Itinerary:

Day 1: AKWAABA – A Warm Welcome to Ghana

  • Arrival at Kotoka International Airport: Upon landing in Accra, you’ll be greeted with a warm Ghanaian welcome. After a smooth transfer to your hotel, take some time to settle in and refresh.
  • Evening – Ghanaian Culinary Experience: In the evening, immerse yourself in the rich flavors of Ghana with an authentic dinner featuring local dishes. The group will dress in white, symbolizing a fresh start and unity as we begin our journey together. 

Day 2: Accra – Unveiling the Vibrant Capital

  • Morning – Accra City Tour: After Sunday Brunch, we’ll dive into the heart of Accra, exploring its most iconic landmarks. Our tour will take us to Osu Castle, Independence Square, and the W.E.B. DuBois Center, where we’ll gain a deeper understanding of Ghana’s history and its role in the Pan-African movement. Learn about important events in Ghana’s history.
  • Afternoon – Cultural Immersion: Continue your tour to The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, dedicated to the legacy of Ghana's first President, Kwame Nkrumah, and his role in African independence. The tour includes visits to Nkrumah's mausoleum, a museum showcasing his life, his personal residence, the eternal Flame of African Liberation, and beautifully landscaped gardens. Learn about Nkrumah's early life, political career, and Pan-African vision. Tour at the Arts Center, where you can sharpen your bargaining skills to shop for goods from Ghana and West Africa in an open-air market. On display, you will see fabrics of different materials, designs, colors and textures to purchase from.
  • Evening – Dinner: The Polo Beach Club time to feel the ambience of Ghana and special treats. 

Day 3: Unwind on the Beach – Self Care 

 
  • Morning – After breakfast, we’ll set off Labadi Beach for a day of enjoying the scenery and unwind from travel and a day of tours. So, pack your gear and let's enjoy this time together. 
  • Evening – Dinner: Corridor Gardens Restaurant to experience another authentic taste of Ghana. 
 
 
 

Day 4: Cape Coast – A Journey Through History and Kakum Rainforest Adventure

  • Morning – Cape Coast and Elmina Castles: After breakfast, we’ll travel to Cape Coast for an emotional and transformative tour of Cape Coast and Elmina Castles. As we walk through the Door of No Return, you’ll connect with the profound history of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, guided by experts who will share powerful stories of our ancestors. After the tour we will have time to reflect with lunch by the ocean.
  • Afternoon – Kakum National Park: Next we will head to Kakum National Park, home to Ghana’s famous canopy walkway. Experience the thrill of walking high above the forest floor, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the rainforest. We will also visit a local Stingless Bee Center to learn about sustainable honey production. 
  • Evening – Unwind and Recharge: Return to our hotel in Cape Coast for a well-deserved rest.
 
Day 5: Women Empowerment - Community Is Important 
  • Morning/Early Afternoon – Depart Cape Coast: After breakfast, we’ll set off back to Accra for Global Mommas. This is a scenic four hour drive which will include enjoying the environment. Global Mommas Ghanaian Cooking Workshop: Explore the fragrant and exotic flavors of West African cuisine in Auntie Esi’s kitchen. Esi will introduce you to an array of new tastes and flavors as you learn how to create authentic Ghanaian dishes. Using African cooking techniques, during this workshop you will create traditional dishes like jollof rice, fried plantain, fufu, palava sauce and red red. After learning the recipes, you will enjoy eating the feast you’ve helped to prepare.
  • Mid Afternoon – African Batik: Discover the art and beauty of African batik and get a glimpse into the life of a local artisan as you work side-by-side during
    this four hour class. You’ll join a Global Mamas’ batiker in her workshop to learn the traditional techniques of batik production using wax and dye to create colorful patterns – to make your own one-of-a-kind fabric. Afterwards, take your two yards of handiwork home to sew into a finish product that will always have a special place in your home or wardrobe.
  • Evening – Free Time: Leisure and relaxation at the hotel. 

Day 6: Rhythm of the Heart and Movement – Feel the Beat 

  • Morning – Freedom Release: After breakfast, you will immerse yourself in the rhythms of Ghana with a drumming and dancing workshop at the Arts Centre in Accra. Led by skilled local instructors, this interactive experience introduces you to the heartbeat of Ghanaian culture through traditional music and movement. Begin with a drumming session, where you'll learn the basics of playing iconic instruments like the djembe and kpanlogo drums.
  • Afternoon - Strong Beat: Following the drumming, engage in an energetic dance session, learning the-spirited moves of popular traditional dances such as the Adowa and Kpanlogo. Instructors break down each step, allowing you to learn all levels to fully enjoy the experience.
  • Evening -  Reflect on the day activities at the hotel. 

Day 7: Nature’s Wonders – Boti Waterfalls and Beyond

  • Morning - Journey to the Eastern Region: After breakfast, we’ll set off to the Eastern Region, a land of stunning natural beauty. Our first stop is the majestic Boti Waterfalls, where you can take a refreshing dip or simply marvel at the cascading waters. Visit both Umbrella Rock and Aburi Botantical Gardens.
  • Afternoon – Volta River Cruise: Visit the Royal Senchi Resort, which is situated in one of the most beautiful locations in Ghana on the banks of the famous Volta River in the Eastern Region of Ghana and about 90 minutes’ drive from the capital city Accra. The hotel allows for easy access to a lush green 35-acre conservation nature park- home to rare butterfly and bird populations. We will enjoy an hour boat ride on the Volta River which will provide an opportunity to see the Adomi Bridge.
  • Evening – Free Time: Choose to explore Accra’s vibrant nightlife or unwind at the hotel resort.

Day 8: A Memorable Farewell

  • Morning - Breakfast: Start your morning with a delightful breakfast.
  • Mid-Morning What's My Name: Depart Accra to a beautiful village located on the lower course of the splendid Volta River. You will pay a courtesy call on the chief and elders amidst traditional drumming and dancing by the villagers. You will participate in a naming ceremony of recognition, where a Ghanaian name is given to you and a gift presented as part of celebrating a new identity as a Ghanaian and a member of the local community.
  • Afternoon - Cedi Bead Factory: Beads play a very important role in the life and culture of the Krobo people of Ghana. Beads are used to mark family status, special occasions, and the important rite of passage of girls into puberty, called the Dipo. Walk around the factory and observe the making of beads in a traditional manner. You will even have the opportunity to make your own beads to take home!
  • Evening - Farewell Dinner Celebration: As the sun sets, gather with the group for a special farewell dinner at the hotel. This evening is a time to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve shared, exchange stories, and celebrate the connections we’ve made. The dinner will feature a delectable menu of both local and international dishes, offering a final taste of Ghana’s culinary richness.
  • Night - Final Toast and Memories: The night will conclude with a final toast to the unforgettable experiences we've had together. As we bid farewell, you’ll carry home not just souvenirs but also cherished memories and newfound friendships.

Day 9: Departure – Until We Meet Again

  • Morning – Departure Preparations: Enjoy a leisurely breakfast as we prepare for departure. Our host will arrange your transfer to Kotoka International Airport, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey home.
  • Farewell: As we bid farewell to Ghana, take with you the memories of an unforgettable journey and the warmth of Ghanaian hospitality.
 

Before Booking, Please Note the Following Entry Requirements for Ghana:

 All visitors must hold a valid passport or appropriate travel documents.

Valid entry visas are mandatory for all visitors to Ghana.

Travelers above nine months must be vaccinated against Yellow Fever when entering or passing through Ghana.

 Single entry visas are valid for three months and must be used within three months from the date of issue; this visa type allows for one-time use.

 All visa applications must be submitted online at www.ghanaembassydc.org.

 


Cancellation Policy:

PAYMENT & CANCELLATION: 

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of $150pp is due at the time of reservation. 

Balance due March 6, 2026

All payments may be made by credit or debit card. Prices are in US dollars, and all payments must be made in US dollars. Prices may be subject to change prior to confirming a reservation. Once a trip is confirmed with a deposit paid, the price is guaranteed with the following exceptions: foreign currency fluctuations in excess of 5% from the rate on date of confirmation and unforeseen increases in government taxes, fees, and levies beyond the control of LC Scursion Travel.

CANCELLATIONS
If you need to cancel your trip, you should contact LC Scursion Travel immediately, and then send notification in writing by email, or mail. Certain fees will apply calculated as of the date LC Scursion Travel receives written notice of cancellation.

60 or less Days Prior to Departure Date - 100% non-refundable.
61 - 90 Days Prior to Departure Date - 75% of trip cost 
91 or more Days Prior to Departure Date - Loss of non-refundable deposit.

TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE
We strongly recommend purchasing Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance. Travel insurance information is enclosed with your trip planning materials.  This can help prevent needless loss in case of serious illness, accident, or death of the traveler, traveler’s immediate family, or traveling companion.

 

Terms & Conditions

A. BOOKING DISCLAIMER: Please Note: All prices are subject to change and are based on availability.

B. PASSENGER INFORMATION: I understand that passenger names provided must match EXACTLY the full name(s) as listed in each passport, including middle name(s) or initial(s), or as listed on government-issued ID for passengers traveling within the USA.  

C.  TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION: I understand that U.S. citizens traveling to any destination outside of the United States will be required to present a valid U.S. passport. Passports must be valid for 6 months past the return date. Some countries require a visa for transit or entry. Passengers are responsible to ensure that they have all the proper documents for entry. All names on documents must match the legal name on your photo I.D., and travel document information must match tickets. Please check the State Department website at https://travel.state.gov for further information. Immunizations may also be required. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in denied boarding, denied entry, and/or government-imposed fines at the passengers expense. If you are a citizen of another country, there may be additional requirements. Check with the nearest consulate or embassy of the destination you are traveling to and find out the entry requirements for non-U.S. citizens.

D. TRAVEL INSURANCE: I assume and understand that there is a risk involved with my travel and my travel activities and/or excursions. I acknowledge that I was informed about travel insurance options.  If I decline travel insurance, I MUST complete a Travel Insurance Waiver Form.

E. HOTEL & ITINERARY CHANGES: I understand that various factors can impact hotels, restaurants, museums and other services that may comprise tour programs.  I further understand that local regulations and restrictions, as well as staff shortages, may impact my tour program, resulting in the potential for unavoidable hotel and/or itinerary amendments prior to the trip. I understand that LC Scursion Travel will inform me of those changes as soon as reasonably possible. Hotels may be substituted with alternatives of an equal or higher standard and that itineraries may be amended to accommodate changing conditions.  

F. ITINERARY PACE: I understand that escorted tours are very active and may require walking over uneven surfaces or navigating steep steps or slopes. I understand that wheelchairs, walkers, scooters and service animals are not permitted on international escorted tours. I understand that tour participants with any form of physical disability, sight or hearing impairment, which may prevent readily understanding and following instructions provided by the Tour Manager, are required to provide notification prior to reservation, and that LC Scursion Travel reserves the right to reject participation or remove any individual from a tour who has not provided such notification. Expenses, including cancellation fees and/or costs for alternate travel plans or to return home, will be borne by the passenger. Tours are booked through 3rd parties, and all tours are taken at your own risk. LC Scursion Travel will not be responsible for any incidents associated with tours operated by a 2nd or 3rd party contracted by LC Scursion Travel. You will hold LC Scursion Travel harmless of any legal action or any monetary obligation. 

G.  CONSENT: I understand that LC Scursion Travel collects personal information to enable the provision of tour services for this reservation. 

H.  PHOTOGRAPHY: LC Scursion Travel has the right to use photos and videos obtained from this trip for the purpose of marketing on LC Scursion Travel social media pages and website.

I.  TRAVEL WAIVER: LC Scursion Travel is a Travel Concierge Service offering retail travel services to customers, which are provided by separate and independent vendors of travel services. LC Scursion Travel does not operate, control, or otherwise provide the services of the independent travel vendors. Hence, customer agrees that LC Scursion Travel acts only as agent for the client in acquiring transportation, hotel accommodations, sightseeing, and other privileges, or services for the clients’ benefit, and on the express condition that LC Scursion Travel shall not be responsible for any loss, accident, injury, delay, defect, omission or irregularity which may occur or be occasioned, whether by reason of any act, negligence or default of any company or person engaged in or responsible for carrying out any of the arrangements, or otherwise in connection there with.

J.  RELEASE FROM LIABILITY: I have read Letter A -J of the Terms & Conditions and understand the entirety of this document. I agree that my payment and subsequent acceptance of my travel documents constitutes my acceptance of those Terms &  Conditions.

By purchasing Travel Protection, you can relax and have confidence in your vacation investment. This coverage allows you to cancel your trip for a covered reason or any reason based upon your request and receive a refund based upon the plan and insurance carrier review of your claim. 

Travel Insurance under the cancel anytime must be purchased within 14 days of the deposit.

Travel Insurance under cancel for a covered reason can be purchased at anytime prior to your final payment; but I would strongly consider thinking about this option.
