Itinerary:

  • Day 1 (Sunday, November 30): Depart for the Czech Republic

  • Day 2 (Monday, December 1): Arrive in Prague
    Arrive in the "Golden City "of Prague, and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Your tour will begin with an orientation meeting with your Tour manager at approximately 6 PM, followed by a light dinner. We recommend that you select flights which arrive no later than 4 PM

  • Day 3 (Tuesday, December 2): Tour of Prague, Christmas Markets
    Begin the day with a walking tour of Prague to the picturesque Lesser Town, with its ancient burgher houses, and quaint side streets. Admire breathtaking views of Prague Castle as you cross the Charles Bridge, one of Europe's oldest stone bridges, to the Old Town, the medieval center of Prague. Explore the cobbled streets around Old Town Square. View the white stucco St. Nicholas Church, the world-famous Astronomical Clock, and Town Hall. The rest of the day is free to explore the enchanting Christmas markets. View traditional wooden stalls offering handmade crafts, ornaments, and Czech delicacies

  • Day 4 (Wednesday, December 3): Travel to Cesky Krumlov, Tour Cesky Krumlov, Christmas Market
    Depart Prague, and travel through the scenic South Bohemia region to Cesky Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll through the quaint cobblestone alleys of the Old Town, and marvel at the iconic Cesky Krumlov Castle with its towering spires, and majestic courtyards. Later, explore the delightful Christmas market. Browse through wooden stalls offering an array of handmade gifts and local crafts, perfect for finding unique souvenirs and stocking stuffers. Tonight, savor traditional Czech cuisine

  • Day 5 (Thursday, December 4): Travel to Bratislava, City Tour of Bratislava, Christmas Market
    Today, head to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. The beautifully restored Old Town with its winding lanes, and medieval courtyards is nestled between the steep Castle Hill, and the Danube River. On arrival, explore the historic center on a guided walking tour. View Primatial Square, with its Renaissance fountain, the 15th century Old Town Hall, Franciscan Square, Mirbach Palace, and the 15th century St Martin's Cathedral. After, take time to browse Bratislava's Christmas market, and experience the magic of the holiday season, before dinner tonight

  • Day 6 (Friday, December 5): Vienna City Tour, Christmas Markets
    Depart Bratislava, and travel through the Austrian countryside to the capital city of Vienna. Embark on a panoramic tour of Vienna. View Ringstrasse, Vienna's main boulevard, Hofburg Palace, the Opera House, the monument of Empress Maria Theresia, Votive Church, City Hall, Parliament, and Musikverein, the music hall of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Next, walk through the Hofburg courtyards to the iconic State Opera House. Spend the afternoon exploring Vienna's festive Christmas markets. Be sure to stop at a café to sample the famous Viennese Sacher Torte before returning to Bratislava

  • Day 7 (Saturday, December 6): Travel to Budapest, City Tour of Budapest, Christmas Market
    This morning, travel to Budapest, capital of Hungary. Embark on a city tour that begins in Pest. Continue to view the Parliament, Heroes' Square, and Market Hall before crossing the Danube to the Buda Hills. Here, see the Royal Palace, and view the 13th century Matthias Church. Proceed to the Fisherman's Bastion for enthralling panoramic views of the city. Free time to browse Budapest's Christmas market, filled with wooden stalls richly decorated with traditional wares. Tonight perhaps, choose the optional Danube Cruise that includes dinner

  • Day 8 (Sunday, December 7): Full Day in Budapest
    Spend the day at leisure, and pamper yourself at one of Europe's best old-world spas. Perhaps, join the optional Half Day Szentendre Tour. Travel to Szentendre, nestled on the banks of the Danube River. On arrival, take a walking tour of Szentendre's historic center with its cobblestone streets, pastel-colored buildings, and quaint shops. Free time to explore art workshops, and studios showcasing the works of local, and international artists. Next, visit Marzipan Museum*. Learn about the history of marzipan, and the techniques as well as secrets behind marzipan sculpting. Conclude the visit at the café, and enjoy traditional mulled wine along with Christmas cake. Afterward, head back to Budapest. At dinner tonight, bid farewell to your Tour Manager

DAY 7: Danube Dinner Cruise

Enjoy a relaxing cruise down the Danube on a private boat, accompanied by the commentary of your local expert. The views from the river are magnificent as you admire the skyline from a different perspective of the city after sunset. The buffet dinner features Hungarian specialties and wine. Transportation is included.

Approximate tour duration is 3 hours. Cost $90 per person

DAY 8: Half Day Szentendre Tour

Embark on a tour to Szentendre, known as Arts City, nestled on the banks of the Danube River. On arrival, take a walking tour of Szentendre's historic center with its cobblestone streets, pastel-colored buildings, and quaint shops. Free time to explore art workshops, and studios showcasing the works of local and international artists. Next, visit Marzipan Museum*. Learn about the history of marzipan, and the techniques as well as secrets behind marzipan sculpting. Conclude the visit at the café, and enjoy traditional mulled wine along with Christmas cake. Afterward, head back to Budapest.

Cancellation policy:

Deposits are non-refundable. Once a partial or full payment has been made, cancellations must be submitted in writing. Cancellation fees will be applied based on the date that the written cancellation is received and based on the following days prior to departure. Fees will be calculated as a percentage of the total amount received, excluding Travel Protection, previously assessed fees, and ticketed airfare. Cancellation fees will not be less than the initial non-refundable deposit. The travel protection plan premium is non-refundable after a 10-day review period. Carey-ed Away Travel charges an additional $50 cancellation fee in addition to what the tour operator charges as a penalty.
