I’m SO EXCITED to announce my next culinary trip. Join me on a river cruise through Europe on the gorgeous Danube! We’ll visit Germany, Austria, Hungary and more!
I’ve always dreamed of taking a river cruise through Europe. In August my dream came true! It was everything I had always imagined and more! On the first night of our cruise Hoyt proposed to me! It truly was the trip of a lifetime! I just knew I needed to plan a similar trip for one of my next Cooking Mom Vacations so that you too can experience all the magic!
A river cruise truly is the ULTIMATE way to see Europe! There are lots of different cruise lines. Some are much better then others! On this trip we are going first class all the way. Uniworld is the top of the line and is voted the ABSOLUTE BEST! It’s also a great value! Because it’s a group trip I was able to negotiate a great deal on this trip! Also, Uniworld is a TRUE all-inclusive. That means ALL of your wine, beer, champagne and cocktails are included on our cruise. Plus, most of our excursions when we get off the ship are included too. Tipping on board is also included!
We’ll be on the gorgeous S.S. Maria Theresa. The cabins are bigger than most and the ship is so beautiful! The food, wine and the breathtaking scenery is also what makes this trip so special! There are only 150 passengers on board. It’s such an intimate wonderful experience. The staff on our ship will pamper us and take care of our every need. We’ll spend 8 glorious days cruising the Danube. We’ll make stops along the way in Germany, Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary.
The itinerary is amazing! You’ll have the chance to visit a small family winery in Austria that produces some of the best wines in the world. We’ll also get to experience a private concert and opera in Vienna! It’s spectacular! We’ll visit Budapest! At night, the city is all lights! It’s one of the most gorgeous places I’ve ever seen! Bring on the Hungarian sausage and strudel!
It’s always a good idea to fly in a couple days before we board the ship. You’ll have the option to fly in two days early with me to explore Munich, one of my favorite places! We’ll stay at a small charming hotel. Hoyt and I loved it! We’ll wakeup to a beautiful breakfast with coffee, Bavarian breads and jams and a cooked to order included breakfast.
Our first night in Europe is going to be awesome! We’ll go with a local on a German Pub crawl. He’s amazing! He’ll take us around Munich too see the sights and we’ll stop at local pubs all the way. We’ll sample lots of delicious German food too! It’s going to be so fun! On Saturday, we’ll be able to sleep in a bit and then explore Munich some more. There’s a really fun summer Festival directly across the street from our hotel. It’s got a huge beer garden with the best giant fresh baked pretzels! Get ready for grilled sausages, salmon over an open flame, fresh baked goods, and so much more! It’s so cool!
The festival only lasts a few days so I wanted to make sure we’d all get to experience it. On Sunday after breakfast, I’ve arranged for us to be driven to Passau, Germany, about 90 minutes away, to board our ship! Let the magic begin!
After our trip you’ll have the option to stay 2 extra days with me in Budapest before we fly home!

- Flights can be quoted individually, or you are able to schedule your own flights. I will send out information on the flights Amy and Hoyt will be on, and I can book your flights to be with them or a separate flight.

Cancellation policy:
Cancellation of travel must be made in writing and is effective from the date we receive the written notification. Any trip deposit or payment is non-refundable. Rose Travel and The Cooking Mom's Culinary Vacations incur costs with the suppliers of your trip well in advance of your departure date. At the effective date of cancelation, any additional payments will not be required. We highly recommend trip insurance - available at time of booking.
