 Itinerary:
Day 1: Warm welcome and hotel transfer.
After a long journey, your Ghana adventure begins the moment you step off the plane at
Kotoka International Airport (ACC). After clearing customs and collecting your luggage, your
designated driver and host will be waiting for you in the arrival’s hall, ready to usher you into
the warmth of Ghanaian hospitality. The transfer to your accommodation has been arranged
to be smooth and comfortable, giving you your first glimpse of Accra's dynamic energy, from
the colourful street markets and billboard-lined highways to the sounds of afrobeats drifting
from roadside shops. Your home for the evening is the iconic Labadi Beach Hotel, one of
Accra's most celebrated five-star properties, set along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Once
you have had time to check in, freshen up, and settle into your room, the evening begins in
earnest with a welcome dinner. This meal is your formal introduction to the spirit of this
journey, a convivial gathering with your hosts and fellow travellers to share excitement, ask
questions, and set intentions for the days ahead.
 
Day 2: Dubois Center, Independence Square, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and drive to
Kumasi
After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will collect you for a rich and full morning in Accra
before the long and scenic drive north to Kumasi. The day is deeply moving and intellectually
engaging, taking you through the Ghanaian capital's most significant landmarks before setting
out on the road into the heartland of the Ashanti Region. By midday, you will be back in the
vehicles and heading north on the road to Kumasi, Ghana's second city and the historical
capital of the Ashanti Empire. The drive takes approximately four to five hours, passing
through lush green forest zones, small trading towns, and the undulating hills of the Ashanti
Region. A planned lunch stop will be made at a well-regarded roadside restaurant along the
route, a wonderful opportunity to experience the flavours of Ghanaian cuisine in a local, no-
frills setting favoured by Ghanaians themselves. You arrive in Kumasi in the late afternoon.
 
Day 3: Manhyia Palace, Cultural Center, Kejetia Market, Adanwomase and Ntonso Villages

This morning is entirely devoted to the extraordinary cultural wealth of the Ashanti people,
one of the most historically powerful and artistically rich civilisations in West Africa. After
breakfast at the hotel, your guide collects you for what will be one of the most memorable
days of the entire journey.  Here, skilled artisans work in open
workshops producing kente cloth, woodcarvings, brass castings, beadwork, pottery, and
much more. The centre also houses galleries, a craft market, and spaces for traditional
performances. This is an excellent opportunity to purchase authentic, high-quality Ghanaian
crafts directly from the makers and to ask questions and hear the stories behind what you
see.

Day 4 Ashanti Traditional House, Yaa Asantewaa Shrine, and depart for Cape Coast visit

After breakfast at the hotel and checking out, the group departs Kumasi and heads south
toward the coast, with several deeply significant stops along the way. There is much ground
to cover, both geographically and emotionally, and this is a day of historical reckoning, quiet
reflection, and profound cultural learning.

Day 5 Elmina Castle, Kakum National Park, and Traditional Naming Ceremony

After breakfast at the hotel, the penultimate day of the journey begins with a short drive to
Elmina, a coastal town of extraordinary historical complexity. This is a day of contrasts, moving
between the weight of history and the exhilaration of natural adventure, and concluding with
a deeply personal and joyful ceremony. Elmina Castle, formally St. George's Castle, is the
oldest European building in sub-Saharan Africa, originally constructed by the Portuguese in
1482. For centuries, it served as a trading post, a military fortress, and ultimately one of the
most notorious slave trading centres on the African coast. The afternoon culminates in a deeply
 meaningful and celebratory ceremony, the TraditionalNaming Ceremony. 

Day 6 Departure
After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, your last meal on Ghanaian soil, there is time for any
final shopping, packing, and goodbyes before your transfer to the airport.

  1. PACKAGE PRICE – BEFORE A RESERVATION IS PAID - All prices are expressed in US dollars. Prices for vacation packages are subject to change without notice. Prices are dynamic in nature, subject to availability and subject to fluctuations in currency exchange rates.
  2. PASSPORTS, VISAS AND TRAVEL PERMIT(S) - All travel documents are the responsibility of the passenger. A valid passport with at least 6 months validity after the date of travel is required. You are responsible for checking with the appropriate consulates and respective authorities as visas and/or vaccinations may be required. Note that our agents cannot be expected to know all the documentation requirements for your trip. No refunds will be entertained for passengers who cannot embark on an aircraft due to incomplete documentation such as lack of passports or visas or affidavits for minors traveling alone or with only one parent. Keep in mind that entry requirements may vary for US-Citizens and Non US-Citizens. Airport departure and entry fees/taxes are not always included in the airline ticket. This may be required to be paid at your visiting destinations.
  3. TRAVEL INSURANCE - Travel insurance is highly recommended. Travel insurance is an optional / non-mandatory item. You are responsible for selecting to accept or decline the travel insurance at the time you purchase your package. Insurance can be purchased with the package and can be added up to within 10 days you purchase your tour package. For more information on the insurance we provide through Travel Guard or Allianz please let us know. It is important to note that My Grand Travels, or the owner Myiesha Griffin will NOT be held liable for any incidents, accidents, excursions or medical occurrences leading to illness, incapacitation or loss of life.
  4. PAYMENTS - We only accept payments made by a Visa or MasterCard debit or credit card. We do not accept prepaid cards, hotel/airline rewards, or any other type of loyalty programs. If a debit/check card payment is submitted and we process the payment, we are not responsible for any bank overdraft fees or any other charges that might be charged by your bank. The fact that we allow clients to pay in parts is irrelevant to these terms and conditions. The obligation for the client to us is the whole amount of the booking at the time of booking regardless how much of the booking has been paid to us. Cancellation policy apply to those who pay in parts as well, please see CANCELLATIONS.  Failure to submit payments by the original final payment date requires our agency to negotiate an extension with the vendor. If an extension is granted, a $175 per traveler extension fee can be added to your final payment. If the extension is denied, the reservation will result in an automatic non-refundable cancellation.
  5. TRAVEL VOUCHERS AND SHIPPING OF TRAVEL DOCUMENTS - Most of our services are ticket less. Those vouchers are your proof of payment for vendors. You must print your vouchers and carry them with you during the trip to render services with the final provider (hotels, tour operators, car rental companies, etc). Travel vouchers are emailed to the e-mail address listed in your Credit Card form Authorization. Please use one email address only. Our vouchers will show the official issuer of services.
  6. NAME CHANGES - Names on reservations must match the information included in your passport(s). You are responsible for providing us with your legal first and last names as they are shown on your passport. Once your package is processed, name changes are NOT allowed. Vacation packages are not transferable. Airlines and other providers do not allow name changes on their tickets. You cannot change the name on an airline/train/hydrofoil/cruise/mini-package ticket or give the ticket to someone else to use. In the event you provide us with the wrong name(s) for your reservation, then you understand they are canceled.
  7. CANCELLATIONS/CHANGES - A cancellation is defined as the voluntary termination of an entire trip and is requested BEFORE the original travel date. A change is defined as any modifications that are required after a deposit is made. You understand tour packages cancellation/refund policy is indicated below. Any refund requests outside of the below policy will not be honored. If you are unable to attend a scheduled tour program within the package NO refunds or partial refunds will be provided. If you check in to your hotel a day late due to unforeseen circumstances no partial refunds will be provided. If you miss a transfer due to unforeseen circumstances no partial refunds will be provided.  If you choose not to participate in the vacation for ANY reason including illness, a refund will not be provided. The cancelation policy indicated below will go into affect. All cancellation requests are required to be submitted in writing to mygrandtravels@gmail.com. Your reservation will incur a cancellation fee of $150 per person. This fee is in addition to any charges imposed by the vendor.
  8. Travel Insurance cancellation policy- If you cancel without purchasing travel protection, you will be subjected to penalties as laid out in guidelines above and below. If you purchased travel protection and need to cancel your reservation, you will be subjected to the insurance policy for refund, which is dependent on the plan you purchased. Receive a refund minus the travel protection cost, initial deposit & our agency cancellation fee; please allow 7-14 business days for processing.
    • However if canceled more than 60 days before the travel date, you can transfer funds to another date or trip, minus the initial deposit. No cash refunds will be given.
    • If canceled less than 60 days before the trip, Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. For the balance amount, the below cancellation fee will be applicable.

RESPONSIBILITY - My Grand Travels acts only as agents for the passenger in regards to travel, whether by air, rail, automobile, bus, van, plane, boat, or any other conveyance, and assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity, which may be caused due to defect in any vehicle, acts of God, war, riots, or for any company or person involved in conveying the passenger or in carrying out the arrangement of the tour. We cannot accept any responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to delay or changes in schedules or other causes such as strikes. All such losses will be the responsibility of the passenger. The right is reserved to make minor adjustments in the itinerary. The right is reserved to cancel any tour prior to departure, in which case a full refund will constitute a full settlement of all liability. My Grand Travels is not responsible for any lost or damaged luggage before, during or after the tour program. The right is reserved to decline, to accept, or retain any passenger as a member of the tour program. The issuance of vouchers or tickets shall be deemed to be consent to the above conditions. The airline concerned is not to be held liable for any act, omission, or event during the time passenger are not on board their craft. The passenger’s tickets when issued shall constitute the sole contract between the airlines and the purchaser and/or passenger. All rates published in any venue are based on exchange rates and tariffs and are subject to change. All taxes, gratuities, and portage charges are subject to deletions, additions or changes without notice. These items are not covered under the control of My Grand Travels, since changes in Government regulations and labor agreements cannot always be anticipated in advance. My Grand Travels is not responsible for any changes initiated by the passenger after departure.
