The 39th Circle City Classic football game features Mississippi Valley State University Delta Devils (Visitor side) vs. North Carolina Central University Eagles (Home side), bringing an exciting match-up between one of the 1st teams to participate in the Circle City Classic and the 2022 #1 HBCU football team. Two teams play, but only one can leave Indianapolis as a Circle City Classic Champion. You don't want to miss this exciting match-up and the "Battle of the Bands", featuring the Mississippi Valley State Mean Green Marching Machine and the North Carolina Central University Sound Machine Marching Band. This is more than just a game; it's a showcase of HBCU traditions and educational achievements.
The net proceeds from Circle City Classic help support youth initiatives for each organization. Since 1984, over $1 milllion in scholarships have been awarded to deserving youth who attend colleges and universities. Additionally, each year the Classic's educational partner, the Indianapolis Black Alumni Council, host an educational college fair that exposes over 2,500 youth to colleges and universities with scholarship opportunities exceeding $3 million.

Join us Saturday, September 23, 2023 as nearly 100,000 spectators watch the Classic Parade weave its way through downtown Indianapolis. Parade Grand Marshals have included renowned celebrities such as Jerry Rice, Kelly Rowland, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Soulfood’s Boris Kodjoe, and Grammy Award-winning gospel recording artist, Yolanda Adams.
