What is a Casa Particular?
A casa particular is a unique accommodation option in Cuba that offers travelers an authentic and intimate experience of Cuban life. Literally translating to "private house," a casa particular is a privately-owned bed and breakfast or guesthouse, typically run by local families. Staying in a casa particular allows us to immerse in the local culture and gain insights into the daily lives of Cubans while complying with the laws of the United States government. It's a fantastic opportunity to connect with the warm and welcoming Cuban people while enjoying a home away from home during our stay in Cuba.
 
 
 
Lead Passenger
 The primary traveler on a reservation is responsible for receiving and relaying all communications/documents to the rest of the passengers on the same reservation. At the request of the lead passenger, all travelers on the reservation can be emailed. However, it is the responsibility of the lead passenger to ensure that all communications are relayed. 
 
Travel Medical Insurance 
  • Your boarding pass is the proof of insurance required to enter Cuba. Flights from the US to Cuba include Asistur insurance, which provides medical and repatriation coverage. To obtain additional coverage that protects your financial interest, please purchase Travel Insurance as an Extra Option or a commercially available policy. 
 
Pricing, Payments, and Availability 
Pricing and/or availability are subject to change until the deposit has been received. Upon payment of your deposit, an invoice with your payment schedule will be sent to you. Please ensure that payments are made on or before the scheduled due date. All payments must be sent via the invoice sent and are non-refundable and non-transferable. Future Travel Credit, less your non-refundable deposit, will be provided in accordance with the cancellation terms. 
 
Itinerary and Planned Activities
A full itinerary with activities on most days (full-day or half-day) is planned. Time to volunteer, provide support for the Cuban people, and for independent exploration is built into the itinerary.  Texas Girl Travel Reserves the right to make changes to the scheduled activities if a supplier becomes unavailable for any reason.
 
Deposit 
A $300 non-refundable and non-transferable deposit is required per person.

 

Currency and Pricing Fluctuations  
If the US dollar devalues, Texas Girl Travel LLC reserves the right to increase prices accordingly. Your final invoice will reflect increases resulting from currency devaluation.
 
Passport & Visa Requirements 
A valid passport is required for all passengers. If you need to apply for a passport, please visit the US Department of State website. For this tour, your passport should not expire before April 12, 2024. A clear copy of your passport should be submitted by August 15, 2023, to Texas Girl Travel.  Visa Requirements - U.S. citizens traveling to Cuba for tourism purposes were required to obtain a specific type of visa called the "Tourist Card" or "Tarjeta del Turista." The Tourist Card could be obtained through the airline when booking your flights or at the departure airport for $50-$100 per person. It's important to note that the Tourist Card doesn't guarantee entry if you don't meet other requirements.

Cancellation  
All cancellation requests must be submitted to Texas Girl Travel in writing. In the event of cancellation, all payments submitted to Texas Girl Travel, LLC., and suppliers are non-refundable and non-transferable. You are strongly encouraged to protect your travel investment by purchasing travel insurance with trip coverage which is not offered through Texas Girl Travel LLC. 
 
Cancellation Penalty
June 1, 2023 - $300 per person 
July 1, 2023 - 50% of the Package Cost
August 5, 2023 - 100% of the Package Cost
 
Double Occupancy 
Roommate Matching is not available for this itinerary. 
 
Currency and Credit Cards  
U.S. credit cards do not work in Cuba due to restrictions. It is recommended to bring enough cash for expenses. The average daily amount to bring is around $100 to $150 per person per day. Exchange currency upon arrival or exchanging USD for Euros is recommended.

 Name changes on reservations are not available.
