November 19: Departure from Miami
Meet at Miami International Airport for our group flight to Senegal.
November 20: Arrival in Dakar, Senegal
Transfer to our hotel
Relax and unwind after the journey.
November 21: Goree Island/Dakar City Tour (Included)
Ferry to GOREE Island. After a brief presentation of the island, proceed to the infamous Slave House to visit
the Door-Of-No-Return. Then, walk around the island. After lunch, we will return to Dakar for a
comprehensive Dakar city tour with a visit to all of the highlights including the Presidential palace,
the Independence square, the Cathedral, the colonial railway station, the university, the Statue of the
African Renaissance, the tallest Statue in Africa and the largest art and craft market that make Dakar
a city unlike any other cities in West Africa.
November 22: Dakar to St Louis (Included)
Leave the hotel and proceed for a 4-hour drive North of DAKAR. We will stop at the busy
town of THIES to explore its famous market known for woven baskets and items of souvenir. Upon
arrival in Saint Louis, proceed to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at the hotel.
November 23: City Tour of Saint Louis / Afternoon at Leisure
After breakfast, take a city tour on a horse-drawn carriage to explore the former Capital of SENEGAL.
The old city reminds you of New Orleans with its wooden balconies lining the narrow streets. SAINT
LOUIS is also known as the JAZZ Capital. After lunch, proceed to the Hotel. Afternoon at leisure.
November 24: Saint Louis to The Lompoul Desert (Included)
Leave SAINT LOUIS for a 1-hour and half drive to the LOMPOUL desert. In the afternoon, there is a
possibility of doing Camel ride or quad bike ride through the sand dunes. At dinnertime, you will
enjoy entertainment and overnight in traditional tents in the middle of the desert.
November 25: The Lompul Desert to Toubacouta (Included)
Leave the desert in the morning and proceed for a 5-hour drive to TOUBACOUTA. We will stop at the
city of KAOLACK for lunch, then, proceed to the hotel in TOUBACOUTA and stay
overnight.
November 26: Toubacouta to The Kunta Kinte Island (Included)
Leave TOUBACOUTA after breakfast and proceed for a 25-minute drive to the border of SENEGAL and
THE GAMBIA. After visa procedures, we will continue to JUFFUREH village, the birthplace of KUNTA
KINTE. We will take a 25-minute boat ride to the KUNTA KINTE Island for a comprehensive lecture of
the Slave Trade in that region. Then, proceed back to TOUBACOUTA and stay overnight.
November 27: Toubacouta to Saly
Leave TOUBACOUTA after breakfast, then, proceed for a 4-hour drive to the SALY resort and stay
overnight.
