Our trip begins in Aswan, working our way down the Nile to Luxor and finishing in Cairo on the Spring Equinox 2024. Some highlights include a cruise along the Nile and private visits to the Great Pyramid and Sphinx.

Itinerary:

  • Day 1: Welcome to Egypt! You will be met and assisted by a tour representative at the Cairo Airport and escorted to your hotel - Le Meridien Cairo Airport Hotel.  
  • Day 2: In the morning, you will meet the group for a Welcome Breakfast. Then we will fly to Aswan where we will visit the High Dam, Philae Temple, and a local coffee/tea shop at sunset with amazing views of the city. Then we will check into our hotel – Movenpick Resort Aswan.
  • Day 3: In the morning, we will fly to Abu Simbel to explore this amazing temple complex built into a mountainside. In the afternoon, we will tour the city of Aswan and visit a cotton shop and a healing oil shop. Then we will enjoy High Tea at sunset at the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Hotel. Then we will board our luxury Nile River Cruise.
  • Day 4: As we journey along the Nile, we will stop at two temples today - Kom Ombo Temple, the only temple dedicated to two gods, and Edfu Temple, one of the most well-preserved temples in Egypt. We will then continue on through the Esna Locks. 
  • Day 5: We will begin the day with an optional hot air balloon flight at sunrise over the Valley of the Kings. After breakfast, we will explore the Valley of the Kings with a visit to the Tomb of Tutankhamun followed by the Valley of the Queens to see the Tomb of Nefertari. Then we will see the Colossi of Memnon and visit an alabaster shop.
  • Day 6: After disembarking from the cruise, we will visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, the El-Assasif Tombs, and the Ramesseum. After lunch, we will visit Habu Temple and then check into our hotel - Hilton Luxor Resort and Spa.
  • Day 7: Today we will visit Karnak Temple, a "sacred place" built by generations of Pharaohs. After lunch, we will visit the papyrus shop. Then we will have the option of a shopping trip to the Gohar Jewelry Shop and the Luxor Market or an afternoon of leisure at the hotel.
  • Day 8: In the morning, we will travel by bus to Dendara Temple and then to Abydos Temple. We will have a private visit to the Osirion, where the god Osiris is believed to be buried, and where we will see one of the oldest known hieroglyphs of the Flower of Life.   
  • Day 9: Today we will visit the Luxor Museum and the Avenue of the Sphinxes. Then we will board a sailboat called a felucca and enjoy a traditional Egyptian lunch while sailing along the Nile. In the evening, we will visit Luxor Temple. 
  • Day 10: In the morning, we will fly back to Cairo. We will have lunch in Azhar Park and then visit the Citadel and Alabaster Mosque. Afterward, we will visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization to see the Royal Mummies. Then we will check into our hotel – Marriott Mena House Hotel.
  • Day 11: We will visit the Fayoum Oasis and see the Meidum and Hawara Pyramids. We will have lunch at Tunis Village and then explore the pottery shops.
  • Day 12: Today we will explore several ancient pyramids. We will start in Saqqara with the Step and Unas Pyramids followed by the Serapeum, which houses the largest sarcophagi ever discovered. After lunch, we will visit a training center for carpet making and then visit the Bent and Red Pyramids at Dahshur.
  • Day 13: We will spend the day at the Grand Egyptian Museum which contains many important artifacts of ancient Egyptian history and houses the world’s largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities including the treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamen. In the afternoon, we will have the option of a shopping trip to a local bazaar or an afternoon of leisure at the hotel.
  • Day 14: On this Spring Equinox, we will spend the day at the Giza Plateau. At sunrise, we will have a private visit to the Great Pyramid and go inside the King’s and Queen’s chambers. After breakfast, we will explore Khafre’s and Menkaure’s Pyramids, the Sphinx, and the Valley Temple. We will also ride a camel at the pyramids. At sunset, we will have a private visit to the Sphinx where we will have a chance to explore this wonderous monument up close. In the evening, we will have a Farewell Dinner to celebrate our amazing journey and the friendships we have made along the way. 
  • Day 15: A tour representative will transfer you to the Cairo Airport and assist you with your departure from Egypt with memories to last a lifetime!
 
Terms & Conditions:

Please read the following terms and conditions. They limit our liability, limit the liability of air carriers, and state the terms and conditions of your trip. By accepting final tour documents you accept all these terms and conditions. These terms are only applicable to US residents.

A non-refundable deposit of $750 is required to guarantee your reservation. If the departure date is within 60 days, full payment is required to book your space. 

We recommend you obtain Travel Insurance covering various risks of interruption, illness, injury, loss of property, and the like.  

CANCELLATION SCHEDULE

60+ days before travel, $750 penalty (total deposit)

59-30 days before travel 25% penalty of total tour cost

29-15 days before travel 50% penalty of total tour cost

14-1 days before travel 100% penalty of total tour cost

Passport/Visa/Inoculation/Travel Insurance: Passports are required for international travel. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your scheduled return date and should have sufficient blank pages for visas and immigration stamps. Visas are required for travel to many areas. Many countries also have inoculation requirements. Most countries require foreign visitors to have a valid medical protection plan on entry. Requirements vary by country and can change. You should obtain up-to-date information from the authorities of the countries involved. Sterling Journeys and Mo Luxury Tours shall not be liable for delay or denial of entry due to inability to satisfy entry requirements or entry authority’s questioning or refusal to accept proof of entry requirements. 

Medical Attention: We do not employ or provide medical personnel. Any needed medical attention must be sought at a local facility, if available, at the client’s expense. Sterling Journeys and Mo Luxury Tours are not responsible or liable for loss or cost incurred due to unavailability of medical services, inability to obtain or delay in obtaining medical services if available, medical services obtained, or level of care or services received. You must bring an adequate supply of your medication, if any, for the duration of the tour. Medical services abroad are not the same as you may be accustomed to. Sterling Journeys and Mo Luxury Tours are not responsible for the lack of, or the provision of medical services. 

Terrain Conditions: Some guided tours can include rough terrain, walking over unpaved or uneven pavement, steps, bumps, locations that may not be easily accessible or accessible by wheelchair, and other challenging conditions.

Photography During Travel: We reserve the right to take photographs during the operation of the tour for promotional purposes and, by booking your tour, you consent to your images being used for this purpose. If you do not consent, you must inform us at the beginning of the tour. 

Luggage: Sterling Journeys and Mo Luxury Tours shall not be responsible for loss or damage to luggage, before, during, or after the tour.

Changes: When services and accommodations described in this itinerary cannot be supplied or the itinerary is changed due to delays or other causes of any kind or nature beyond Sterling Journeys or Mo Luxury Tours' control, we may seek to supply comparable services, accommodations, and itineraries. There shall be no refund in these circumstances. Sterling Journeys and Mo Luxury Tours reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary and/or cancel any tour, and shall have no liability whatsoever from or relating to such adjustments or cancellation. 

Limits of Responsibility: Sterling Journeys, Mo Luxury Tours, your travel advisor, tour operators, and subcontractors of services act only as agents for the supplier regarding your travel, whether by plane, car, motor coach, ship, railroad, or other transportation modes, and shall not be liable for injury, damage, loss, additional expense, accident, delay, schedule change, or other irregularity. Any of these, and other events, may occur, whether due to the use of or defect in a vehicle, an act of war, insurrection, civil uprising, military action, strike, weather, disaster, terrorist act, an act of God, an act of government, or other act or incident or occurrence or omission, in either the country of origin, destination, area of passage or elsewhere, or for other reason, or due to acts or default of any company or person involved in arranging the tour, or in the chain of supply. All such injury, damage, loss, additional expense, accident, delay, schedule change, or other irregularity will be at your risk and cost.

Additional Risks: Additional risks and dangers may arise including, but are not limited to, hazards of traveling in undeveloped areas, hazards of travel by boat, train, automobile, aircraft, and other means of conveyance, forces of nature, political unrest, other unrest, terrorism, hazardous local customs and practices, differing levels of sanitation, differing standards of safety, risks associated with water, food, plants, insects and animal, accident or illness in areas lacking means of rapid evacuation or medical facilities, terrorist acts, and acts of national and local governments and unrest and acts of others against governments. These risks are not an exhaustive list but are examples of many kinds of risks. You are voluntarily participating in these activities with the knowledge that there are significant dangers involved, and you hereby agree to accept any and all risks. As lawful consideration for the agreement with Sterling Journeys and Mo Luxury Tours to participate in such tours and activities you agree you will not make a claim against Sterling Journeys or Mo Luxury Tours or its personnel or sue for bodily injury, emotional trauma, death, property loss or damage or other loss, cost or expense, however, caused, as a result of or related to your contracting for, traveling to or from, or in any and every other way participating in the tour. You release Sterling Journeys and Mo Luxury Tours and its personnel from any and all claims, known or unknown, arising from contracting for, traveling to or from, and in any and every way participating in a tour. This release of liability and assumption of risk agreement is entered into on behalf of you and all members of your family and party, also including minors accompanying you. This agreement also binds your heirs, legal representatives, and assigns.

Error and Omissions: In the case of computer or human billing errors, we reserve the right to re-invoice participants with correct billing. Sterling Journeys and Mo Luxury Tours cannot be held responsible for printing or typographical errors, or errors arising from unforeseen circumstances. Moreover, photographs and descriptions of locations or attractions are merely representatives of conditions that existed at the time of itinerary printing and conditions may not be the same at the time of your journey. All bookings made with any provider of any transport, facilities, meals, other goods, or of any service are subject to terms and conditions and exclusions and/or limitations of liability imposed by them in relation to matters not covered particularly and expressly by our agreement with Sterling Journeys or Mo Luxury Tours. If you decide that you do not want to visit a country or part of a country you intended to visit because of any law, condition, or requirement of any government or governmental authority, official, servant, or agent, you are responsible for any costs, expenses, charges, fees, losses, or damage incurred as a consequence and any cancellation or amendment fees. Neither Sterling Journeys nor Mo Luxury Tours nor any of their staff or agents, accept any responsibility or liability for your acts, omissions, defaults, conduct, state of health, condition, or circumstances.
