Johannesburg
Starting in Johannesburg, we’ll be staying in the fast-paced city of Sandton. Surrounded by restaurants, a public library, a theatre AND the six-meter-high iconic statue of Nelson Mandela. Per Forbes, Sandton has some of the most luxury hotels and resorts in South Africa.
Sandton City is Africa’s most iconic shopping center, so no need to worry about restaurants and shopping. It’s all at your footsteps.
Capetown
This is the part of the experience where it gets real! We’re going to be staying near the VA Waterfront. The V&A Waterfront is one of Africa’s most visited, situated in the oldest working harbour in South Africa, with the iconic Table Mountain as its backdrop.
There are so many amazing sites and tours we will get to see like Signal Hill, Table Mountain, The Big 5 Safari, Robben Island and much more. We’ll even get to visit and tour several black owned wineries.
This is one experience you don’t want to miss.
Tour Descriptions:
Full day Johannesburg tour & Soweto
Time to experience and learn a little bit of history.
The Apartheid Museum is ranked #1 out of 7 things to do in Johannesburg. The museum comprises 22 individual exhibition areas, all of which use a combination of artifacts, photographs, film footage and information panels to document the rise and fall of apartheid.
South of Johannesburg is Soweto, a city developed as a township for black people under the apartheid system.
The name Soweto is an acronym, made up - in apartheid days - from the first letters of the words “south western township”.
Full Day Safari
We'll be heading to a national park which is home to Africa's Big Five; lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo.
This full-day tour will increase our chance of wildlife sightings with two guided game drives in an open safari vehicle, tuck into a delicious lunch looking out over a popular waterhole, and perhaps spot giraffe, hippos, zebras, and antelope in their natural environment.
Note: It is not guaranteed we will see all of the aminals. We are in their natural environment and not the zoo.
Cape Town City Tour
Today we'll pass famous landmarks including the Castle of Good Hope, City Hall, the Grand Parade, St. George's Cathedral, Company Gardens, and the Malay Quarter. The route then leads to Kloof Nek and Table Mountain. Ascend to the summit by cable car for bird's eye view of the city and its beaches (weather permitting).
Continue to the V & A Waterfront where you will have the opportunity to learn the three-billion-year-old story of diamonds while touring prominent Shimansky Jewelers & Museum.
