The fight for American civil rights spanned decades, cities, and states – including from Atlanta, Georgia, to Selma and Birmingham, and across the Edmund Pettus bridge. Join us as we journey the trail of the Civil Rights Movement begins in Atlanta, the cradle of the Civil Rights Movement, and takes you to the scene of Bloody Sunday, the National Memorial for Peace and Justice/Lynching Memorial, and finally the Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site, which commemorates the contributions of African-American airmen during WWII and everywhere in between before we head back to Atlanta.

DAY 1:  June 17, 2022
Atlanta, Cultural Capital of the New South. Welcome to Atlanta, the cradle of the Civil Rights Movement. Upon arrival, transfer as a group to your hotel; conditions apply. Join your Travel Director this afternoon to start your sightseeing. We’ll see the Martin Luther King National Historical Park, which includes the birthplace of MLK, The King Center, and Ebenezer Baptist Church.

We’ll then visit the APEX Museum, delving deep into a better understanding of Africa's continent and the influences and contributions of African Americans to our society. Return to your hotel for an included Welcome Dinner with wine.

DAY 2: June 18, 2022  - Atlanta - Birmingham
Today we’ll visit the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, dedicated to the achievements of the Civil Rights movement in America and the broader Human Rights movements around the world. Journey to Anniston, Alabama, to see the Freedom Riders National Monument dedicated to the Freedom Riders of the Civil Rights Movement. See the former Greyhound Bus Station, where in 1961, a mob attacked the integrated group of white and black Freedom Riders promoting the Federal ruling that Interstate bus travel could not be segregated. Continue to Birmingham stopping en-route at the tragic bus burning site. On arrival, check into your hotel and head to dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 3: June 19, 2022 - Birmingham’s Civil Rights Movement
Join an orientation tour with a Local Expert as we see the 16th Street Church, where four girls lost their lives during a retaliation bombing during the upheavals of the Civil Rights Movement. Visit the Birmingham Civil Rights Museum which depicts the struggles of the Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s and 1960s. Afterward, we’ll visit the Kelly Ingram Park containing powerful sculptures depicting the civil rights struggle and Bethel Baptist Church

DAY 4: June 20, 2022  - Marion, Selma and Montgomery
After breakfast we’ll take a short drive to Marion to visit the Interpretive Center and the Memorial to Viola Liuzzo, the white civil rights activist who died at the hands of the Ku Klux klan. Visit the Brown Chapel AME Church and Selma Interpretive Center then travel the Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail and weather permitting, walk across the Edmund Pettus Bridge. Continue to Montgomery home for the next 2 nights.

DAY 5: June 21, 2022 - Montgomery Sightseeing
Visit the Rosa Parks Library and Museum was built to uphold and interpret for the public benefit, education and enjoyment, materials related to the events and accomplishments of individuals associated with the Montgomery Bus Boycott. We'll visit the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church, which was founded in 1877 in a slave trader’s pen, located on Dexter Avenue (formerly Market Street) in Montgomery, Alabama. Then a Local Expert will join us for a panoramic tour to see other notable sites, including the Alabama State Capitol, First Baptist Church on Ripley Street, Holt Street Baptist Church, and City of St. Jude. Continue to the National Memorial for Peace and Justice/Lynching Memorial, then return to your hotel for dinner.

DAY 6: 22 June 2022 - Tuskegee Sightseeing then to Atlanta
This morning discovers the remarkable history of Tuskegee with a visit to the Tuskegee Human & Civil Rights Multicultural Center which highlights the cultures of Native American, European American and African American. Continue to the Butler African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church was the focal point for many grass-roots projects. Step on to the HBCU campus, Tuskegee University. Continue to the Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site commemorates African American airmen's contributions during WWII before heading back to Atlanta for our last overnight stay. Join together this evening to celebrate dinner with wine as we toast to the enriching journey and memories made.

DAY 7: 23 June 2022 - Depart Atlanta

Non-refundable deposit in the amount of $400 per person / double occupancy is due at the time of booking or by Jul 7, 2021. Space is limited and will sell out early.  It is best to deposit early to reserve your space.

 

Final Payment: Due by March 11, 2022.

 

Prices are based on charges, taxes, and levies current at the time of booking and may change if there are significant changes in taxes, charges, or levies imposed by any government or its agencies.

 

"Plan-to-Go” Payment Plan:

Jordan Travel Enterprise " Plan-to-Go " payment plan makes it possible for you to afford a dream vacation with manageable monthly payments. The way our program works is simple – you spread the payments out over time. The size of the payment and the number of payments will depend on how much time exists between the first deposit on your trip and the date the final payment is due. 

 

We accept reservations and payments according to two schedules:

  • Payment in full at the time of booking - You may pay in full at booking. No future payments will be needed unless you later modify your reservations.
  • "Plan to Go" Payment Plan: Payments over time (monthly) with final payment due by the date stated on the Invoice and booking page. 

 


 
Cancellation Policy and Fees: 

 

JORDAN TRAVEL ENTERPRISE CANCELATION POLICY:

 

Although Jordan Travel Enterprise does not charge for booking your travel; monitor the sales and decrease your cost, if applicable; watch for cost savings; look up excursions that are best suited for you; print travel documents with detailed instructions, etc.; assist with booking your air and pre/post hotel(s), there are cancellation fees that you are responsible for to cover the fee for services rendered.   

 

All cancellations must be received in writing. In addition to the supplier's cancellation policy and fees that may apply, Jordan Travel Enterprise will apply a $50 per person administrative service fee to all cancellations. Most cancellation fees are covered under the travel insurance policy if you cancel for a covered reason.

 

Pre/Post Accommodation(s): Between 14 days and the day of departure, 100% of accommodation cost.

 

Refunds: No refund is available if cancellations occur after the tour has commenced or in respect of any tours, accommodation, meals, or any other services not utilized.

Itinerary Changes & Tour Cancellation: Jordan Travel Enterprise reserves the right to vary itineraries should circumstances dictate, as well as cancel or reschedule any tour departure following operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. Hotels listed are to be used as a guide only unless specified as confirmed. Confirmed hotels are subject to change beyond our control. In this situation, we will arrange an alternative property as similar as possible. The advertised tours require minimum numbers to depart. Should these not be met, Jordan Travel Enterprise reserves the right to cancel arrangements.

 

Amendments: A fee of $150 may apply to any change made to your booking once confirmed.

 

Travel Insurance: Jordan Travel Enterprise advises guest to purchase comprehensive Travel Insurance.  All guests will have to accept or deny Travel Insurance on the online form that we will send to you with the travel information.

 

Rooming Arrangements: Single and Triple rooms are limited. An additional supplement may apply. Triple rooms are on a request basis and will be subject to availability at the applicable confirmed hotels.

 

CANCELATION FEES: 

  • More than 65 days before departure: loss of deposits
  • Between 65 & 31 days before departure: 30% of total tour cost
  • Between 30 & 08 days before departure: 50% of total tour cost
