known as the “Teñideros”. Rio Celeste Rainforest Hike is one of the most beautiful and scenic
rivers in Costa Rica, located in the lush rainforests of Tenorio Volcano National Park,
undiscovered by mass tourism. Once at the park entrance we start the hike through this
primary Humid and Rainy Forest, several fauna species and exuberant flora are easily found in
this ecosystem. During this 3-hour walk, we visit a magnificent waterfall, the place where the
river dies with the light blue coloration, hot water springs (swimming not allowed to park’s
administrative rules); fumaroles of volcanic gas, where temperatures up to 1500 °F are
expelled from time to time, and the “Borbollones”, where exhaust gas at the base of the river
give the appearance of boiling water. A delicious lunch to get our energy back for the next
activity. After the lunch we will continue with Llanos de Cortés waterfall, The falls are wide and wispy, with thin streams of water tumbling along the mossy rocks. Rocky cliffs are visible
