There’s a lot of culture to explore, due to the African and Caribbean cultural influences on the Dutch-Caribbean . As an island that was a major hub of the slave trade, many traditions and cultural practices reflect the experiences of enslaved Africans. The population of Curaçao is largely of African descent, with a significant portion identifying as Afro-Curaçaoan.African influences are also seen in the island's cuisine, art, and overall cultural identity, with many Afro-Caribbean traditions shaping daily life.
RESORT INFORMATION
Located just steps from the waters of Piscadera Bay, Il Mare’s modern and spacious beachfront suites offer a secluded escape, with custom-crafted furnishings, private oceanfront terraces with umbrella and lounge chairs, and direct beach access. The free-standing accommodations, spanning 377 square feet, are within walking distance of the main resort grounds and offer a king-sized bed, bathroom with two vanities and an indoor sitting area with an Italian-inspired design.
Guests will enjoy an elevated experience when staying in the Preferred Club Il Mare beachfront bungalows. The accommodations are complemented by butler service, exclusive amenities and dedicated areas, such as a private infinity pool, an à la carte Mediterranean restaurant, Battelino, serving fresh, seasonal fare al fresco with Italian influence, and a poolside bar serving top-shelf and zero-proof cocktails.
