The best way to experience 80 different cultures in one day is to take the “Saint-Martin/Saint-Maarten Island Tour.”  You will depart from Philipsburg and head to Oyster Pond, a charming little locale with a picturesque marina on the French side of the island.  From there, following Coralita Road, along the coast, you will stop at a lookout point from where you can see St. Barth and Tintamare Island. You will continue past famous Orient Beach, well known for its clothing optional beach, past Grand Case, the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean, on your way to Marigot, capitol of the French side. Marigot is best known for its seaside, open-air market, where you can find truly charming souvenirs of your Caribbean vacation. If you are “shopped out”, try one of the French cafés right next door, for a café au lait with a croissant.  Upon leaving Marigot, you will make one more photo stop on Cay Hill, from where you have a wonderful view over Simpson Bay Lagoon.  Our last stop will be Philipsburg, capital of the Dutch side, best known for its jewelry-, electronics-, and high end clothing stores. On the Boardwalk you will find quaint restaurants for a quick bite to eat before your flight and an excellent photo opportunity of your yacht lying in Philipsburg Harbor. From there, you will be taken straight to your Windstar Hotel

Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes.

A great way to see Anguilla and its beautiful beaches is by water and it is especially fun, when you pilot your own 2-person watercraft. At the meeting point, close to the pier, the staff will gear you up and give you a short safety briefing prior to starting off on your adventure. You will follow your guide out on the open ocean and along the coastline of the island.  Want to go fast and speed passed the coastline, feeling the wind whipping through your hair? Prefer to take it slow and tuck up close to the shore to see the sights? The choice is yours and the sights are incredible.  On the ocean, on your own watercraft, you will have the chance to explore all of the little secret beaches, those that aren't on the map, those that you can't reach via roads. One of those is Little Bay, the tiniest beach on Anguilla, where you will stop for a snorkeling break. Other stops will be made along the ride as well, but those will be at the discretion of your fun and knowledgeable tour guide.

Board your privatized speedboat and set off to your first snorkel spot at Little Bay, the tiniest beach on Anguilla and one of the most beautiful locations to snorkel. It is also one of the most private beaches on Anguilla, since the only way to get there is by foot or by water, and since it is protected by high cliffs on three sides there is hardly any surf, making it a perfect snorkel stop. Snorkeling in these crystal-clear warm waters will be a rewarding experience with plenty of colorful fish, squid and shells. In general, Anguilla is well known for its snorkeling and has an abundance of fish; you can find the feisty little black-barred Sergeant Major and plenty of colorful wrasses, snappers and grunts. Then on to the second snorkel stop, which is Shoal Bay, where you will find a reef abundant with coral and sea fans, along with Parrot Fish, Blue Tang and even Trunk Fish, the ones that look like little triangular boxes. The third and last snorkel spot will be Sandy Island, also famous for its excellent snorkeling with plenty to be seen. After this last stop, rum punch will be served and the guests will return to the pier in Sandy Ground.

Please note: Guests must be able to swim and feel comfortable with snorkeling equipment.  In addition, the Captain will use his discretion when selecting the stops and snorkeling locations based upon the current weather and sea conditions for the best guest’s experience. Wear your swimsuit, sunscreen,  hat and cover-up and bring a towel.

This tour has been created especially for Windstar’s President and guests. You will be greeted at the pier by your professional Tour Guide for the start of this interesting tour and listen to your Guide through the Whisper Radio System for ease and clarity, so you miss nothing even for those with hearing aids as there are special adaptors!  Your first stop will be at Betty’s Hope. Built in 1674 by Sir Christopher Codrington, this was the site of one of the first full-scale sugar plantations on Antigua and is located just south of Pares Village. For more than 300 years, this prominent sugar plantation has played a leading role in, and influenced the lives of many generations of Antiguans. This is the only twin sugar mill, standing side by side in the Eastern Caribbean and has several renovated sugar trains used to transport sugar cane across the island which you can view and photograph. Your tour will continue to Devil’s Bridge. For hundreds of thousands of years, the Atlantic’s waves have crashed into the east coast of Antigua creating a natural arch, or bridge.  Numerous geysers and blowholes surround the arch as waves continually break against the coastal rocks. In addition to being a natural phenomenon, Devil’s Bridge also holds cultural importance in Antiguan history.  A prehistoric, Amerindian site is located within its vicinity and suggests that prehistoric peoples may have used the area for fishing and settlement.  Popular belief suggests slaves leapt to their death off of the natural arch during the period of slavery in Antigua. Devil’s Bridge gets its name from these myths as the stories contend the devil claimed those who leapt off the bridge. Your tour will continue where you will hug the south coast line and drive past Darkwood Beach, Turner’s Beach, Fryes Beach, Jolly Harbour, many secluded beaches, 5* hotels and exclusive homes through Fig Tree Drive, Antigua’s lush rainforest area through Antigua’s countryside, rich in daily West Indian life, local villages, and old churches, that exemplify West Indian culture.

Please note: Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.  There is one step in and out of the bus.
