’ll get a big beautiful delicious breakfast every morning at our hotels. The breakfasts are AMAZING !

I’ve planned a very special HUGE German welcome lunch with wine and beer in Munich!

I’ve also planned a pub crawl our 2nd day with beer and wine and another big delicious Bavarian meal in Munich.

 

We’ll enjoy a guided food and walking tour in Nuremberg. We’ll also have a Christmas party with beer and wine in Nuremberg too.

We’ll have lots of free time to shop and explore on your own but we’ll also have fun meals together! We’ll have a delicious German welcome lunch in Dresden and a guided walking tour after lunch.

In Prague we’ll have a guided walking city tour to see the Palace the Royal way and all the beautiful sights.

On our last day, we’ll take a gorgeous night-time river cruise to see gorgeous Prague at night. It’s stunning! After that, we’ll enjoy a magical farewell dinner with drinks, live music, and entertainment! It’s an AMAZING night!

  • Day 1 (Saturday, December 7):

    • Arrive in Munich and meet the rest of your group and your tour guide.
    • Welcome lunch at local Brauhaus
    • Tour orientation of Munich's Christmas Market (Christkindlmarkt/Kripperlmarkt)

  • Day 2 (Sunday, December 8):

    • Breakfast at hotel
    • Walking food and pub tour of Munich with local guide
    • Tour of local Christmas markets (different ones than day before) 
 
  • Day 3 (Monday, December 9):
    • Breakfast at hotel
    • Transfer to Regensburg
    • Time to explore the Christmas markets of Regensburg
 
  • Day 4 (Tuesday, December 10):
    • Breakfast at hotel
    • Transfer to Nuremburg
    • Evening on your own to explore the Nuremburg Christmas Market 
 
  • Day 5 (Wednesday, December 11):
    • Breakfast at hotel
    • Guided walking food history tour of Nuremburg - Learn about the 14th century origins of the city's famous Nurnberger Roastbratwurst
    • Tasting of sausage, gingerbread, and beer
    • Free to explore Christmas Market on your own
    • Ugly sweater party with food, beer, and wine
 
  • Day 6 (Thursday, December 12)
    • Breakfast at hotel
    • Transfer to Dresden
    • Lunch at local restaurant
    • Guided tour of Dresden Christmas Market
 
  • Day 7 (Friday, December 13)
    • Breakfast at hotel
    • Departure to Prague
    • Guided panoramic tour of Prague followed by an overview of the Christmas Market
    • Explore the Christmas Market on your own
 
  • Day 8 (Saturday, December 14)
    • Breakfast at hotel
    • Free day to explore Prague and Christmas Market
    • River cruise in Prague
    • Dinner at local venue with Folklore show
 
  • Day 9 (Sunday, December 15)
    • Transfer to Prague airport to fly home

  • Luggage allowance on ground transportation is based on one standard sized suitcase and one small carry-on per personal. Additional luggage must be arranged in advance, fees may apply

  • Applicable taxes & fees in force at time of confirmation. Changes, including per person city taxes, coach permit fees, etc., taking effect after confirmation may result in a supplement added to your final prices. 
  • We can book your transfers from Munich airport to the hotel, but they will be an extra cost. You have the choice for us to book your transfers or take an Uber or Taxi.

What's not included:

  • Flights
    • Flights can be purchased directly with the airline. I will send out information on the flights Amy and Hoyt will be on, and you can call the airline directly to book the same flight.
  • Transfers: We can book your transfers from Munich airport to the hotel, but they will be an extra cost. You have the choice for us to book your transfers or take an Uber or Taxi.
  • Travel Insurance - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! You will have the option to purchase when signing up for the trip.
  • Meals, unless listed in your itinerary
  • Tips for drivers, guides and other services (A tipping guide will be included in your itinerary)
  • Supplements or optional tours as listed
  • Visa, passport, and entry/exit fees
 
 
IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Czech Republic requires proof of medical insurance that will cover you in their country. Per the U.S. State Department:

“You must also carry proof of a valid medical insurance policy contracted for payment of all costs for hospitalization and medical treatment while in the Czech Republic.”

Your regular medical insurance may not be sufficient and you will need to confirm this. Travel insurance purchased through Rose Travel will be sufficient, or you may purchase travel insurance on your own.

 

Cancellation policy

Cancellation of travel must be made in writing and is effective from the date we receive the written notification. Any trip deposit or payment is non-refundable.  Rose Travel and The Cooking Mom's Culinary Vacations incur costs with the suppliers of your trip well in advance of your departure date. At the effective date of cancellation all overdue payments will be required, any additional payments will not be required.  We highly recommend trip insurance and is available for purchase at booking.
