Lemala Nanyukie - May 12 - 14
Breakfast of your choice will served and take a little time to return to your rooms and check out in time for a drive to Arusha Airport in time for your scheduled bush flight to Seronera airstrip located in the central Serengeti. The goal for the next two days is to explore the East and Central Serengeti, searching for the big cats and small delights of the bush. Central Serengeti, also known as the Seronera area, is a transitional zone, where the Serengeti plains end and the woodlands begin, giving rise to a multitude of species that co-exist in both habitats. Because the rivers that run through the Seronera Valley are perennial, most of the animals here are full-time residents, making it one of the best areas for game viewing year-round. The main attraction in the Central Serengeti is undoubtedly the beautiful Seronera River Valley. Several perennial rivers run through this valley, enabling an abundance of resident animals to thrive.

Gibbs Farm - May 14 - 16
Check out with a relaxed game drive back to Seronera Airstrip in time for your onward flight to Lake Manyara Airstrip. Disembark and proceed with a drive to your host property and spend the afternoon on a guided farm tour. The next morning, after a delicious breakfast, you will head out to the Ngorongoro Park Gate, entering the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and enjoy a half-day game drive in the famous Crater. We advise you to dress warmly against the morning chill, as the rim shows an altitude of 2000m above sea level. From the rim, you can look down some 500 meters to the crater floor. Spread out below you are all the features that make the crater a microcosm of the Serengeti: open grassland, streams, swamps, lakes, forests, hills, and steep slopes. These are the habitats that allow so many animals to live together in such a small area. Take some time to study the Crater floor with a pair of binoculars. You can usually see buffalo, hippo, and elephant near the swamps and sometimes rhino on the plains. The edge or top of the Crater’s rim is unbroken, though indented by watercourses. Ngorongoro Crater is really a caldera, the sunken or collapsed cone of a volcano. It is the largest inactive and unbroken caldera in the world. Before Ngorongoro collapsed about 2.5 million years ago, it may have rivaled Mount Kilimanjaro in size. Your driver guide will pack a picnic lunch to be enjoyed in the crater at Ngoitokitok Springs, where you can stretch your safari legs, listen to the grunts of the local hippos, and admire the profusion of bird life.
