Talk about southern charm! Charleston, South Carolina is FULL of it! From gorgeous homes with big beautiful porches, cobblestone streets, horse drawn carriages, a lovely promenade and park overlooking the harbor, world class shopping and AMAZING food, Charleston has it all! Join me for 4 FABULOUS nights in Charleston next spring! To make this trip even more fun, we’ll be there on the first weekend in May to celebrate BOTH the Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo!
We’ll fly into Charleston, Thursday, May 2nd through Monday, May 6th. I’ve found the most charming Inn for us! It’s so cute and elegant! The location is PERFECT! It’s right in the heart of town near all the best restaurants and shopping! It’s close everything but inside it’s a calm retreat from all the action and fun.
The rooms are beautiful! The beds are so comfy with the luxurious bedding. The rooms are fresh and clean and decorated so cute with local artwork! This inn has lots of special touches! All the soaps and bath products in your bathroom are locally made! LOVE THAT! Each room also has a mini fridge which is aways nice!
I’m all about happy hour! We’ll have one every night on this trip! Our hotel puts out a beautiful wine and cheese buffet with crackers and fruit and even locally made jams and pickles. There are local beers too! It’s so pretty and so good! There’s even milk and cookies for us every night before bed! Now, we’re talking! This place is really special!
We’ll kick off this trip with an included gourmet several course welcome dinner at one of Charleston’s top restaurants! The food in Charleston is AMAZING! I can’t wait for all the delicious southern food! Bring on the shrimp and grits! My favorite!
Charleston is also know for it’s famous she crab soup! You gotta try it when we’re there! If you’re a seafood lover, you’ll be in heaven in Charleston. Our hotel is right across the street from one of the best seafood restaurants in town!
You can’t go to Charleston with out enjoying some Carolina BBQ! Besides our welcome dinner, I’ve also planned a big farewell BBQ with smoked ribs and other smoked meats plus all your favorite southern sides including Mac ‘n cheese! This BBQ dinner is on Sunday night May 5th, which is also Cindy de Mayo, so bring on the margaritas!
This trip is such a great value! Besides, two delicious dinners, breakfast every day, a wine and cheese buffet nightly, a horse and carriage ride is also included on this trip! You can’t go to Charleston without doing this! It’s the best way to see and learn about the town. On our first full day, we’ll get to know the town with a guided carriage tour of Charleston.
We’ll see the beautiful Rainbow Row houses, the elegant French quarter of town and so much more. We’ll also learn about the great history of Charleston!
You’ll have lots of free time on this trip to explore this charming town and the historic Charleston Market. It’s a huge market filled with all lots of locally made jewelry, pottery, clothing, art, foods, and the famous sweetgrass baskets. The shopping in Charleston is FANTASTIC!
You’ll also be able to sign up for some optional add-on experiences during the trip, like a sunset boat ride, a walking tour of the city, a plantation tour, and even a ghost tour! You can do as little or as much as you want on this trip!
I’m a HUGE fan of the Kentucky Derby. In fact, I was born on Derby Day. Charleston is a great place to be to watch the Derby on Saturday, May 4. There are lots of places hosting Derby watch parties! I’m all in! I can’t wait to get dressed up in a Derby outfit.
I guess I need to find a hat! Bring on the mint juleps! I can’t wait! I hope you’ll join me and my husband Hoyt for this SUPER FUN, special vacation to Charleston! Come with your husband, your boyfriend, your girlfriends, your daughter, or come alone. You’ll NEVER feel alone on my trips! I can only take a limited number of people so don’t wait to book your spot! I hope you’ll join me!
