This is a trip I plan every year and it ALWAYS sells out immediately! That’s because it’s OVER THE TOP AMAZING!

This isn’t a cookie cutter trip! This trip is VERY unique and so incredibly special! I work hard to plan every meal we’ll be enjoying and every last detail.    Bring on the Italian food and wine!

Fall is my FAVORITE time to visit Italy! Our trip is early in November so the weather should be lovely! I’m hoping for temperatures in the 60’s! Plus, it’s not crowded this time of year! No big summer crowds!

For the main trip you’ll fly out Nov. 1, arriving in Florence Nov. 2.

 

But, you can also fly in and join me two days early! I strongly suggest this OPTIONAL pre-trip add-on. It’s very affordable and it’s a great way to see and do a little more! For this we’ll fly out Oct. 30, 2024, arriving in Florence Oct. 31. We’ll enjoy two fabulous fun filled days in Florence before we move to our resort in Tuscany! More details on all this in a minute.

First, let’s talk about more about this trip. I’m very hands on when I plan my group vacations. We stay in THE BEST hotels and eat the BEST food!  The daily itinerary for this trip is INCREDIBLE!

My trips are also a GREAT value! So much is included on this trip like breakfast every morning and most meals! We’ll enjoy some amazing Italian lunches and many gourmet multi-course dinners with wine are included too! Because we are a group I negotiate to get the best rates!

Itinerary:

Friday, November 1:

    • Group departs USA (those who have not purchased the pre-trip extension to Florence).
    • Flights should be purchased directly with the airline. Rose Travel Group will send out the information on the flights that Amy and Hoyt will be on with information on booking the flights. Rose Travel Group will assist with coordinating flights and with any questions you may have!
    • We may offer group flights based on where people will be flying out of - if we have 10 or more people flying out of the same airport, we will look at group flight pricing. This information will come later!

Day 1 (Saturday, November 2):

    • Arrive in Florence.
    • Check in at Villa Casagrande at 3:00 pm. You can leave your luggage in the lobby and enjoy free time in Figline if you arrive before check in time.
    • Welcome tour of the Villa.
    • Welcome dinner at Villa restaurant.
    • Please Note: Transfer costs will be extra if you are not booking the pre-trip extension to Florence. 

Day 2 (Sunday, November 3):

    • Breakfast at hotel.
    • All truffle pasta lunch with Italian wines
    • 2 wine tastings at local cellars
    • Transfer back to the Villa (1.5 hour journey)
    • Rest of the day at leisure.
 

Day 3 (Monday, November 4):

    • Breakfast at hotel and head to Arezzo. 
    • Walking tour of Arezzo. 
    • Free time to explore beautiful Cortona.
    • Be ready to get cooking with the Chef Laura Franceschetti! 
    • Travel back to your Villa   

 

Day 4 (Tuesday, November 5):

    • Breakfast at hotel.
    • Depart to Siena.
    • Visit the Mercato delle Merci and then strolling along the narrow Medieval streets of the city, flanked by splendid palaces and historic shops, you will reach Piazza del Campo, of which the Palazzo Pubblico (Town Hall) is the focal point. You will suddenly get to the spectacular Cathedral of the 12th century, of which you can admire the magnificent architecture and the splendor of the polychrome marbles. 

    • Enjoy some time at leisure for shopping and lunch on own.

    • Depart to towards San Gimignano for independent visit 
    • Explore the village with your tour manager and stop for an ice cream tasting with award-winning, master ice-cream maker, Sergio Dondoli.
    • Reach Tenuta Torciano and enjoy a tour of the farm followed by an excellent wine pairing dinner including with Fiorentina Steak (Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Brunello di Montalcino and Chianti Classico).
    • Transfer back to the villa (1 hour and half journey).
 
Day 5 (Wednesday, November 6):
    • Breakfast at hotel.
    • Head to Florence and make a stop at the American Cemetary.
    • We’ll have a guided tour of Florence to see and learn about this vibrant city and its art and history.

    • We’ll explore and shop at huge Florence central public food market! We enjoy a delicious lunch with wine in Florence! We’ll go in search and try the best gelato in Florence too!

    • Depart towards Lucca area to reach Antico Casale. 
    • Tour of the farm to pick vegetables that will be used for your cooking class based on local genuine products, ending with lunch drinks included. You will prepare Bruschette, Zuppa Frantoiana (vegetables soup), pasta (Tagliatelle) and Zuccotto Fiorentino (typical local dessert).
    • Transfer back to the Villa (1.5 hour journey).

  

Day 6 (Thursday, November 7)

    • Breakfast at resort. 
    • 10:00 AM or 5:00 PM - Cooking lesson by Chef Mamma Anna. She will arrive teach you how to prepare typical Tuscan dishes and other Italian specialties. Afterwards, you will eat your lunch or dinner.

 

Day 7 (Friday, November 8)

    • Breakfast at our hotel.
    • Depart for Montepulciano (1 hour journey) and spend your day exploring the town and having a wine tasting and lunch in the gorgeous hilltop town of Montepulciano.
    • Transfer back to the Villa.
    • Amazing gourmet farewell dinner at a huge, beautiful Tuscan Villa right next door to the musician Sting’s famous Tuscan Villa. Dinner includes wine and Tuscan grilled  steak , pasta, and more.

 

Day 8 (Saturday, November 9)

    • Breakfast at hotel.  
    • Departure to Florence airport if taking transfer with group.
    • If staying for add-on to Rome, you'll transfer to the add-on location (more information to come!)

Cancellation policy

Cancellation of travel must be made in writing and is effective from the date we receive the written notification. Any trip deposit or payment is non-refundable.  Rose Travel and The Cooking Mom's Culinary Vacations incur costs with the suppliers of your trip well in advance of your departure date. At the effective date of cancellation all overdue payments will be required, any additional payments will not be required.  We highly recommend trip insurance and is available for purchase at booking.
