FOLLOWING THE FOOTSTEPS OF OUR ANCESTORS

A Journey of Return, Resilience & Restoration

This is not a vacation.
This is a return.

Following the Footsteps of Our Ancestors is a 10-day journey through Ghana that traces life before slavery, walks the path of the transatlantic slave trade, and honors the triumphant return of the diaspora through sacred ceremony, culture, and connection.

You don’t just visit Ghana.
You arrive.

TOUR LENGTH:

TOUR DESTINATION:

Ghana, West Africa

TOUR EXPERIENCE:
Over the course of 10 days, you will move through Ghana with purpose, tracing the
footsteps of our ancestors in a way that is both grounding and transformative. You will walk the underground tunnels of Jamestown, following the forced coastal route taken by those who came before us, then stand at Assin Manso where they took their final bath before an unknown future.

In Cape Coast and Elmina, you will confront the truth within the castle walls while honoring the strength it took to endure them. Beyond the narrative of slavery, you will experience the richness of life in Ghana through meaningful engagement with local communities, artisans, and cultural leaders. Your journey will take you to Kumasi, the heart of the Ashanti Kingdom, where you will receive a traditional African name in a sacred ceremony that marks your return. And in moments of music, movement, and shared expression, you will not only witness the culture—you will feel it, carry it, and recognize that every step you take is a continuation of a story that never ended.

TOUR DESCRIPTION:
Following the Footsteps of Our Ancestors is a powerful 10-day journey through Ghana that traces life before slavery, walks the path of the transatlantic slave trade, and honors the return of the diaspora through sacred ceremony and cultural immersion. From ancestral grounds to a traditional African naming ceremony, this experience centers resilience, identity, and the responsibility of returning home.

A NOTE ON SACRED EXPERIENCES
Some moments on this journey require stillness.

At certain sites, you may be asked to:
Remove your shoes
Lower your voice
Put your camera away
This is not restriction.
This is reverence.

We honor the spaces we enter and the people whose stories we carry.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

You didn’t find this experience by accident.

There is a difference between traveling to a place and being called to it.

This journey is designed for those who feel that pull.

Those who understand that history is not something to observe from a distance

but something to stand in, feel, and carry forward.

We will walk sacred ground.
We will sit with truth.
We will celebrate what could not be erased.

And when you leave, you will not leave the same.

THIS EXPERIENCE IS FOR YOU IF:
You feel a personal connection to the African diaspora
You are emotionally prepared to engage with difficult, honest history
You value cultural integrity over curated aesthetics
You are open to reflection, reverence, and growth
You understand that returning home carries responsibility

This is not passive travel.
This is intentional presence.
