Sat Nam! We are really excited that you are joining Krishna for the Conscious Communication training in Ghana. This is your opportunity to join in a tour of Ghana after the training to soak in Ghana's Coastal Delights and absorb some of the local culture. By you joining this tour, a portion of the proceeds go to supporting a project which is dear to Krishna's heart: Y.O.G.A. for Youth. This program provides urban youth with tools for self-discovery that fosters hope, discipline and respect for self, others and community. In other words, you will change a life...and a community.

AKWAABA! 

Axim is the site of the huge Fort San Antonio, built by the Portuguese in the 16th century. It is also home to some of the country's best beaches and most idyllic resorts. Located 70km from the border with Côte d'Ivoire, Axim is pronounced with a French accent (Akzeem or Azeem).




Trip Highlights:

Explore the Western Region of Ghana which has some of the most beautiful and clean beaches. Experience everything from the inner city to the village, the region is on the rise due to the recent oil production there. Discover the beauty of the region and its green scenery. Have your breath taken away at the sight of the village on stilts. This Coastal Delight is spelled R E L A X A T I O N...Can you feel it?

Itinerary

Day 1: Thursday, February 20, 2020 -  Welcome to the West: Forts and Beautiful Beaches

Travel to Takoradi, capital of Ghana’s Western Region. From Harbor View, you will have a picturesque view of the Takoradi Port spread out below. Visit Fort Gross Friedrichsburg at Princesstown and Fort Metal Cross at Dixcove; noted as "the fake mint of the Gold Coast". Take a seat as you learn the harrowing tale of what was buried in the grounds of this fort.

Continue to your amazing beach front resort. You can have a game of volleyball on soft sandy beach or just chill with a cool drink as you watch the sunset.

Day 2: Friday February 21, 2020  - Nzulezo: Village on the Water

Breakfast

A short canoe ride brings you to UNESCO World Heritage Site (tentative list) Nzulezo village. Raffia and wood constructions make up this unique habitat built entirely on stilts on Lake Amansuri. 

Rest of day is free to relax on the beach. 




Day 3: Saturday, February 22, 2020 - Canopy Walk and Dungeon Visit

Breakfast.

Take a jaunt to the Kakum National Park, home to Africa’s only aerial tree canopy walkway to enjoy panoramic views on top of platforms that reach heights of over 150 feet above the forest floor. Connect with Mother Nature on a brief guided walk of the “Kuntan Trail” with its countless trees with medicinal properties. Dare to cross the 1000 feet long seven rope canopy bridges, a spiritual walk for many.

Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Monument Elmina Castle. Pay homage to the departed ancestors who were force-marched into the dungeons and on to the Americas.  Drive through the over 600 years old Dutch influenced township of Elmina on your way to the capital city.


Arrive in Accra and prepare for your trip home! (You will be dropped off at your hotel or airport for your flight home).

Axim Beach Hotel Resort is a palm covered oasis, surrounded by beautiful beaches that has found the balance between the natural environment and the requirements of clientele using a traditional and close to nature design. 

Axim Beach recognizes the importance of sustainable tourism industry for Ghana and as such has adopted environmentally friendly practices such as solar hot water and the use of bore water for facilities and where possible using recycled materials. And of course, the traditionally designed buildings employ environmentally friendly construction practices. The hotel employs all local staff, purchases local products and contributes to community projects in the Axim town.




CANCELLATION POLICY

If you need to cancel, you must notify EUPHORIA TRAVEL ALLIANCE in writing! All cancellations will be processed and refunded less initial deposit and applicable penalties. Cancellation fees: Up to 60 days prior to departure = Non-refundable deposit of $100. Between 59 - 45 days prior to departure = Non-refundable deposit + a $150 fee; 44 days up to 14 January 2020 = 100% of the total cost of package.


*Please note that traveler bears the additional cost of single supplement fees where their cancellation affects the accommodation of their roommate at the hotel(s).

TRAVEL INSURANCE
We highly recommend you to secure travel insurance to protect your investment on this trip. Travel insurance covers the cancellation fees for medical reasons, as well as, medical expenses overseas, accidents, lost or damage of luggage, etc. EUPHORIA TRAVEL ALLIANCE will assist you to secure insurance through our trusted suppliers. The cost is always dependent on age and destination. Please let us know if you require such assistance.

A non-refundable $100 deposit (credit card or bank transfer is accepted) is required during registration window open until January 14, 2020 to secure your spot on this tour. Additional one-time or 2 installment payments may be made as elected or by request. Non-payment or insufficient payment by January 14, 2020 may attract additional costs. Please fill out the registration form via link for the tour and submit preferred method of payment (bank transfer or online debit/credit card processing). Single room supplement is $120, mandatory for the participant that does not have a roommate. EUPHORIA TRAVEL ALLIANCE will try their best to pair you with a roommate, but if we are unable to find one for you 45 days before departure, you will need to pay the single supplement.
