ITINERARY:

 
 
Day  1:  Arrive to Johannesburg 
 

Arrive today in Johannesburg, South Africa's largest and most populous city. Upon arrival at OR Tambo International Airport, your guide will meet and transfer you to your hotel. En route, enjoy a panoramic orientation tour of this cosmopolitan city, affectionately referred to as "Jo'Burg" or "Jozi" by the locals. Check in at your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Johannesburg-Soweto
 
Guest will enjoy a lovely breakfast at the Hotel. Depart Hotel for a visit to Soweto and the Apartheid Museum. Discover Soweto (South Western Township), the largest black residential area in South Africa. Guests will see a fascinating contrast to Sandton and Rosebank in the north east. This “city within a city” consists of 50 suburbs, or sections and our tour route takes us to all the major points of interest. Highlights of this tour included: two Nobel Prize winners previous residences, Visit of the Hector Peterson Memorial (No entry) & Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital and the famous Vilakazi street. Guests will also visit the Mandela House in small groups.  Lunch in Soweto. After lunch, continue to the Apartheid museum. Apartheid Museum | The Apartheid Museum opened in 2001 and is acknowledged as the pre-eminent museum in the world dealing with 20th century South Africa, at the heart of which is the apartheid story. The Apartheid Museum, the first of its kind, illustrates the rise and fall of apartheid. An architectural consortium, comprising several leading architectural firms, conceptualised the design of the building on a seven-hectare stand. The museum is a superb example of design, space and landscape offering the international community a unique South African experience.

Day 3: Johannesburg to Pilanesberg National Park
 

 On the day of your adventure, rest easy knowing that a knowledgeable English speaking guide will be waiting for you at the hotel reception, ready to accompany you on an incredible journey to the captivating National Park. Once there, prepare for an afternoon filled with thrilling encounters as you embark on your first game drive through the park's diverse landscape. Don't forget to recharge with a scrumptious lunch, which you can indulge in at a venue of your choice. As the sun begins its descent, your exhilarating game drive draws to a close, and you'll be escorted back to the lodge, where a delectable dinner awaits, serenading your taste buds with flavors that reflect the richness of this unforgettable experience.

Day 4: Pilanesberg  Lodge
 

Wake up early this morning to the unmistakable sounds of the African bush coming to life, and set out for one of the highlights of your stay; a three-hour sunrise game drive in the Reserve. Spend the day at the lodge enjoying the view and enjoy lunch at the property.

Day 5: Pilanesberg Lodge to Sun City

Start the day before the sun rises, with rusks and tea or coffee before setting off on your morning safari with a ranger. Return to the lodge for a full breakfast then have some time to relax around the property. Meet your guide at the lodge reception for your transfer to Sun City Resort.

Start the day before the sun rises, with rusks and tea or coffee before setting off on your morning safari with a ranger. Return to the lodge for a full breakfast then have some time to relax around the property.

Meet the guide at the lobby reception for your transfer to OR Tambo Airport. Fly to Johannesburg to Cape Town.

On arrival guests will be picked up from the Cape Town Airport and transferred to their hotel with local English-Speaking Guide.

Guests will complete check in formalities at their hotel.

Day 7: Cape Town- Robben Island & Table Mountain with Cape Town City Tour

Meet your guide at hotel reception & depart for Robben Island visit.

Depart on a scheduled boat trip across Table Bay to Robben Island (time is 45 minutes to 90 minutes). On arrival guests will be met by their guide – an ex-political prisoner. You will be taken on a 45-minute bus ride with a guide providing commentary. Stop and visit the famous Maximum Security Prison as well as the Murray's Bay Harbour precinct attractions, such as the Muslim shrine, or kramat, and the Museum Shop. For nearly 400 years, Robben Island, 12 kilometres from Cape Town, was a place of banishment, exile, isolation and imprisonment. It was here that rulers sent those they regarded as political troublemakers, social outcasts and the unwanted of society. During the apartheid years Robben Island became internationally known for its institutional brutality.


Thereafter ascend Table Mountain – weather permitting (otherwise Signal Hill). Lunch at the cafe on Table Mountain (lunch on clients own account)


Discover the spirit of the Mother City, experience her vibrant cultures and history and enjoy botanical scenery.  Highlights include: Table Mountain Malay Quarter, Cape Castle, Green Market Square, District Six, and Walk through the Company Gardens, passing the Houses of Parliament, the City Hall and Slave lodge. Visit SA Museum.


Note: Please note visit to Table Mountain is weather depending. If visit to the Table Mountain is not available another attempt will be made to visit on the second or third day.

Day 8: Cape Town- Cape Peninsula

Breakfast served at the Hotel. Meet your guide at hotel reception for a full day Cape Peninsula Tour including visits to Seal Island, Boulders Beach, Cape Point National Reserve and lunch in Simons Town. Travel via the 12 Apostles and Hout Bay, as well as Chapman’s Peak (subject to road maintenance) – one of the region’s most dramatic mountain drives offering amazing panoramic views over the city and surroundings. Stop in Hout Bay for a 45 minute boat cruise to Seal Island. Thereafter visit a colony of African Penguins in their natural environment at Boulders Beach. Boulders Beach is a sheltered beach made up of inlets between granite boulders, from which the name originated. It is located in the Cape Peninsula, near Simon's Town towards Cape Point. It is also commonly known as Boulders Bay

Continue to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, established in 1939 to protect 7750 ha of indigenous flora and fauna. The reserve comes to an end at majestic Cape Point. Rugged rocks and sheer cliffs towering more than 200 metres above the sea and cutting deep into the ocean, provide a spectacular background for the park’s rich bio-diversity. Cape Point falls within the southern section of the Table Mountain National Park.

After discovering the town of Stellenbosch by foot, head towards a Wine Estate where you will experience a sensational twist on fast finger-food pairing, expertly paired with our world-class wines. Our uncomplicated yet flavor-packed bites are an ideal match for our wine selections, crafting a truly extraordinary taste journey. Picture indulging in tomato soup, vegetable samosas with zesty mango atchara, BBQ chicken kebabs, beef sliders topped with cranberry jam and dark chocolate shavings, and a traditional mini malva pudding with a hint of licorice!

  • Please note that our flight leaves ATL on October 31, 2025.
  • When entering South Africa, passport holders must have at least two completely blank (unstamped) visa pages in their passport for each entry. Note that this does not include the endorsement/amendment pages at the back of the passport. South African government regulations prohibit airlines from boarding passengers who do not meet this requirement. You may be denied entry if your passport does not have enough blank pages.
  • You don't need a visa for South Africa if you have a United States passport.
  • Ensure you are up-to-date on routine vaccinations before each trip. These include the COVID-19 vaccine, measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, polio vaccine, and your annual flu shot. The CDC recommends visiting your doctor ideally 4-6 weeks before your trip to receive any necessary vaccines or medications.

All bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable. Ket Travels has contractual agreements with hotels, airlines, and other vendors that prevent us from offering refunds. This policy allow us to maintain low package prices and provides you with the option to make monthly payments on your vacation. Once a reservation is confirmed, no refunds will be issued for cancellations, changes, or no-shows. This policy applies regardless of the reason for cancellation, including but not limited to personal emergencies, unforeseen circumstances, or changes in travel plans. The booking is non-transferable, and any modifications to the reservation are subject to availability and additional fees. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect against unexpected events. By confirming your reservation, you acknowledge and agree to abide by this non-refundable cancellation policy
