Known as the Gateway to Africa, Ghana captivates visitors with its cultural tapestry woven from ancient kingdoms, colonial heritage, and a thriving contemporary arts scene. You will be met at the airport by Land tour representatives who will assist you with your transfer from the airport to your hotel. While giving you a general history of Ghana and the Central Region which are mainly made of "Fantses", our expert tour guide will guide you through Cape Coast Castle, and Assin Manso Slave River Park, and other local tours in the Central Region.

Do U.S. citizens need a visa and a passport to travel? Any other ID or documents needed to travel from the USA besides a passport?
Yes, A valid passport that’s valid for at least six months after your entry date. It must have at least one blank visa page.
What type of Visa is required to travel?

The prices are already discounted, and further discounts are not available.
Can additional nights be purchased?
No.
Do I need to be vaccinated?
Yes. Yellow fever vaccination: A valid yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for all travelers over nine months old and must show it when you leave Ghana as well.
What if I cancel my trip?
If your trip is canceled or rescheduled for a covered reason before your trip is paid off see cancellation policy. If your trip has been paid off than you will proceed to file a claim with the insurance, the insurance will reimburse you for your non- refundable trip payments, deposits, cancellation fees, and change fees (less available refunds), up to the maximum benefit for Trip Cancellation Coverage. Please note that this coverage only applies before you have left for your trip.
Also, if you prepaid for shared accommodations and your travel companion cancels their trip due to one or more of the covered reasons listed in your policy, the insurance will reimburse any additional accommodation fees you are required to pay, such as a single supplement fee from a cruise line.
If your travel companion did not complete the payments and cancelled the trip, the primary traveler will be held responsible for the full payment due or will need to pay the single supplement rate whichever is lower.

The official language of Ghana is English. It is a multilingual country with many languages spoken.

You can schedule any flight you would like for this trip on your own. We will suggest flights to keep the group together. We also have the option to add airfare to your Retreat and we will reserve it for you. *Remeber: any airfare listed is a Quate and will vary based on the time airfare is booked.
What's the currency used in Ghana, and are credit cards widely accepted?
The Ghanaian Cedi (GHS). Credit cards are not widely used in Ghana. Credit cards are used in upscaled locations in Accra, Kumasi. Cash is preferred. Make sure you notify your credit card or debit card issuer that you’ll be using your card. You can only be able to spend in GHS while in Ghana.
What health precautions should I take before traveling to Ghana?
It's advisable to check with your doctor about any vaccinations or medications you might need. Also, remember to carry insect repellent as is a tropical destination.
Is it safe to drink tap water in Ghana?
It's recommended for tourists to drink bottled water, especially in rural areas. Enroll in Smart Traveler Enrollment Program.

What kind of clothing should I pack for a trip to Ghana?
Pack breathable, lightweight fabrics that allow air circulation and prevent sweating. Line is a good choice. Ghanaian clothing is conservative, so bring clothing that covers your chest and shoulders and reaches or goes past knees.
Are there any cultural norms or etiquettes I should be aware of while visiting Ghana?
Greetings are important in Ghana, and you should greet people when you enter an area or pass a group of people. Greet people with your right hand. Be respectful to everyone, especially elders. Give up your seat for elders. You should also avoid crossing your legs and putting your hands in your pocket in front of elders. Ghana is mostly a smoke-free country, and you should try to smoke in public. You should not photograph people without asking for permission and do not photograph government buildings or military installations.
