Itinerary:

  • Day 1 (Accra): Arrive in Accra and get transferred to Labadi Beach Hotel (or similar)
  • Day 2: Sightseeing: Tour of the century old capital of Ghana, Accra - Dubois Center, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and museum, Osu Christiansborg Castle and the Arts and Craft market
  • Day 3 (Depart to Kumasi): Visit the Cultural Center and Ashanti craft villages
  • Day 4: Full day Kumasi tour - Visit the Royal Manhyia Palace Museum. Witness the Ashant King and his subchiefs in a ceremony. Lots of traditional drumming and dancing. New hotel: Lemon Beach Resort/Ridge Royal Hotel
  • Day 5: (Depart to Elmina): Naming Ceremony. Night on the town to enjoy local live band and dancing.
  • Day 6:  Enjoy a ride up the Cape Coast to Kakum National Park to experience the Canopy Walkway. After lunch, visit the Cape Coast Castle and take a tour of the infamous slave dungeons. This castle also houses the West African Historical Museum. The guide will take you through the governor’s quarters, condemned cells, and the ‘Door of Return’.  New hotel: Lancaster Kumasi City/Oak Plaza Suites (or similar)
  • Day 7: Breakfast and check out, then visit the Elmina Castle, the oldest European monument in Ghana built in 1482 by the Portuguese. First established as a trade settlement, the castle later became one of the most important stops on the route of the Atlantic Slave Trade.  Transferred back to Accra
  • Day 8: After breakfast, transferred to the airport for departure flight
 

 

Cancellation policy:

If you must cancel your trip, please let us know as soon as possible. Trips cancelled up to 45 days before the trip will receive a refund of what was paid minus the $250 non-refundable deposit. $200 of the deposit can be used to book another date. $50 is forfeited.
