The Outlander Immersion Tours of Scotland are small group, 7 passenger 8 night (including hotels, entrance fees and 5* Scottish guides) total immersions into the spectacular sights & scenery of the Outlander TV Series and of Diana Gabaldon's original Outlander book series. This tour also includes a performance by "The Bard" (if available) from Castle Leoch and then period costumes on the final day.

  • Filming sites in Glasgow such as Glasgow Cathedral, George Square, Pollok Country Park, Glasgow University, and Kelvingrove Park (including a 2 day hop-on hop-off bus pass)
  • Private performance by Gwyllyn the Bard from the TV Series
  • Film Locations for Castle Leoch, Inverness, Cranesmuir
  • Craigh na Dun & the village of "Rent"
  • Culloden Battlefield & Clava Cairns Standing Stones
  • Lallybroch & the fiendish Fort William
  • Loch Ness, Glen Affric, Beauly Priory
  • Charming Glenelg community ferry to take "Over the Sea to Sky"
  • Period costumes for guided walking tour of the Royal Mile
  • 3 dinners and 7 breakfasts & Scottish Heritage Pass.


What's not included:

  • Airfare is not included. See my blog about Booking Flights for tips.
  • Arrival or departure transfers (but these can be added for an additional charge)
  • Lunches and Dinners except the 3 dinners included in your itinerary
  • Porterage of suitcases at hotels, airports, bus or rail stations.  See my blog about packing light
  • Luggage allowance is one medium sized suitcase and one tote or daypack per person. Additional luggage should be arranged in advance.
  • Tips for guides and other services
  • Edinburgh Castle is not included in the tour. You would need to stay an extra day at the end to see it. Tickets need to be purchased ahead of time and can be purchased here.



  • Day 1-2 (Glasgow): Arrive Glasgow and transfer to your pre-booked accommodations.   2 day hop-on hop-off bus pass plus included dinner & performance by the Bard.
  • Day 3 (to Aberfeldy): Journey begins - Film locations for Castle Leoch (Doune Castle), Cranesmuir (Culross),  and Inverness (Falkland)
  • Day 4 (to Inverness): The TV location of Craigh na Dun, 'Rent', Culloden Battlefield, and Clava Cairns Standing Stones
  • Day 5 (near Inverness):  Loch Ness, Glen Affric, Beauly & Beauly Priory, and 'Lallybroch' (from the book)
  • Day 6 (near Inverness):  Dundreggan, 'St Kilda', 2 Brochs, Ferry to Sky and Loch Garve
  • Day 7 (to Edinburgh):  'Lallybroch' (from the TV Series), two filming sites that were used for Fort William
  • Day 8 (Edinburgh): Costume Shop, Walking Tour of the Royal Mile
  • Day 9  (Edinburgh): Tour Ends After Breakfast

Up to 121 days prior to departure:    $500 non-refundable deposit + any supplier fees

120 to 61 days prior to departure:    $500 non-refundable deposit +$300 per person + any supplier fees

60 to 46 days prior to departure:     80% of land package + 100% of air + any supplier fees

45 days or less prior to departure:   100% of land package + 100% of air + any supplier fees
