Join Tripping with KC Couture as we experience the beauty of South Africa as we venture to Capetown, Johannesburg and spend two days on Safari. As the largest city in South Africa and the biggest economic powerhouse on the African continent– Johannesburg is definitely a place worth visiting. A lively city with a population of 4.4 million people in the central city district alone, there is much to see and do both in the city and its surrounding townships.

ITINERARY:

  • Day 1 - Tuesday, 3/10 US - South Africa: 
  • Depart US for South Africa.

  • Day 2 - Wednesday, 3/11 - Capetown:
  • Arrive in Capetown, South Africa. Welcome to the "Mother City." Get checked into the hotel and enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at leisure. Meet to be transported to Welcome Dinner.

  • Day 3 - Thursday, 3/12 - Capetown:
  • Breakfast at hotel. Join a local expert to explore the charms of Cape own and see its highlights. Ascend via Cable Car (ticket extra) to the top of the iconic Table Mountain for incredible city and bay views. You'll have a chance to view and photograph the Table Mountain from a distance from the historic, colorful neighborhood known as Bo-Kapp (the Malay Quarter)

  • Day 4 - Friday, 3/13 - Capetown:
  • Breakfast at hotel. Depart from the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront by ferry across Table Bay to Robben Island, the infamous home to the maximum security prison where Nelson Mandela and others were jailed. You’ll have a chance to visit the prison and explore Murray’s Bay Harbor precinct before returning to the waterfront by ferry.  
  • We will spend our afternoon on a Winelands Tour.

  • Day 5 - Saturday, 3/14 - Capetown:
  • Breakfast at hotel. Day at leisure. 

  • Day 6 - Sunday, 3/15 - Kruger National Park:
  • Breakfast at hotel. After a leisurely morning in Johannesburg, we’ll journey through beautiful countryside to the picturesque Machadodorp to see its trout-abundant Elands River and down into the Lowveld area to Mpumalanga (“place of the rising sun”). This sunkissed region boasts citrus groves and tropical fruit orchards galore, and we’ll stop at one of the colorful roadside stands for a taste of the area’s exotic fruits and nuts. We’ll enjoy a sumptuous dinner at our hotel together and rest up for tomorrow’s safari adventure. 

  • Day 7 - Monday, 3/16 - Kruger National Park:
  • Breakfast at hotel. You’ll want to document this exhilarating, unforgettable open-vehicle wildlife drive in Kruger Park. A local safari ranger leads us on a search for lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalos (the “Big 5”), as well as sightings of hippopotamus, crocodiles, zebras, giraffes and exotic birds in their natural habitat. After a lunch break, we’ll continue on an additional afternoon guided open-vehicle safari. The evening offers ample time to relax poolside before a lavish final dinner

  • Day 8 - Tuesday, 3/17 - Johannesburg:
  • Breakfast at hotel.  Head to Mandela Square. 

  • Day 9 - Wednesday, 3/18 - Johannesburg:
  • Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the afternoon in Maboneng, Johannesburg's version of Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood. Here you'll spend the afternoon enjoying a phenomenal array of art galleries, retail shopping, music, aritsan food, and produce ... the perfect way to experience South Africa's culture and people. That evening, enjoy a Farewell Dinner in Joburg. Overnight in Johannesburg.

  • Day 10 - Thursday, 3/19 - Johannesburg - US:
  • After breakfast, check out of the hotel and depart on a half-day tour of Soweto. Experience Johannesburg fascinating glimpse of the bustling neighborhood life of Soweto, the most metropolitan township in the country, setting trends in politics, fashion, music, dance, and language. Visit Nelson Mandela's former home which has been completely renovated and hosts a visitor center as well as excellent multi-media and audio-visual displays outlining the history of the Mandela family and personal life of Nelson Mandela. After lunch on your own, continue to the Apartheid Museum where you will enjoy a journey through the racial segregation experienced by millions of South Africans.  From there, stop for a quick dinner before continuing to the Airport for your flight home. 

  • Day 11 - Friday, 3/20 - Arrive in the US:
   Flight arrives at JFK

TRAVEL INSURANCE:

Missing a vacation is bad enough, losing your money that you paid for said vacation something else:-(!We require Travel insurance on our Couture Experiences as funds are non-refundable and non-transferable. Your insurance premium is based on the cost of your trip and covers you during the entire travel process.

VACCINES:
  • It is recommended that you check with your doctor 6-8 weeks prior to our departure date to determine which if any vaccines you may need. Specific information can be found at the CDC here 


TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
  • Please be sure that you have read our Terms & Conditions.
  • Due to strict contractual obligations, any and all payments are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE!

  • Travel insurance is not included in this package, however we highly recommend it.  We will be happy to add it to your package for an additional fee.
  • Monthly payments are required to maintain your reservation.
  • Payments not received by close of business on your monthly due date will incur an automatic $25 late fee.
  • Payments more than 30 days past due could result the cancellation of your reservation and all monies being forfeited.
  • Any late payment requests must be submitted in writing to info@trippingwithkccouture.
  • Any reservations not paid in full by the final payment day will will be cancelled and all monies forfeited.
  • Passengers are responsible for ensuring that they have the proper travel documents. Passports are required to be valid for at least 6 months after the date of travel.
  • Passengers are required to have at least two, entirely blank (unstamped) visa pages (i.e. one side of such a page not front and back thereof) in their passport, each time entry is sought into South Africa. These pages are in addition to the endorsement/amendment pages at the back of the passport. South African government regulations prohibit airlines from boarding passengers without the required blank visa page. Children 17 & under will be required to present an unabridged full birth certificate. Extracts or copies are not acceptable. If both parents are not traveling with the child, additional documentation is required
  • A VISA is NOT required for travel to South Africa for US Citizens visiting 90 days or less.
  • Reservations must be made in your FULL NAME as it appears on your Identification|travel documentation. 

  • Seat assignments ARE at the discretion of airlines and are not guaranteed.
