This morning, visit the Apgar area. Hike the Avalanche Lake Trail a 5.9-mile out-and-back trail near Lake Mc Donald. Hike the Trail of the Cedars a 0.9-mile loop trail.
After hiking enjoy exploring Lake McDonalds beautiful beach and pristine views of the lake and mountain range while enjoying Apgar Village. Stop and have lunch prior to your afternoon adventure at either Eddie's Cafe or Nell's @ Swiftcurrent Motor Inn.
This afternoon, enjoy a half day whitewater rafting adventure. Your two-to-three-hour journey on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River begins with a mellow float to take in the history and views of this incredible area. Then, enter a beautiful canyon with small rapids and deep clear water pools as the excitement begins to rise. Keep an eye out for wildlife and west slope cutthroat trout swimming by as you and your guide navigate the rapids.
Get your heart pumping aboard this two-to-three-hour whitewater adventure. The journey begins at Moccasin Creek, starting with a mellow float to take in the history and incredible views, and ends with nine rapids through John Stevens Canyon. From June to early July, the high-water rapids are certain to thrill you. From the end of July through September, you can enjoy a more relaxing class II and III ride with scenic features only available during low water.
Get to know Glacier National Park during this half-day adventure. Take in the nature around you by spotting fish in our crystal-clear waters and other wildlife along the banks of the river. From adrenaline seekers to casual adventurers, this float has something for everyone.

Spend a scenic half day on the river catching and releasing native and wild westslope cutthroat trout.
What to wear: On a sunny day, wear shorts, a synthetic fishing shirt and a hat, along with shoes that can get wet and will stay on your feet.
What to bring: If you wear eyeglasses or sunglasses, be sure to bring along a retainer to hold them on (available for purchase in our store).
Bottled water is recommended on hot days.
Bring along a towel and dry clothing to change into after the trip. We recommend locking both in your vehicle and leaving car keys in our office for safekeeping.
Early in the season or on cooler days, wool or fleece shirts and hats will make your fishing adventure more enjoyable. Complimentary waders and wading boots are available in inclement weather.

Day 4 -
Today start your morning on a Red Jammer Bus tours which is a great way to experience Glacier National Park's breathtaking scenery. You will take in the grandeur of Glacier National Park "The Crown of the Continent,” as you begin your day with a scenic drive through the area passing by St Mary’s to Many Glacier. Explore the Many Glacier section of the park. You can choose to spend your day with options of hiking, horseback riding, kayaking or canoeing, or just relaxing on the shores of Swiftcurrent Lake or Lake Josephine.
Start the tour on the unique and rugged eastern side of Glacier. Along the way, visit the stunning St. Mary Lake area and historic Rising Sun Motor Inn. Then, travel up the Going-to-the-Sun Road to the Continental Divide and Logan Pass. Take in the infinite splendors and majestic scenery before returning to the flowering valleys and open prairies along the eastern slopes of Glacier National Park.

For lunch, stop at Kyivo Mercantile. Nestled gracefully amidst the majestic landscapes of Glacier National Park, the quaint bakery and mercantile at Kiowa junction is located on a picturesque corner of the Blackfeet Nation. The name "Kyiyo," derived from the Blackfeet word for bear.
This afternoon, enjoy some stunning hikes in the Many Glacier portion of the park. Some great hikes in this area include Apikuni Falls (1 mile), Grinnell Glacierand Grinnell Lake (5.3 miles), or Iceberg Lake (4.8 miles)
Day 5-
This morning, enjoy some time in downtown Whitefish where small-town charm meets world-class hospitality. Whitefish is located on the shores of Whitefish Lake and at the base of Big Mountain. Whitefish is a year-round destination with plentiful attractions and a mixed array of shops, coffee houses, and restaurants. If you are interested, you can take a short drive up to Whitefish Mountain Resort for a Scenic Gondola Ride Up Big Moutain or other activities along with hiking.
This afternoon, paddle into Paradise, exploring Lake McDonald in Glacier Park. Lake McDonald, spanning over 10 miles in length and 1 mile in width, is the largest lake in Glacier National Park. Surrounded by towering mountains and dense forests, this glacial lake offers a tranquil haven for kayakers to immerse themselves in nature’s splendor. As you glide across the calm waters, the vibrant hues of the lake will mesmerize you, reflecting the surrounding peaks and creating a picture-perfect scene.

Explore the nooks and crannies of the lake and even paddle back to the off beaten areas to go on a hike away from the crowds all from the comfort of your own private Kayak for the day.
Easy enough to transport with one person but preferably two, it’s just a short walk from the pickup location at Eddie’s Cafe down to Lake McDonald.
With your kayak you can explore the hidden gems that Lake McDonald has to offer. Paddle along the eastern shore and discover secluded beaches where you can take a break, soak up the sun, and relish in the serenity of the surroundings. Alternatively, venture towards the western shore to witness the grandeur of the mountains mirrored in the glassy waters.
Lake McDonald is teeming with wildlife, providing ample opportunities for unforgettable encounters. Keep your eyes peeled for bald eagles soaring above, ospreys diving for fish, and the occasional curious deer or elk that may wander near the shoreline. Remember to maintain a respectful distance and observe these creatures in their natural habitat.
