Important Information:

What is included in my voyage?

Staying hydrated is a must for well-being at sea (and we prefer our Sailors feel their best), so enjoy any essential drinks on us, including water (still and sparkling, of course), non-pressed juice, soda, sachet tea, and drip coffee if you need a boost. Since WiFi is as essential as water to us, count that in, too. Entertainment experiences are also included. Plus, we'll cover restaurant dining and group fitness classes, too!

What items are prohibited from being brought on board?

On Virgin Voyages creating a safe and secure environment for our Sailors is our top priority. This is a super-long-but-super-important list of items that are a no-go on every Virgin Voyages vessel.  If a sailor is found in possession of such items onboard or during embarkation, The vessel may deny these items from coming onboard, dispose of items or confiscate items until the end of the voyage.

Thank you for helping to ensure the safety of everyone on board.

See the list of all prohibited items.

Can I bring water or other non-alcoholic drinks?

Sailors are permitted to bring a small quantity (12 sealed, unopened cans or cartons of 12 ounces or less) of non-alcoholic beverages, such as water, dietary supplements, non-alcoholic beer, or soft drinks, provided they are in boxes or cans. Please note that glass or plastic bottles are not allowed, as we aim to maintain a safe and sustainable environment at sea.

What is the smoking policy?

Smoking will only be permitted in The Smoking Room located on Deck 6 Forward, and in the designated smoking area on Deck 16 Forward on the Starboard side near the entrance of Richard’s Rooftop. Smoking is not allowed in any other areas including the cabin terraces.

Smoking of any kind outside of designated areas (even with a "vape" device) will result in a $500 fee, is a material breach of your ticket contract, and may result in you being disembarked at the next port with no refund. Any repatriating fees will be charged to your onboard account.

Can I bring alcohol on board?

As an Adult-by-Design experience, we have an array of carefully selected beer, wine and expert cocktail options ship-wide. If you must bring that rare bottle of red you got in the south of France, we get it. Sailors are also welcome to bring two (2) 750mL bottles of wine per cabin in carry-on bags on the day of embarkation (sorry, no liquor or beer please). Please note, any alcohol in your checked luggage will be collected pre-sailing and returned once your voyage is complete. You are also welcome to bring specialty liquors from a port of call on board. Simply hand them to our security team as you board, and we will hold them until your final night.

How much does travel insurance cost?

It depends on which plan you choose — Voyage Protection and InVoyage Care are priced differently, and you can't purchase both.

Voyage Protection

Priced as a percentage of your total voyage fare, so it scales with your fare. You can add it anytime before your final payment is due.

InVoyage Care

A flat rate based on how long your voyage is:
  • Voyages up to 6 days: $49 USD
  • Voyages 7–11 days: $59 USD
  • Voyages 12+ days: $69 USD

You can add it starting 14 days before embarkation — or 8 days after booking, if you booked within 14 days of sailing.

Good to know: These plans can't be combined. If you've already purchased Voyage Protection, InVoyage Care won't be available to add.

Is there a limit on how much luggage Sailors can bring on board?

There's no luggage allowance on our end — but cabin storage is limited, so it's worth packing with intention. Cabins are designed to comfortably store luggage for the Sailors staying in them, and our Crew won't be able to offer extra storage beyond that — so if it won't fit in your cabin, it's best left at home.

Haven't sailed with us before and not sure what "fits" looks like? A good rule of thumb: think standard airline allowance — 1-2 large suitcases, 1 carry-on, and a personal item per Sailor. That's roughly what our cabins are built to hold comfortably, so it's a solid guide while you pack.

Every piece of luggage should be clearly labeled with the Sailor's name, ship name, cabin number, and sailing date, so it finds its way to the right place.

Sailors will receive an email with their printable luggage tags 7 days before embarkation — but only after completing their Ready To Sail (RTS) steps.

One thing to keep in mind: Airlines set their own baggage allowances, and those still apply to you. Since limits — and any excess baggage fees — vary from airline to airline, we recommend confirming your allowance directly with them before you fly.

At what time does general boarding begin?

At Virgin Voyages, we completely support our Sailors' desire for a late checkout. With that, boarding generally begins at 2:15 pm, but Sailors must follow their selected Terminal Arrival Time to complete terminal check-in.

What is the address of the cruise terminals?

Please see below for the port and terminal address. Terminal locations are subject to change, so we recommend checking your voyage details prior to sailing for the most up-to-date information.

Miami
PortMiami
Terminal V
718 N Cruise Blvd
Miami, FL 33132
