The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Alabama is the largest golf course construction project ever attempted. Launched in the late 1980s, it was the vision of Robert Trent Jones, Sr.—one of the world’s premier golf course architects with over 500 designs worldwide. Today, the Trail features 11 sites across Alabama with championship-caliber layouts designed to stand the test of time. On this tour, we’ll play two of these spectacular courses in the Birmingham area.

This trip is especially meaningful as we honor the memory of our dear friend, Donald “Duck” Campbell. Duck was an avid golfer who played weekly with friends, and he had been helping plan this very trip before his passing. We’re proud to carry his spirit with us on this journey.

To make the experience even more enjoyable, we’ve selected a beautiful hotel conveniently located near the courses. With its wealth of amenities, it’s the perfect spot for a “stay and play”—and a great opportunity to bring the family along.

Itinerary:

  • Day 1 : Travel to Birmingham, 2:00 pm tee time at Oxmoor Vally Golf Course, Evening Meet Up:  Uptown Jazz Lounge
  • Day 2: Golf at Ross Bridge Golf course 11:10 am tee time OR Enjoy the resort, explore Birmingham, take a wine tasting train ride, go shopping at the gallaria, Evening Meet Up: The Eighty Eight Bham
  • Day 3: Breakfast and travel home
 
 

Additional Booking Details:

This trip requires contracts, so at this stage we’re asking for your commitment along with your deposit to secure the rooms and tee times. If you’d like additional hotel nights, please note that on the booking form and we’ll adjust your invoice accordingly. Your card will not be charged until the contracts are confirmed, and you’ll be notified before any payment is processed.

RTJ GOLF TRAIL AT ROSS BRIDGE

Beautifully carved into the rolling terrain of Shannon Valley, the scope of this property will amaze even the most-traveled golfer. Ross Bridge was named one of the top golf resorts in North America by GOLF Magazine in 2019 and has been a favorite of Golf Digest editors for the past four years.

The course meanders through indigenous landscape and around the 259-room Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa. Ross Bridge is the fifth-longest course in the world but offers multiple tees for golfers of all levels. Symbolic of an old parkland-style course, ten holes play along the banks of two significant lakes connected by a spectacular waterfall dropping 80 feet between the 9th and 18th greens. A gristmill added to the waterfall reflects the history of this old mining site. The beauty and challenge of each hole leads many to believe there is not one signature hole but possibly eighteen.
