The Hunter Valley is Australia’s oldest commercial wine producing district established over 150 years ago with over 7000 acres under vine. It is credited with being one of the finest wine growing regions in the world. Two of its most famous wine styles are the Semillon (often called Hunter Riesling) and the Shiraz (Hermitage or Burgundy).

The Lower Hunter wine region has a well deserved reputation for Chardonnay, Shiraz, Semillon and the earthy Pinot Noirs. Departing Sydney, travel over the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the north shore via the Gore Hill Freeway to join the Pacific Highway. Join the F3 Freeway to cross the Hawkesbury River at Brooklyn. This area is renowned as a premier oyster-growing district. Continue into the Lower Hunter Valley and travel the Broke Road passing famous names including Tyrrells Winery. With more than 70 regional wineries, the Hunter Valley boasts both tiny, boutique wineries and larger wine producers. During the day there will be an opportunity to taste a selection of local wines. In the afternoon travel to Pokolbin Village for a short afternoon tea stop (at own expense) before returning to Sydney via Cessnock and the Freemans Water Hole. Continue along the F3 Freeway to Sydney’s north shore and back to the hotel.

The mountains are a natural wonderland of untamed bush, spectacular rock formations and native wildlife. This is one of the most spectacular and captivating wilderness parks in the country, and a supreme example of Australia’s diversity.

Leura is a little town made up of cafes, craft shops, art galleries, tea houses and quant boutiques. It is situated at the edge of the Blue Mountain National Park and has magnificent views of Mt Solitary.

Continue along Cliff Drive to Echo Point to view the world famous "Three Sisters".

Perched on the edge of the escarpment, Echo Point precinct provides panoramic views of the southern Blue Mountains, Kanangra-Boyd Wilderness and the iconic Three Sisters rock formation from a variety of lookouts.
