I've been dreaming about hosting a group trip for a VERY long time.
So naturally, when it finally happened, I decided to combine it with my 40th birthday, my favorite season, my favorite holiday, and a river cruise through some of the most storybook landscapes in Europe.
Obvi!
This October we're sailing through Switzerland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands,
following the Rhine and Moselle through vineyards, medieval villages, historic cities, castles, and landscapes that look as though they've wandered straight out of a novel.
And while Halloween adds a little spooky atmosphere to the journey, this isn't a Halloween cruise.
It's autumn in Europe.
Golden foliage.
Old-world villages.
Wine country.
Castles.
Folklore.
Cozy cafes.
A little mystery.
A little magic.
And one very special chapter shared with a small group of curious travelers.

Day 1 - Basel
Board AmaCerto and settle into your home on the river.
Day 2 - Breisach
Choose your own adventure: explore the enchanting Alsatian village of Riquewihr, visit Freiburg, cycle through the countryside, or hike through Kaiserstuhl.
Day 3 - Strasbourg
Explore La Petite France, Strasbourg's storybook district, or experience the city by bike.
Day 4- Ludwigshafen & Rüdesheim
Choose between Heidelberg, Schwetzingen Palace & Gardens, or an active hike before sailing toward Rüdesheim.
Day 5 - Rüdesheim & the Rhine Gorge
Wine tasting, vineyards, biking, hiking, or a gondola ride! And then one of the most magical stretches of the journey: sailing through the legendary Rhine Gorge, surrounded by castles and centuries of stories.
and it's Halloween 🎃
Day 6 - Bernkastel
Wander through the colorful medieval Old Town, taste Moselle wines, cycle along the river, or hike the ruins of Landshut Castle.
Day 7 - Trier
Discover Roman history and UNESCO World Heritage sites in Trier, or take a hike above the city.
Day 8 - Cochem
Explore this charming Moselle town and its magnificent Reichsburg Castle, with options to walk, hike, or bike.
Day 9 - Cologne
Discover Cologne's historic Old Town, enjoy a local Kölsch, or explore by bike.
Day 10 - Amsterdam
Cruise the canals, wander through the medieval Begijnhof, or experience Amsterdam through its food and neighborhoods.
Day 11 - Amsterdam
Breakfast, farewell, and the bittersweet realization that Chapter One has come to an end....

This trip is personal.
I'm turning 40.
Celebrating my favorite season.
Finally hosting the kind of group trip I've dreamed about joining for years!
And I'm opening the first chapter of Chapters Abroad Society with some of my favorite people, and hopefully some wonderful new ones!
The Society is built around a simple idea:
The best stories aren't just meant to be read. They're meant to be experienced.
So yes, we'll travel together. But we'll also leave room...for individual adventures, unexpected discoveries, good conversations, local food, long walks, books. wine, and wahtever stories find us along the way.
Books can transport us somewhere we've never been. Travel lets us step into those worlds and meet the people who actually call them home.

Cancellation Policy
In the unfortunate event that you must cancel, notice must be made to Alexandra Broaddus during standard business hours or via email to alexandra@gildedgetawaysllc.com, which must include writing stating clearly and correctly each guest's name, ship name, start and end date of the cruise & a brief statement of the reason for cancellation.
Your initial $400 deposit includes a $200 nonrefundable portion per person once your reservation is confirmed.
Two weeks after your deposit, the full deposit is nonrefundable.
Beginning July 29, 2027, the booking is 100% non-refundable.
Travel insurance is strongly recommended to protect your investment against covered circumstances.
