Day 1:

Arrive and get into the rhythm of Cartagena! You will be greeted with a welcome cocktail as the hotel checks you into your luxury room overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Later that evening, get ready for your walking tour of Getsemani followed by a rum and chocolate tasting class with one of the top bartenders in Colombia. We will sample Colombian appetizers and indulge in cocktail Colombian style. Afterwards, you can go hang out in Getsemani and continue the night indulging in the cocktail culture of Cartagena.

Day 2: 

Next up is our cooking class! You will learn how to make an authentic Colombian meal complete with non alcoholic cocktails and desert. Accompanied by our chef and course instructor, this culinary tour starts visiting Mercado de Bazurto‘ where you can try different fruit types typical for the season. We will walk through the market’s colorful, festive and bustling aisles where you will also buy the ingredients for the class giving you a hands on lesson about Cartagena’s gastronomical and cultural traditions. Once you have bought everything, you return to Getsemaní, where a fully equipped restaurant kitchen is waiting for you to prepare the traditional menu which is always served with Cartagena’s famous coconut rice.
Later on, get ready to feel the beat and move with the rhythms of the Caribbean coast. Guided by our instructors, we invite you learn the basic Latin moves and feel the sensuality and flavor of Cartagena. This is a great way to be ready for the tons of dancing we will be doing on NYE! The rest of the day is free for you to explore.

Day 3: 

We are off to the Islands for a day at the beach! After breakfast, it's time to step outside the walls of Cartagena and experience the beauty of one of the many islands located in Islas del Rosario.  

The Rosario Islands is an archipelago formed by coral reefs with small white sand beaches, and clear Caribbean waters that invite you to appreciate the diverse marine life. These small islands have been protected by the authorities since 1977, when they were declared a National Park. The park’s coral reefs, mangrove habitats and lagoons support more than 1,300 different species in nearly 500 square miles. Literally...a nature lover's dream!

We will spend our day at one of the top beach clubs in Cartagena tanning, sipping and enjoying the vibe! Enjoy a lunch filled with freshly grilled delicacies and discover other fun things to do. (This trip will require a boat ride which may include choppy water) After returning to the hotel, the rest of the evening is yours to explore Cartagena.

Day 4:

Today, we’ll be taking a journey to San Basilio de Palenque. Palenque is a town with deep African roots that was established by runaway slaves. Declared a "Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity" by the UNESCO in 2005, this area bears testimony to a moving and inspiring history through living memorials and Afro-Colombian music and dance styles. Plan on dancing, singing and immersing yourself in the Palenque culture while learning about their customs and beliefs: And your connection to them!

Back at the hotel, you will relax and get ready for the magic you will witness tonight...NYE in Cartagena! Wear your cute yet comfortable shoes because we will be dancing the night away in Cartagena bringing in the New Year.

Day 5:

Today is your free day to do what ever you like. Run and grab those last minute souvenirs, lounge by the pool or get a spa treatment. Later on we will meet for our last meal together and enjoy our last few hours in Cartagena.

It's time to go home and yes I know… you want to stay. Well there's always next year! After breakfast we will head to the airport and make our way back home. Although we are leaving Cartagena, the memories and connections made during this trip will never leave you. You are now an official member of the Terroir Squad!
