Welcome to the Harmony Ridge Lodge Quilting Retreat

Surrounded by the quiet beauty of the Tahoe National Forest, this retreat is your time to breathe deeply, stitch joyfully, and reconnect with the creative spark that brought you here.

Over the course of the retreat, you’ll enjoy cozy sewing sessions, delicious meals, peaceful forest views, and the company of quilters who understand the magic of fabric, thread, and friendship. Whether you’re finishing a long‑awaited project or starting something brand new, this is your space to create, relax, and be inspired.

Space is limited, and this retreat fills quickly—secure your place and start looking forward to a truly unforgettable quilting experience.

 
 

What's included in this trip:

  • 4 nights lodging at beautiful Harmony Ridge Lodge
  • Unlimited tranquility in a forest environment
  • 4 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 4 dinners
  • Dedicated sewing area where you can securely set up your sewing machine and projects and access them 24 hours a day - with a peaceful forest view!
  • Snacks & beverages 
  • Games, prizes, fun, and great companionship!
  • Quilt Shop Hop to Grass Valley's fabulous quilt shops, because everyone needs more fabric!
 
 

What's not included:

  1. Alcoholic Beverages - bring your own wine and beer.  (Please refrain from overindulgence! )
  2. Your quilting project!  It's BYOQ.  This is your chance to finish up those UFOs or start a new project, and sew to your heart's content!
  3. Sewing Machines - bring your own!  Electrical outlets and individual tables are provided, along with a cutting/ironing station. 
  4. Fabric & Notions - we will be stopping at a fabric store  (or two!)  if you need to pick up anything!
  5. Transportation  - we encourage carpooling!
  6. Gratuities
 

Where you will sleep:

Once everyone has arrived, we will hold a bed lottery to see who gets which bed.  You might end up in a twin bed, a queen bed, or the king-size master suite!  All rooms are shared with one or two fellow quilters, with an ensuite bathroom private to that room.  The only single room is the King Master suite.  No matter which bed you end up in, you will have a fantastic time!  Please let me know if you have mobility needs, as some rooms are upstairs. Accessible rooms will be pre-assigned based on mobility needs.

1. Share Generously

Offer tips, tools, fabric scraps, and encouragement. Quilting is always richer when shared.

2. Celebrate Every Stitch

Whether someone is a beginner or a seasoned artist, honor the effort, creativity, and courage behind every project.

3. Ask Before Assisting

Advice is wonderful—but only when invited. Respect each quilter’s creative process.

4. Keep the Sewing Space Cozy

Be mindful of shared tables, cutting stations, and ironing boards. A tidy space keeps the creativity flowing.

5. Lift Each Other Up

Compliment freely, support kindly, and cheer loudly for finished blocks, completed tops, and brave seam‑ripping moments.

6. Honor Quiet Moments

Some quilters stitch in conversation, others in peaceful silence. Both are welcome.

7. Celebrate Differences

Every quilter brings a unique style, pace, and perspective. That’s what makes the quilting community beautiful.

8. Laugh Often

Mistakes happen. Seams get wonky. Blocks get rotated. Laughter is the best thread to sew us together.

9. Respect the Retreat Rhythm

Arrive on time for meals, activities, and group outings. It keeps the retreat running smoothly.

10. Leave with a Full Heart

Take home new friendships, new inspiration, and the joy of having created something meaningful.

 

Retreat Schedule:

Thursday ~ April 8 — Arrival & Set‑Up

  • Check‑In at Harmony Ridge Lodge

  • Dinner

  • Set up your sewing space & meet fellow quilters

  • Start the Quilter's Scavenger Hunt
 

Friday ~ April 9 — Stitching Day

  • Breakfast

  • Open sewing time

  • Lunch

  • Afternoon stitching & relaxation

  • Dinner

 

Saturday ~ April 10 — Quilt Shop Hop

  • Breakfast

  • Quilt Shop Hop to Grass Valley

  • Lunch at Tofanelli’s

  • Dinner

  • Fat Quarter Frenzy

 

Sunday ~ April 11 — Create & Connect

  • Breakfast

  • Open sewing / optional mini‑lessons

  • Lunch

  • Afternoon stitching or hand‑work outside (weather permitting)

  • Dinner

  • Evening show‑and‑tell or quiet stitching
 

Monday ~ April 12 — Farewell Stitches

    • Breakfast

    • Final sewing time & goodbyes

 
 

Cancellation policy:

We do understand that plans change and emergencies can interfere with travel.  However, last-minute changes can be costly.  If you need to change or cancel your plans, the following fees will apply:
  • $250 deposit is non-refundable.  
  • Cancellations made before November 30, 2026, will be refunded in full, less the non-refundable deposit fee.
  • Cancellations made from December 1, 2026 to February 1, 2027, will be charged the non-refundable deposit plus 50% of the total remaining trip cost.
  • Cancellations made after February 1, 2027, will be non-refundable. 
  • If you can find someone to take your place, the retreat costs are fully transferable and will incur no additional change fee.  Simply give me a call to update the traveler.
  • Trip insurance is highly recommended, and you will have the option to purchase it at the time of booking.

If you require ADA compliance, please select the ADA Downstairs option.  If you are not able to do stairs but do not require full ADA accessibility, please select the Downstairs option.
