Essence Festival, is largest music festival in the country that celebrates African-American culture. The event was originally planned as a one-time event to celebrate the silver jubilee of Essence magazine. Famous as ‘the party with a purpose,’ the event’s success encouraged the organizers to make it into an annual music festival. The main idea behind the event is to empower and offer a platform to musicians, artists, speakers, and entrepreneurs of the African-American community.

Canal Street has been shaped by every kind of character and story imaginable. Originally conceptualized as a waterway by French surveyor Joseph Antoine Vinache in 1807, the canal evolved into a street and became the main thoroughfare of the city. In honor of his vision for the street we call home, Mr. Vinache became our namesake. We’ve stayed connected to the street’s early days as a famous meeting ground, where all the elements that give New Orleans its certain je ne sais quoi came together: old world elegance, daring adventure, bold innovation, and eccentric mystique, all mingling together on the neutral ground of Canal Street.
The beloved streetcar line runs through the center of it all, right past Hotel Vinache, bringing locals and visitors together to experience New Orleans, New Orleans style.
The hotel features 155 newly, appointed guest accommodations and 24 suites. Their services include valet parking, business center, state of the art fitness facility, valet dry cleaning. The guest room amenities are endless, starting with the Serenity Bedding with down duvet and pillows, large work area desk with ergonomic chair, mini-refrigerators, coffee/tea maker, HS wireless internet service, in-room safes, iron and ironing board, two-line phone with voice mail and of course in-room dining is available.
