Itinerary:

• Day 1  (August 18, 2021): Depart Boston at 10:45 PM on KLM airlines on a direct flight to Reykjavik, Iceland 

• Day 2 (August 19, 2021): Arrive Reykjavik Iceland at 7:45 AM .  Shared Transportation provided to downtown Hotel.  Join the group in a local cafe for breakfast and enjoy a little sightseeing while you await check in to your hotel room (early check in's may be requested but not guaranteed).  After enjoying a few hours nap, or relaxing in the hotels hot tub or sauna, join the group in taking a late afternoon walk to the harbor, check out some sights and enjoy some of Iceland's signature soup and fish dishes.  (optional)  
• Day3 (August 20, 2021):  Full day Golden Circle Tour:  Enter UNESCO-listed Thingvellir Park and observe the geological rift where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Gaze at the ridges of the two continents, and see Althing, site of the world’s first parliamentary gathering in 930 AD. Stop to admire the two-tier falls of Gullfoss, whose name means ‘Golden Falls,’ and be sure to capture photos of the cascades as they plunge into a gorge.  Visit Geysir, an active geothermal area of bubbling springs and geysers. Walk around the pools and see the mighty Strokkur geyser erupt, shooting high into the air every few minutes.  Included transportation from your hotel, snacks, and WIFI on board because you are going to want to insta these views!!  Meet the group for late dinner (not included) or have dinner on your on own at one of the many walkable Icelandic restaurants and bars.
• Day 4: (August 21, 2021): Today is a day to relax...or not!  Come with us on a Reykjavik walk to see the sights, taste the food, and visit the Kolaportid Flea Market to pick up some hand made Icelandic wool sweaters and other goodies. 
• Day 5 (August 22, 2021): This is a once in a lifetime chance to visit an erupting volcano!  

  Geldingadalir Eruption and Reykjanes Full-Day Volcanic Tour  After complimentary pick up service we will take you on a scenic drive along the lava shaped coast towards the first stop. Under the care of our experienced guide you will follow the trail leading to the Geldingadalir Valley. After around 45 minutes of hike the Fagradalsfjall Mountain will arise on the horizon offering you an amazing view over the volcanic crater throwing lava up to the height of 100 meters! But we will not stop there – we will take you as close as possible to witness the real spectacle of the nature. Active eruption site is ever-changing, meaning that on each and every day new and stunning events occur. Aside from live show of lava flow filling up the valley, you can witness lava rivers and small waterfalls and even lava pools! The total time spent here is between 4-5 hours, including 3.5 kilometer long hike (one way).  You will also see Geldingadalur waterfall, Gunnuhver Hot Springs, Valahnúkamöl – stunning bird cliffs and basalt columns rising from the sea, and finally a relaxing stop at the Blue Lagoon where you can soak your cares away in a stunning geothermal spa.  (Admission ticket to the Blue Lagoon must be purchased separately and will cost approximately $60pp depending on the package chosen and includes a cocktail, towel, and facial mask. 

  
  

  Day 6 (August 23, 2021): South Tour of Iceland: Glaciers, Waterfalls, and Black Beaches

  Marvel at the natural splendor of Iceland’s South Coast on an exhilarating full-day tour from Reykjavik. Gaze at the magnificent Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls; absorb the frozen witchery of the Solheimajökull Glacier; and see the alluring black sands of Reynisfjara’s shore
  

  
  

  
  

  Day 7 (August 24, 2021) Today we will sadly return home.  Shared transfer will pick you up for your return trip to Boston.
