This rejuvenating tour of Portugal leads you past rolling olive farms, scenic cork groves, and down winding Moorish alleyways to the country’s signature delights.
In its coastal villages and medieval towns, grilled seafood fills the tables, sweet port fills the glasses, and the soulful sounds of fado music fill the air. From the granules of golden sand to the rich nuggets of history, this enlightening tour of Portugal introduces you to the brightest sights of the country as you make a loop from lively Lisbon and back.
Itinerary:
- Day 1 LISBON: Arrive and get your bearings. Welcome Dinner
- Day 2 LISBON Guided tour of Lisbon (Breakfast)

Day 3 LISBON–OBIDOS–NAZARÉ–ALCOBAÇA–FÁTIMA–TOMAR: Orientation walk in Obidos, explore Nazare, visit the monastery of Alcobaça; a unique masterpiece of Gothic Cistercian art, and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary en route to Tomar. (Breakfast and Dinner)
- Day 4 TOMAR - COIMBRA-PORTO: Tour the University of Coimbra, the oldest university in Portugal, then take a scenic drive to Porto (Breakfast)
- Day 5 PORTO: Panoramas and Port Wine. Guided sightseeing in Porto, including a panoramic drive to the mouth of the Douro River. Visit the Church of São Francisco and the Arabian Hall in the Stock Exchange, and port wine tasting at the famous Sandeman & Co. Port Wine Cellar (Breakfast)
- Day 6 PORTO - GUIMARAES - PENAFIEL - VISEU: Tapas & Tastings. Enjoy an orientation walk through the medieval district of Guimaraes. In Penafiel Visit the gardens of the Quinta da Aveleda winery and enjoy Portuguese tapas tasting. Take a scenic drive through the port wine vineyards en route to Viseu. Savor a Viseu dinner of local specialties and wine at Forno da Mimi restaurant. (Breakfast and Dinner)
- Day 7 VISEU-BELMONTE-CASTELO DE VIDE - EVORA: Visit the Jewish Museum in Belmonte. Enjoy an olive oil tasting. Tour the Jewish Quarter in Castelo De Vide and visit a traditional cork factory in Evora. (Breakfast and Dinner)

Day 8 EVORA - ALGARVE: Guided walking tour of Evora. Algarve free-time late afternoon and evening. (Breakfast)
- Day 9 ALGARVE COASTAL EXCURSION: This day is all about Cliffs and Coastlines. Join an excursion to the Promontory of Sagres, Cape St. Vincent, and Lagos (Breakfast)
- Day 10 ALGARVE - AZEITÃO - LISBON: A scenic drive along the Serra da Arrábida with views of the Tróia Peninsula. Enjoy a farewell dinner at your hotel in Lisbon. (Breakfast and Dinner)
- Day 11 LISBON: Your tour ends with breakfast in the morning. Safe travels home. Until we meet again.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL:
A valid passport with an expiration date that is at least 6 months beyond the end date of this trip is required (i.e. have an expiration of Mar 1, 2025 or beyond).
A new European Union ETIAS Travel authorization for visa-exempt travelers to enter Europe (coming in 2024). Details are not available at this time.
Travelers planning overseas trips are responsible for knowing the rules for entering the countries they want to visit. A good source of up-to-date information about passport validity is the U.S. Department of State's travel website (travel.state.gov), which lists entry requirements by country. Would-be travelers should also consult the Portugal embassy websites.
Cancellation Penalties:
All cancellations or traveler-requested changes will incur a $55 cancelation/ change fee payable to Relaxed Escapes included in the Cancellation Fee schedule described below
The $250 deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable if you cancel after 11/17/2023.

Responsibility:
Relaxed Escapes Travel Consultants, LLC (Relaxed Escapes) will not be responsible for any damages or inconvenience caused by late arrivals, departures and change of schedule or other conditions nor will they be responsible for any act, omission, or event during the time the passenger is not on board their conveyance. The passage contract in use by the airline concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airline and the purchaser of this tour/cruise, and/or passenger. Relaxed Escapes does not hold any responsibility for the conduct of any hotel, motorcoach, cruiseline, train, airline or other personnel. Relaxed Escapes reserves the right to decline, accept or retain any person as a member of a tour/cruise at its discretion. Globus &/or its Tour Director retain the right to require any participant to withdraw from a tour/cruise at any time, if determined to be in the best interests of health, safety & general welfare of the tour/cruise group or of the individual participant. Arbitration- I/We agree, any and all disputes concerning this contract or any other material concerning the trip, or the trip itself must be resolved exclusively pursuant to binding arbitration in the state of California, pursuant to the then current rules of the American Arbitration Association. Payment of the deposit for this tour/cruise constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
