♦ Hotel Deposits: Standard hotel practice before checking into the hotel you will be asked for a credit/debit card for room incidentals. This hold will be removed upon checkout if no room incidentals are changed. If you are in a double room, you and your roommate should discuss who will put down their credit card before the trip. Note that the first one to arrive at the hotel cannot check in without putting a credit card on file. Melanated Passports will not put down deposits for any room.

Upon arriving at Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS), you will be transferred to our luxurious 5-star oceanfront hotel. Check-in is available at 3:00 PM.
In the evening, we’ll enjoy a welcome dinner at one of Dakar’s top-rated restaurants, featuring live music and dancing. Dinner includes one entrée and one drink.
After the welcome dinner, you will be transported back to our hotel, renowned as one of the finest in Dakar.
After breakfast, we will be picked up and accompanied by our local tour guide to begin our city tour, starting with a visit to the African Renaissance Monument.

After breakfast, we will depart for Gorée Island.
Gorée Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is home to 'La Maison des Esclaves,' where we will hear the painful and violent truths of Senegal's slave trade history. Explore the cells, shackles, and slave traders' apartments.

This day we will head to Lac Rose (meaning Pink Lake) lies north of the Cap Vert peninsula in Senegal, about 18 miles northeast of Dakar. It is named for its pink waters, caused by Dunaliella salina algae, and is known for its high salt content, reaching up to 40% in some areas.
The lake is separated from the Atlantic Ocean by only a narrow corridor of dunes. The algae produce a red pigment to absorb light, which provides energy to create ATP. The lake’s vibrant color is most evident during the dry season (from November to June).
We will also ride quads along the beautiful beach and have lunch.
Day 6: Nov 13th-Thursday
After breakfast and checkout, your transportation will take you to the airport for your international flight home.
Cancellation policy:
Deposits will be refunded upon request within 72 hours of booking. After this period, payments become non-refundable and non-transferable. Refunds will only be issued if the trip is canceled due to COVID-19 or civil unrest. Therefore, we highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for full refunds.
This trip is NOT for you if:
♦ You love to complain and lack patience. Traffic and weather can be unpredictable, and we may need to adjust accordingly.
♦ You dislike minor changes or stepping outside your comfort zone, especially in countries where U.S. standards aren't always available.
♦ You are often late and dislike some early mornings. If you're late every morning, you may be left behind.
♦ You don’t enjoy being around others and feel entitled to disrespect people because "that's just how you are."
♦ You feel you don’t need to respect other cultures or religions.
