Mardi Gras is Carnival's most innovative ship yet, offering clients staterooms that are comfortable, functional, and make them feel right at home.

MEET THE ZONES

Mardi Gras will be our first ship to introduce themed zones! Each area is uniquely inspired to create a different atmosphere than the next and will allow you to create your own personalized vacation with dining, libation, entertainment, recreation, and relaxation options. The six themed zones are:

GRAND CENTRAL

On a Carnival cruise, your vacation starts in the atrium, and on Mardi Gras that’s in the Grand Central zone. On this ship, the atrium’s different. There are high ceilings that hint at fun living on the three decks above and floor-to-ceiling windows bringing in ocean views. Plus, you’re not far from great dining at Bonsai Sushi and Bonsai Teppanyaki, and good entertainment at Piano Bar 88 and The Punchliner Comedy Club.

THE FRENCH QUARTER

What inspired The French Quarter is no less than New Orleans itself! You’ll be pleased to hear that The French Quarter is lined with bars, eateries, and spots serving up everything from small plates to classic Hurricane cocktails straight from the bayou. Also, Mardi Gras will set sail with Emeril Lagasse’s first-ever restaurant at sea: Emeril’s Bistro 1396!

SUMMER LANDING

Summer Landing is the greatest chill spot at sea! Know what goes great with chilling outdoors? BBQ, so we’re building a Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse into this zone to make sure it always tastes like summer here. You won’t be surprised that the pool isn’t far with our original Parched Pig™ beers brewing just a few feet away!

LA PIAZZA

La Piazza stands for flavor and it starts with Cucina del Capitano, which brings your party together for a night of Italian favorites, while Pizzeria del Capitano makes delizioso happen for you 24 hours a day atop a base of imported Italian flour and fresh mozzarella. Mardi Gras also debuts a new Mediterranean spot where you’ll sip authentic espresso drinks by day and classic Italian cocktails by night.

LIDO

Aboard Mardi Gras, Lido, our poolside zone, features delicious and fun ways to spend a day. You can take in a Dive-In Movie at the pool and you’re not far from signature Carnival favorites like Guy’s Burger Joint, Seafood Shack, and BlueIguana Cantina. Lido is also home to fan-favorite Swirls, the free soft-serve spot cranking out the cool 24/7.

THE ULTIMATE PLAYGROUND

Don’t let the name fool you, this zone is for ages everybody and up. The Ultimate Playground starts with BOLT™, the first rollercoaster at sea, an all-electric thrill ride that puts the power of speed in your hands. It also has the largest Carnival WaterWorks ever, plus SportSquare featuring an entire mini-golf course, full-court basketball and a ropes course. Ultimate enough for you?

LOTS OF FUN AROUND

EMERIL’S BISTRO 1396

We couldn’t build a French Quarter on Mardi Gras without an Emeril restaurant!! In 2021, Mardi Gras will sail with Emeril Lagasse’s first-ever restaurant at sea: Emeril’s Bistro 1396™. You’ll now be able to enjoy the authentic bayou flavors New Orleans is known for on your vacation! From fried oysters and duck & sausage gumbo, to po-boy sandwiches, fresh ceviche and more!

STREET EATS

Debuting on Mardi Gras with three ever-changing open-air stations, Street Eats is Carnival’s tribute to the food-truck phenomenon! There’s one station specializing in steamed stuff like bao buns and shumai, one that puts the “skill” in skillet with the likes of kebab and satay, and one that fries up favorites like empanadas and falafel. You may be far from the street, but flavor’s right around the corner.

FAMILY FEUD LIVE

Family Feud™ has delighted viewers at home for generations, but you’ll now be able to buzz-in on a cruise ship! Family Feud™ Live exclusively hits Mardi Gras in 2021. Hosted by the ship’s cruise director, the show will take place in Mardi Gras’ Grand Central zone. Every sailing will host four unique games where you can choose to participate or join the studio audience for a chance to compete in the “Insta-family” version of the game!

BOLT: ULTIMATE SEA COASTER

On Mardi Gras you’ll also meet BOLT™: the fastest and first rollercoaster at sea! Strap in and zoom your motorcycle-style speed machine around an open-air course high above sea level. You’ll get to control how fast you go, so hit the gas and try for the fastest time or choose chill mode and go light on the pedal. This just might be the coaster for you!

COVID Protocols (PLEASE READ):

HAVE FUN. BE SAFE. COVID-19 GUEST PROTOCOLS

Our dedication to the health and safety of our guests, crew, and the communities we visit is reflected in our Have Fun. Be Safe. protocols and procedures, which were developed in consultation with our medical experts and have proven very effective during our restart and adaptable to the evolving public health situation.

As the COVID-19 situation evolves, we will adjust our protocols based on the advice of our medical and public health advisors. For the most up-to-date guidelines, click here ---> enhanced protocols.

Gratuities:
It is customary for our guests to extend gratuities to the shipboard staff in appreciation for their hard work and exceptional service. 100% of your gratuities are distributed to the crew who you interact with, such as your stateroom attendants, dining and culinary services staff, as well as others who work behind the scenes to enhance your overall cruise experience. Applying this charge automatically streamlines the recognition process and ensures our crew will share in your generosity. To help you plan, we have provided the recommended guidelines below:

  • Standard Staterooms: $14.50 USD per person, per day
  • Suite Staterooms: $16.50 USD per person, per day

Click here to view gratuity rates by cruise duration.

You may pay this daily gratuity in two different ways:

Pre-Pay
Gratuities can be added at the time of booking or anytime up to the sail date. Guests who booked directly with Carnival may add their pre-paid gratuities on Carnival.com. If a guest booked with a travel agent, they may contact their travel professional to add pre-paid gratuities to their booking. Prepaid gratuities are reflected in the 'Miscellaneous Charge' field on the confirmation and in the guest’s E-Documents.

Sail & Sign®
If a guest has not pre-paid the gratuities, the recommended per person amount will be posted to their Sail & Sign account on the second to last day of the cruise.  Should a guest not be satisfied with the service they receive, they can contact the Guest Services desk while on board. This will allow us to address their concerns in a timely and appropriate fashion. At the discretion of the guest, gratuities may be adjusted after they have been posted on the guest’s account, while on board.  Gratuities, as posted on a guest’s Sail and Sign account, will be considered final after a guest disembarks and no changes will be made after the cruise.

Additional information:
  • Gratuities are assessed on all guests, with the exception of children under the age of 2.

Minors:

Guests are required to be 21 years of age (on embarkation day) to travel on their own. Guest ages will be verified at embarkation. Guests not conforming to this policy will result in denied boarding and no compensation will be provided at embarkation. For additional minor age restriction guidelines while on board, click here.

Guests Under the Age of 21 MUST travel with a relative or guardian of 25 years of age or older

  • The guardian does not need to be a legal guardian.
  • The bookings must be cross-referenced with the relative or guardian’s stateroom and documented properly.
  • Guests who are 21 to 24 years of age may travel with their minor children.
  • Havana Staterooms and Suites: Minors must be 12 years of age or older in order to cruise in Havana accommodations.
  • Minors Traveling Together: The policy is slightly different because of stricter guidelines as follows:
    • Must have 1 chaperone for every 8 minors
    • Prepaid gratuities per minor are due at final payment
    • 8 or more staterooms must be booked through the Group Department and a $100 damage deposit per minor will be charged.

Traveling with Minors
When traveling with a minor where one parent or both parents or legal guardians are not cruising, we strongly recommend bringing an original signed letter from the absent parent(s) or legal guardians authorizing the minor to travel with you. If there is no second parent with legal claims to the minor (due to sole custody, deceased, etc.) other relevant paperwork, such as a court decision, death certificate, birth certificate naming only one parent, would be useful to bring in place of a signed letter. This will expedite processing by the Department of Homeland Security.

Where minor guests can be booked in relation to relative or guardian:

  • Guests 12 and younger
If the relative or guardian insists on booking separate staterooms, minors must either be directly across the hall or next door. Guests 12 and under may not be assigned to a balcony stateroom without a relative or guardian (25 years of age or older) traveling in the balcony stateroom with them.
  • Guests 13 - 17 years of age
Can be separated by up to 3 staterooms from a relative or guardian (25 years of age or older).
  • Guests 18 – 20 years of age
Do not have any restrictions and may book whatever location they prefer.

Exceptions: Guests under the age of 21 may travel without a relative or guardian of 25 years of age or older under the following conditions:

Legally married couples, including same gender couples
  • Proper documentation must be provided at embarkation. Failure to provide documentation or not conforming to this policy will result in denied boarding and no compensation will be provided.
  • Documentation includes: marriage license issued by the County Clerk’s Office; legal proof of civil union; for newly married couples: a copy of the marriage license application or certificate signed by the official that performed the ceremony.

Qualified Military Personnel

  • Applies to US Military Personnel and Canadian National Defense personnel (and their traveling companions in the same stateroom) of 18 – 20 years of age.
  • Copy of proof of service must be provided at embarkation. Failure to provide documentation or not conforming to this policy will result in denied boarding and no compensation will be provided.
