Get to Know Carnival Sunshine

Everything the sunlight touches on Carnival Sunshine has been doused with an extra dose of fun. There's plenty to find atop this ship, where you can spend your days being kissed by the warm rays of the sun. Visit the biggest Serenity area ever, featuring three decks, plenty of recliners... and even a waterfall. Carnival WaterWorks, our onboard waterpark, doesn't just deliver the favorites... this one debuted the slick Speedway Splash slide. There's also SportSquare, where you can let your inner champion run free (around the jogging track), traverse the Ropes Course high up above, or even engage in a little one-on-one, from ping pong to foosball to giant chess.

When you're on your Carnival Sunshine cruise, step out of the sun and try out some shade (and it's some pretty cool shade, at that). The first thing you'll see is the Sunshine Atrium... and let's just say first impressions count. From there, check out dining options — this ship has everything under the Carnival sun — like Guy's Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse and JiJi Asian Kitchen®. Some of the greatest Carnival bars are here: RedFrog Pub®, BlueIguana Tequila Bar, SkyBox Sports Bar and Alchemy Bar®... plus the already-classic Havana Bar! You'll enjoy musical revues from Playlist Productions, where songs you know and love come to life on stage.

When you find yourself between the Carnival Sunshine and some actual sunshine, fun at sea is guaranteed.

The largest Navy Base in the world located in Norfolk

Day 1: Norfolk

Departs at 4:30 PM

If you live in the Mid-Atlantic area, might we suggest one of our cruises from Norfolk? Set sail, as thousands of seafaring Americans have, when you book a Carnival cruise from the 400-year-old seaport of Norfolk. The city is today the proud home of a sparkling waterfront filled with green parks, lively shopping malls, delicious restaurants… and even fascinating maritime museums and monuments. Before you cruise from Norfolk, you’ll find yourself near two colonial villages — Colonial Williamsburg and Olde Towne Portsmouth — plus miles of beaches, and a blooming botanical garden. So definitely make time to explore before your cruise from Virginia, and round out your vacation with some history and picturesque sightseeing. Cruises from Norfolk also come with serious seafaring credentials — the city is home to one of the best maritime academies in the country.

  • Watch artisans blow glass at the Chrysler Museum of Art.
  • Take a ferry to colonial Olde Towne Portsmouth village.
  • Tour the Norfolk waterfront by boat from the NAUTICUS museum.
  • Search for antique jewelry and furniture in the Ghent neighborhood.

Day 2: Fun Day at Sea

No port today! It’s a great time to explore your ship and its exciting entertainment, food and activities! Or take it easy at the pool, spa, or... if you book a room with a balcony, enjoy the waves.

Day 3: Celebration Key™

12:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Now — for the first time ever! — we're building a new destination from the ground-up. And this one, nestled on the south side of Grand Bahama island, is designed exclusively for Carnival guests. It's perfect for adults, families with kids… everybody who appreciates fun and exploring natural beauty.

What you'll find there is just like Carnival's onboard vibe that folks love. When your ship pulls up, the vacation possibilities are expanded with unique island-style fun, relaxation and adventure spread across 65 acres and five “portals” for you to explore. Each portal is distinctly different, made for another side of Carnival fun… plus get ready for unforgettable experiences like a mile-long white sand beach, the largest freshwater lagoons in the Caribbean, local Bahamian flavors and shopping, an adult-only beach club, plus excursions and more.

Celebration Key™ opens in summer 2025, but look for more details soon!

Based on publicly available data of surface area measurements as of 01/22/24.
  • Paradise Plaza greets you with live music and helps you find your way to all the fun that’s still to come… like maybe that Suncastle in the distance?
  • The atmosphere at Calypso Lagoon is lively… and chill! This portal is designed for adults and features a swim-up bar, dining spots, a DJ island, plus plenty of ways to relax.
  • Starfish Lagoon is perfect for kids, teens and families, featuring a splash pad, sports courts, designated beach, dining spots, game pavilion and more.
  • Pearl Cove Beach Club is the adults-only spot that takes luxury to the next level with an infinity pool, private beach access, elevated dining, the best views of Bahamian waters and more.
  • The Retail Portal, known as Lokono Cove, is a colorful showcase of Bahamian culture featuring local art, live music and flavors, plus artisanal goods, duty-free jewelry and more great shopping.

Day 4: Nassau

10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Sightseeing, swimming and soaking up the island flavor — it's all yours for the taking on a Carnival cruise to Nassau, Bahamas. Boasting balmy breezes and jumping to a bouncy calypso beat, Nassau promises sizzling fun in the sun. The historic and cultural heart of The Bahamas is one of the world’s most popular cruise destinations — one million travelers board cruises to Nassau every year. Carnival guests come for fine beaches, shopping, water sports, and fun-filled attractions at the Atlantis Resort, connected to Nassau by a bridge to Paradise Island. Throw in a chance to swim with dolphins, or do a little slipping and sliding at a water park, and it's clear what makes Nassau a top spot for cruisers of all ages.

  • Shop the straw market for cute and kitschy crafts.
  • Pose for the classic ‘dolphin kiss’ during a private island swim with the dolphins.
  • Relax on the white sands of a private island.
  • Stroll 18th-century colonial streets and climb the sandstone Queen’s Staircase.

Day 5: Bimini

7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Are there words more fun to say than “I’m cruising to Bimini!”? The name rolls off the tongue delightfully, for sure… but the whole phrase means you’re in for a beautiful, uniquely chill time in this island chain. The center of the action is Alice Town, though “action” is relative when it comes to these westernmost islands of The Bahamas. The local aesthetics, however, will take your breath away — and fishing, diving and relaxing on a beach are a few of the choice activities for experiencing the naturally azure waters surrounding Bimini, which are great enjoyed from a distance or up-close!

HOW DO GRATUITIES WORK ON A CARNIVAL CRUISE?

The staff on your cruise works hard to make fun happen for you, and Carnival guests show their appreciation by tipping. Stateroom attendants, waitstaff and other folks you’ll see throughout your cruise appreciate the tips they receive, as do employees working hard behind the scenes to make your cruise amazing!

The easiest way to show you care is through automatic gratuities. This is great because it makes sure nobody’s efforts are forgotten. When booking, these tips can be automatically applied with a click!

OKAY, HOW MUCH?
Tips are on a per-guest basis, at the following rate:
  • Standard Staterooms: $16 USD per guest, per day
  • Suite Staterooms: $18 USD per guest, per day
(Remember that these figures are for everyone who helps you, throughout your cruise!)
MORE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT TIPPING
  • Tips are assessed for all guests ages 2 and up.
  • A service charge of 18% will be added to your bill at Bonsai Sushi, Bonsai Teppanyaki, Chef’s Table, Emeril’s Bistro, Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse and Seafood Shack. Additional gratuities can be added at your discretion.
  • When ordering room service, tipping is encouraged upon delivery.
  • Tips are not included in the menu price of beverages — an 18% service charge will be added to the bill, and additional gratuities can be added at your discretion.
