All passengers must be 16 years of age or older at the time of departure to travel on this tour.
You MUST have a valid passport to book this trip.  Your passport will need to be valid through May 31, 2027 with two blank pages.
You will have to complete passport information and attach a photo of your passport to book this trip.
(If your passport will expire before then, you may still book, but are required to renew prior to travel dates - please be mindful of potential passport processing delays. If you do not have a passport and plan to obtain one, please use characters "X" and "0" for information. Understand that failure to secure a passport for travel will not entitle you to a refund and you will forfeit any deposits according to the cancellation policy outlined below).
 
International flights (to and from Ghana are not included in this price. You will need to book your flights separately. Flight schedules will be released in or around January 2026. Recommendations for flights will follow approximately 6 months prior to travel.)
 
The price includes your airport transfers, lodging, meals (as indicated by the itinerary), transfers throughout, tours and guides as indicated. 
 
Prices are per person, based on double occupancy and single occupancy prices are available by selecting ONE traveler on next page.
 
If you are booking for two, YOU MUST HAVE ALL INFORMATION FOR BOTH TRAVELERS IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THIS BOOKING ONLINE.

If you plan to travel and would like assistance with being matched with a roommate, please contact us directly.
If you do not have a roommate and choose to be matched, your reservation will not be secured until both parties have agreed to roommate match. 
Do not book single occupancy rate unless you plan to room alone for all portions of the trip.

  • Day 1 – 11/21/26 – Arrival - Accra
  • Day 2 – 11/22/26 – Spend the day visiting Dubois Centre, National Cultural Center, Independence Square, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and enjoy Accra nightlife. Accommodation in Accra 
  • Day 3 – 11/23/26 – Depart for Akosombo. Visit Shai Hills Reserve and Krobo Family Bead. Cruise on the Volta River. Accommodation in Akosombo 
  • Day 4 – 11/24/26 – Depart for Kumasi, Visit to the Ashanti Traditional Buildings. Experience Kumasi Nightlife. Accommodation in Kumasi 
  • Day 5 - 11/25/26 – Visit Manhyia Palace, Ancient Kente and Adinkra Villages. Accommodation in Kumasi 
  • Day 6 – 11/26/26 – Depart for Cape Coast; Visit to the Assin Manso Slave River. Visit the Cape Coast Castle and drive to Elmina to visit the Posuban Shrine, Colonial Building, Fish market and return to our hotel. Accommodation in Cape Coast
  • Day 7 – 11/27/26 – Visit Kakum National Park and experience a Traditional Naming Ceremony and depart for Accra. Accommodation in Accra

Itinerary:

Day 1 – November 21, 2026 | Arrival in Accra

Welcome to Ghana! Upon arrival at Kotoka International Airport, you will be greeted with a warm Akwaaba (welcome) and transferred to your hotel in Accra. Enjoy a relaxed evening settling in, taking in the vibrant atmosphere, or strolling along Labadi Beach. Overnight stay at Labadi Beach Hotel.

Day 2 – November 22, 2026 | Exploring Accra’s Landmarks & Nightlife

Begin your journey through Ghana’s history and culture with visits to:

  • W.E.B. DuBois Centre – Learn about the legacy of this influential Pan-Africanist.
  • National Cultural Center – Explore authentic Ghanaian crafts and artwork.
  • Independence Square – Stand in the heart of Ghana’s national pride.
  • Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park – Honor the first President of Ghana and the country’s journey to independence.

In the evening, experience Accra’s lively nightlife, with the option to visit a local lounge, enjoy live music, or dine at one of the city's top restaurants. Overnight stay at Labadi Beach Hotel.

Day 3 – November 23, 2026 | Akosombo & Volta River Cruise

Depart Accra for the serene town of Akosombo, nestled along the Volta River. En route, visit:

  • Shai Hills Reserve – Encounter baboons, antelopes, and caves with ancient rock paintings.
  • Krobo Family Bead Workshop – Witness the intricate craftsmanship of Krobo bead-making, a centuries-old tradition.

Arriving in Akosombo, unwind with a scenic Volta River cruise, soaking in breathtaking views of Ghana’s largest lake. Overnight stay at Royal Senchi Hotel.

Day 4 – November 24, 2026 | Journey to Kumasi & Ashanti Heritage

Depart for Kumasi, the cultural capital of Ghana. Along the way, stop at:

  • Ashanti Traditional Buildings (UNESCO Heritage Site) – Explore the beautifully preserved structures showcasing Ashanti architecture and spirituality.

Upon arrival in Kumasi, settle in and later immerse yourself in the city's nightlife, perhaps enjoying local cuisine or a traditional cultural performance. Overnight stay at Oak Plaza Suite.

Day 5 – November 25, 2026 | Ashanti Royal Heritage & Craft Villages

Spend the day discovering the rich traditions of the Ashanti Kingdom:

  • Manhyia Palace Museum – Learn about the Ashanti monarchy and its significance.
  • Ancient Kente Weaving Village (Bonwire) – Watch master weavers create Ghana’s famous Kente cloth.
  • Adinkra Village (Ntonso) – Participate in an Adinkra stamping workshop and understand the symbolic meanings behind these intricate patterns.

Overnight stay at Oak Plaza Suite.

Day 6 – November 26, 2026 | Cape Coast’s Painful Past & Vibrant Culture

Travel to Cape Coast, stopping en route at:

  • Assin Manso Slave River – A solemn place where enslaved Africans took their last bath before being shipped abroad.

On arrival, visit:

  • Cape Coast Castle – Walk through the dungeons of this UNESCO World Heritage site, a sobering reminder of the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
  • Elmina’s Posuban Shrine, Colonial Buildings & Fish Market – Explore Ghana’s oldest town, filled with vibrant fishing culture and historical sites.

Overnight stay at Lemon Beach Resort.

Day 7 – November 27, 2026 | Kakum Canopy Walk & Traditional Naming Ceremony

Begin the day with an exhilarating visit to Kakum National Park, where you can:

  • Walk across the Canopy Walkway, suspended 130 feet above the forest floor.
  • Learn about the unique flora and fauna of this tropical rainforest.

Later, take part in a Traditional Naming Ceremony, where you will be given an Akan name in a moving cultural experience that connects you to your ancestral roots. Return to Accra for the night. Overnight stay at Labadi Beach Hotel.

Day 8 – November 28, 2026 | Departure

After breakfast, enjoy some last-minute shopping or sightseeing (time permitting) before your transfer to Kotoka International Airport for your departure, carrying cherished memories of your Ghanaian homecoming.

Please note that while it is extremely rare, multiple factors can necessitate altering the plans. Hotel changes may be necessary. We try our best to adhere to the outlined itinerary and accommodations.  We will be accompanied and escorted by local guides who will assess any changing or dynamic situations and make the necessary adjustments. Unless there are major components of the trip omitted, you are not entitled to a refund due to itinerary changes as a result of unpredictable changes or unforeseen circumstances.

 

 

Cancellation policy:

Please read carefully and entirely before booking as our payment policies and procedures have changed. Our updated payment terms can be found here.


DEPOSIT SCHEDULE:
Deposit schedules will generally follow the following rules, except where outlined in the specific trip terms:
Trip Launch - Deposit
270 days prior to travel - at least 25% of total trip cost due
180 days prior to travel - at least 50% of total trip cost due
120 days prior to travel - at least 75% of total trip cost due
90 days prior to travel - 100% of total trip cost due

CANCELLLATION PENALTIES:
Cancellation penalty policy will generally follow the following rules, except where outlined in the specific trip terms: If your cancellation request is received
Deposit is non-refundable
>365 days before travel - 0% penalty above deposit
365 - 180 days before travel - 25% penalty
180 - 120 days before travel - 50% penalty
120 - 90 days before travel - 75% penalty
< 90 days before travel - 100% penalty

 

If you have or have been matched with a roommate: If your roommate is no longer able to travel and cancels his/her trip, you will be responsible for the single occupancy price or you will also need to cancel your trip and penalties will be subject to cancellation policy listed above. 
 
Guaranteed Departures Policy:
This trip requires a minimum size of 10 travelers. Trip may be subject to cancellation should that goal not be met by November 30, 2025. If trip is cancelled because minimum travel requirement is not met, All deposits will be refunded.
