Mission Trip to I Can Fly Academy

Please join NMC in our mission trip to support the I Can Fly Academy.

The I Can Fly Academy is a mission-minded organization dedicated to serving vulnerable children and youth living within impoverished villages throughout Kenya. Since its youth initiative began in 2008, they have provided quality education, rescue programs, shelter, meals, and enrichment activities to scores of children affected by extreme poverty, female genital mutilation, early marriage, tribal war, abandonment, and children orphaned by HIV/AIDS.

They have a proven track record of breaking gender disparities and educational barriers for children from disadvantaged communities.  Reducing oppression and cultural abuses is their core objective. They make it possible for children and youth who would normally be excluded from educational opportunities to have a formal education in Kenya.

The New Mt. Calvary Mission trip will work with the I Can Fly Academy to support their mission and advance their community. Specific missionary activities will be coordinated by Pastor Givens and Pastor Dawson, based on the needs of the school and community. 

What's included in this trip:

• 9 nights accommodation
• Bed and breakfast meals in Nairobi & Machakos

• Dinners and some lunches 
• Electronic Travel Authorization
• International airfare
• Gratuities

What You Need To Know:

1. The trip costs $1700 to $2000 per person without airfare (approximately $3000 & $3500 with air). If you are sharing a room, the cost is $1700, or if you are not sharing a room, the cost is $2000.
2.  Your flight will depart LAX on Feb 23rd and return to LAX on March 6th, 2027. 
3. Your passport cannot expire before September 2027 and must have at least 2 blank pages when you travel to Kenya.
4. Kenya requires an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to enter the country, which you must obtain on your own.  The current cost is approximately $35.00. To apply, you will need: 1) a passport-type picture and 2) a picture of your passport to submit your application. You will submit everything on their website and do not need to send them your passport.

The following payment plan can be followed.

• 1st half of the Registration Fee        $150 from April 1^st – 30th, 2026
• 2^nd half (final) Registration Fee      $150 by February 15, 2027

• Non-Refundable Deposit of $350.00 due on June 15, 2026
• Monthly Payment of at least $175 starting July 15, 2026 – You can pay more to pay off your trip sooner.
• Final payment is due by January 15, 2027 
• Airfare is not included at this time.

Cancellation policy:

$350 Paid to Black Onyx Travel by June 15 is non-refundable

$1200 Refundable through January 30th, 2027
