The Eastham Windmill in Eastham, Massachusetts

Standing proudly on the Village Green since 1680, the Eastham Windmill is the oldest working windmill on Cape Cod and a cherished symbol of the region’s heritage. With its weathered timbers, classic design, and deep ties to the community, the windmill offers visitors a glimpse into the resourceful spirit of early New England life. Today, it remains not only a historical landmark but also a gathering place where history, tradition, and small-town charm come together.

The Eastham Windmill and surrounding green are welcoming and easy to access for visitors of all ages. While the interior of the windmill involves a few steps and narrow passages, the outdoor grounds are open and comfortable for those with mobility needs. Many visitors enjoy simply walking around the exterior, taking photos, or resting on the green while soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.
