DAY 1, Tuesday - Depart for Thailand - from Los Angeles

DAY 2, Wednesday - Arrive in Bangkok
Welcome to Thailand! Arrive in exotic Bangkok and transfer to your hotel; remainder of the day is at leisure. Time to rest, relax and acclimate to your new time zone.
Overnight: Bangkok

DAY 3, Thursday - Bangkok City Tour
This morning, take a tour that introduces you to Bangkok, the "City of Angels". Drive through Indian Market with hundreds of market stalls, street-side restaurants, and gold shops. On to colorful "Little India" with its bright hanging walls of glistening fabrics and the fragrant wholesale Flower Market. Visit serene Wat Po, (Temple of the Reclining Buddha) the oldest and largest temple in the city, with its astonishing giant Reclining Buddha, over 150 feet long and almost 40 feet high. Drive via Royal Avenue where most of the Government offices are located and the King's Palace. The rest of the day is at leisure before tonight's orientation meeting with your Tour Manager at approximately 5 PM, followed by dinner at the hotel

DAY 4, Friday - Full Day in Bangkok
Today is yours to explore Bangkok independently. Or, take the optional tour to the elaborate 18th century Grand Palace, symbol and ceremonial heart of the kingdom, and to Wat Phra Kaew, (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), with its brightly colored buildings, golden spires and gorgeous mosaics. You'll see the distinct contrast in style between the Thai-inspired Wat Phra Kaew and the European design of the Grand Palace. In the afternoon, embark on the optional canal tour along the Chao Phraya River passing by Wat Arun and other iconic landmarks as well as a scenic view of local life along the river. Then travel on a tuk-tuk to dinner at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel

DAY 5, Saturday - Travel to Kanchanaburi, Visit Bridge over River Kwai & War Museum
Travel southwest this morning to the vibrant Damnoen Saduak Floating Market; observe how the ancient trading of wares is conducted between hundreds of local farmers and villagers aboard small sampan boats. The boats are fully loaded with all kinds of products including fruits, vegetables, dry goods, and freshly cooked food. From the Floating market, continue to the quiet provincial capital of Kanchanaburi, with its stunning natural beauty and beautiful rivers. Walk over the steel bridge at the River Kwai, one of the most famous rivers in the world, which gained international fame in the book and film, "Bridge on the River Kwai". The bridge, several museums, and cemeteries have respectfully preserved the history and memorialized the dead. Tonight, have dinner at a hotel restaurant.

DAY 6, Sunday - Full Day in Kanchanaburi
Today is at leisure to explore Kanchanaburi independently. Or, Join ChicChatter Travel at an Elephant Sanctuary.  Or, take the optional full day Hellfire Pass and Death Railway tour. Hellfire Pass derives its name from Allied POWs forced to work day and night in the jungle to complete the bridge and rail line using only simple tools; more than 12,000 soldiers and 80,000 Asian laborers perished during the construction. Lunch en-route before returning to the hotel.

DAY 7, Monday - Travel to Ayutthaya, Ayutthaya City Tour
Depart Kanchanaburi and travel to Ayutthaya, the second Siamese capital after Sukhothai for over 400 years, once glorified as the largest city in Southeast Asia. In the center of the city lies Ayutthaya Historical Park, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you can see the ruins of the former capital and its remaining palaces, monasteries, and towers - one can envision the grandeur and splendor that was once the Kingdom of Ayutthaya. After lunch, continue to the Chai Wattanaram Temple, built by King Prasat Thong, a commoner who overthrew the previous king and took his throne. Here, you can enjoy the peaceful and tranquil surroundings of Siam before dinner.

DAY 8, Tuesday - Travel to Pattaya
This morning, time permitting, meet children at a local school* then visit Bang Pa-In Palace, a collection of beautiful buildings in various architectural styles, surrounded by a lake. Originally built by King Prasat Thong in 1632, this served as the Royal Summer Palace for the Thai Kings. Continue to Pattaya, a seaside resort on the East Coast of the Gulf of Thailand, with its beautiful beaches and sparkling azure waters. En-route stop at a gem gallery to watch jewelry being made and learn more about the gems used. Arrive at the hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.
*School visit is subject to changes due to school scheduling.

DAY 9, Wednesday - Full Day in Pattaya
Today is at leisure to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Perhaps, escape by speedboat to the stunning Coral Island, Koh Larn, brimming with an abundance of coral formations and underwater life. Unwind at the beach or, try out some water sports, including waterskiing, parasailing, and windsurfing. Choose to visit the Pattaya Floating market, one of the biggest in the world. Separated into four sections, with each offering and representing items from the four major regions of Thailand. Here, you will find food and fruit stalls as well as souvenir shops. Tonight, time on your own to savor a delicious dinner at a seaside restaurant or enjoy the vibrant nightlife that the town is known for.

DAY 10, Thursday - Depart Thailand
Transfer to the airport in Bangkok for your departure flight. The ride from your hotel to the airport will take about 2 hours.

It is each traveler's responsibility to have a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the dates of travel (i.e., must not expire before December 2026)
 
- Thailand - NO special vaccinations are required.
 
 
Climate & Clothing for May 
 
Thailand - MAY - Average temperatures are 80 - 85 degrees.  Bring comfortable walking shoes, lightweight clothes you can layer and a waterproof windbreaker.  Most religious sites require modest dress to enter. Clothes that don't cover your knees, including shorts, skirts, and dresses are not allowed. Shoulders must be covered, therefore no sleeveless tops are permitted. A shawl or scarf is frequently NOT accepted as a cover.

This afternoon, embark on a long tail boat ride along the Chao Phraya River. Pass by Wat Arun, "Temple of Dawn" and other iconic landmarks. Take in scenic views of both banks of the river as you glide through the water and observe the simple life of the locals living along the river.  Afterwards, travel to dinner on a tuk-tuk, Thailand's popular three-wheeled motorized taxi, to a local restaurant before returning to your hotel.

Half Day Grand Palace & Emerald Buddha - Day #4 -  May 8th, 2026 
Morning tour of Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and the adjoining Grand Palace. Together they form the most impressive sights for visitors to Bangkok. Wat Phra Kaew consists of over 100 brightly colored buildings, golden spires and
glittering mosaics, dating back to 1782, when Bangkok was founded. From Wat Phra Kaew continue to the Grand Palace. Despite the proximity of the two, there's a distinct contrast in style between the Thai-inspired Wat Phra Kaew and the European designs of
the Grand Palace. It is important to note that this palace is used now only for occasional ceremonial purposes and is no longer the royal residence.
Approximate tour duration is 4 hours.

Full Day Hellfire Pass & Death Railway with lunch - Day #6 -  May 10th 2026 
Depart early in the morning from Kanchanaburi to visit Hellfire Pass and the Death Railway. En route, stop at nearby Sai Yok National Park, known for its waterfalls, caves and rare wildlife. Here, visit the Sai Yok Noi Waterfall, the most popular attraction
in the park. After lunch, continue to Hellfire Pass that derives its name from Allied Prisoners of War ordered by the Japanese authorities to complete the bridge and rail line earlier than scheduled. All POW's were forced to work day and night in the jungle,
digging through the mountain with simple tools. More than 12,000 soldiers and 80,000 Thais perished during construction.  Conclude the tour with a train ride along the River Kwai. Approximate tour duration is 8 hours. Please note that there are
approximately 154 stairs with 4 small platforms to descend to the railway bed to view the pass. You will need to climb back up the stairs to return to the start point.
*Walking to the pass requires walking approximately 400 meters on an unpaved path of rocks of the former railbed.

A self-supporting Environmental Conservation Organization that cares for domestic elephants, situated just outside the town of Kanchanaburi, Thailand. Cares for the daily needs of over 30 elephants and staff by offering Eco-travelers the experience of an up-close and personal encounter with these wonderful creatures.

The Mission is to provide the best possible care for our elephants, staff and visitors. We welcome travelers here at home and from across the world.  We strive to make every moment spent with us educational, enjoyable and rewarding in meaningful ways, understanding our visitors love elephants and wish to play a part, as we do, in their conservation for future generations.
ITINERARY
09.30 AM Introduction & Safety rules
10.30 AM Enter the park and meet the elephants, feed them some watermelon and pumpkins!
11.00 AM Help prepare food for the older elephants. Activities can differ everyday,
For example, cutting grass, make sticky rice or banana grass balls.
11.30 AM Join in or observe the elephants taking a mud bath (elephant spa!)
11:40 AM Take the elephants to the river for a bath
12.00 PM Buffet lunch
12.30 PM Take a shower (Towels are provided by ElephantsWorld)
13:00 PM Say goodbye to the elephants 🙁 but don’t forget to check out the gift shop!!
13:30 PM End of the day.
