Don’t Like Cruising? This new boutique ship is just for you!

Explora Journeys designed its vessels specifically with the cruise averse in mind. You won’t find any buffets onboard, gone are many of the hallmarks of a typical cruise ship, in favor of a more boutique, tailored experience. When creating the brand, Explora looked not to other cruise ships, but to yachts and luxury hotel brands like Belmond, Cheval Blanc, and Ritz-Carlton for inspiration. It was also consciously designed to feel like a European brand, from the subdued interiors to the entertainment programming and the choice of incorporating European brands like Frette linens, Illy Espresso, and even the first Rolex boutique at sea!
 
 

 
Rome's romance, Renaissance and classical relics spin us into the hustle and glamour of Naples. Currents of the Tyrrhenian Sea carry us to Sicily, the ancient medina and Carthaginian ruins of Tunis, and Isola di San Pietro, a tiny Sardinian satellite isle with white sand or pebble spiaggias and pale turquoise waters, a single thread to Spanish seduction in the Balearics and Barcelona.

Day 1
Civitavecchia (Rome) - Embarkation
Embark the ship in Civitavecchia Port outside of Rome.
There's more to Rome than its ancient architecture. The Eternal City is home to a seemingly endless array of hidden gems. The artistic-minded can enjoy fashion aristocracy, street art, vespa jaunts to The Appian Way and toss coins into fountains. or you can stroll by appointment to Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel and the Pope's private quarters at the Vatican. Explore the historic ruins of The Colosseum, Caravaggio churches, the Spanish Steps and The Pantheon. Learn how to make pasta the true Italian way, hunt truffles, nibble gelato, sip coffee and sink into a 3000 year old pool for a wellness experience, an ode to homespun pasta at ta Renaissance piazza. When in Rome, fusing old with new makes it simple to indulge in whatever you like. 
 
 
Day 2
Naples
Pitched between mighty Mount Vesuvius and the volcanic calderas of Phlegraean Fields, history is revealed around every corner of Naples, cradle of Italian culture, Baroque churches, Italian-Renaissance palazzi and neoclassical opera houses leave you breathless, so ride the funicular up to the top of Castel Sant'Elmo for dreamy views of the Bay of Naples and Sorrento Peninsula beyond, gateway to the spectacular Amalfi Coast. Beneath the cobblestone streets lies another Naples, a warren of subterranean tunnels hewn by legions of Roman and Greek settlers. Linger longer to visit the ancient ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum, buried under the wrath of Mount Vesuvius, of hop over to the idyllic Island of Capri.
 
 
Day 3
Trapani (Sicily)
Fully invest in a la dolce vita. Savor exciting historical sites and authentic Sicilian life in the City of Salt and Sail. Admire some of the best-preserved relics of Greece's Golden Age at the UNESCO-acclaimed ancient city of Agrigento. Stock up on locally produced Ortigia and sample Sicilian classics passed down through generations. Visit famed Erice for one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Sicily, chopper or sail across to other Aeolian islands and visit the mineral-rich salines.  Journey up to Monreale to ponder crumbling hilltop alleys and the Norman cathedral depicting Sicily of old and amble through orange, olive and almond groves. Life moves slowly here for Trapani ahs an old-world Mediterranean soul. 
 
 
Day 4
La Goulette (Tunis)
Whitewashed buildings have welcomed seafarers to Tunis, gateway to North Africa, since time immemorial. Elegant mosaics carved wooden doorways and intricately tiled courtyards lurk around every corner of the ancient medina (old town), a warren of labyrinthine souks, white-domed mosques and beautiful madrassas (Islamic schools) with their iconic black and white archways and cool arcades. French influence is palpable in the Ville Nouveau, where wide boulevards lined with eucalyptus lead to the monumental expanse of St. Vincent de Paul Cathedral. Don't miss the ancient Phoenician ruins and astonishing mosaics of Carthage near the pretty oceanfront town of Sidi Bou Said, muse of artists and poets.
 
 
Day 5
Carloforte (Sardinia)
Sea stacks and fishing boats hail all who arrive on San Pietro's saintly shores, a southern Sardinian Island with a distinctly Ligurian flavor. Sea breezes drift through the cobbled streets of Carloforte, where generations-old restaurants tease flavors from smart sommeliers that uncork Sardinian sunshine and sever world-renowned Bluefin tuna, which is coveted by acclaimed sushi chefs in Tokyo. Centuries-old walls and hilltop castles tell tales of pirates and plunder, while pretty piazzas and bustling markets set the state for unhurried moments. Nature sculpts otherworldly forms along a rugged coast, where seabirds swoop around gorse-covered clifftops and scenic sailings reveal hidden coves and honeycomb caverns. Tap into the island's artistic soul among pink-hued salt pans and powder-soft sands, a blank canvas for your island masterpiece.

Palma De Mallorca (Spain)
Leave craggy coastlines behind and venture to the heartland of the biggest Balearic. Where endless authentic charm, history and nature await. Celebrate at S[pain's oldest winery, shop chick Palma boutiques and marvel at blossoming UNESCO-limestone mountains aboard a vintage train. Experience a tranquil monastery, art at a historic hacienda and tons of protected wildlife. Delve into nature at reserves, feast on wood-fired paella at lively hangouts, pilgrimage to historic churches an tour old-world Mallorcan villages. And as for sapphire seas that frame spotless beaches - Mallorca is truly an immense Balearic beauty. 
 
 
Day 8
Barcelona (Spain) - Disembarkation
Disembark the ship and enjoy Barcelona or prepare for your flight home.
Breathe in the cultural heart of Catalan; an elegant blend of high energy and undisturbed tradition. Muse over the origins of captivating Gaudi architecture within the enchanting labyrinth that is the Gothic quarter. Savor the flavors of fresh tapas and crisp cava in breezy plazas, tranquil terraces and coveted cafes, or glide down to a shimmering beach club to unwind. Imagine a visit to peaceful Passeig de Gracia, where modernist buildings merge to showcase iconic global labels. And, as dusk falls, prepare for urban action and swing by the lively bohemian bars to fiesta on the leafy stretch of La Rambla. if you're serious about style, this colorful city provides plenty to celebrate.

Our Ocean Terrace Suites at 35 sqm (377 sq ft) are amongst the largest in the category. Floor-to-ceiling windows bathe the suites in light and private sun terraces help guests truly relax and bring them closer to the ocean that carries them on their journey. 

Ocean Grand Terrace Suites

 

Our Ocean Grand Terrace Suites feature a larger ocean-front terrace of 11 sqm (118 sq ft), featuring an outdoor dining area and comfortable daybed for relaxation.

The four types of Ocean Penthouses offer a luxurious, spacious retreat with ocean-front floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive terraces to unwind and relax.

Serenity Residences

 

Abundant in space and light, the elegant Serenity Residences offer a large living area, a dining area for six, an adept desk area, a luxurious marble bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower, and a Residence Host providing butler services.

 

Cocoon Residences 

 

Our Cocoon Residences are amongst the most spacious of our residences, with an expansive sun terrace on the ship’s coveted aft deck.

Cancellation Policy
  • Deposit of 5% must be made in full at time of booking
  • $300 of the deposit is non-refundable
  • Remaining balance must be received no later than April 1st and is non-refundable, Travel Protection is strongly recommended
  • As a group booking with special amenities, cancellation policy is based on the above, which may be stricter than the Explora Journeys cancellation policy in their terms and conditions: Explora Journeys Terms & Conditions
