Day 1: Porto, Portugal
Embarkation
Board the luxurious AmaVida in Porto, the "City of Bridges." Settle into your stateroom and prepare for an unforgettable journey along the Douro River. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner and meet your fellow travelers.

Day 2: Porto
City Tour and Port Wine Tasting
Explore Porto's historic quarter, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Cathedral, the bustling main square, and the São Bento Railway Station, renowned for its blue and white tile panels. For active travelers, a guided hike through the medieval streets of Porto is available. In the afternoon, indulge in a tasting of Port, Portugal's most famous wine.

Day 3: Entre-os-Rios
Traditional "Home-Cooked" Meal
Sail to Entre-os-Rios, situated at the confluence of the Tâmega and Douro rivers. Experience authentic Douro River life with a traditional meal at a local quinta, offering a taste of regional flavors and hospitality.

Day 4: Régua
Mateus Palace & Gardens Excursion
Discover the Baroque beauty of Mateus Palace and its stunning gardens. Inside, admire 16th- to 18th-century furnishings and intricate wood-carved ceilings. Learn about the history of Mateus Rosé Wine and stroll through some of Portugal's most beautiful gardens.

Day 5: Régua – Pinhão
Lamego City Tour and Wine Tasting
Visit the town of Lamego and see the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies. Choose between a city tour or a climb up the 686-step "Holy Staircase," adorned with blue and white tiles. Both options conclude with a tasting of local specialties, including Bôlas de Lamego (smoked ham bread), Presunto (dry-cured ham), and Espumante (Portuguese sparkling wine). Later, cruise to Pinhão for a wine tasting at a local quinta.

Day 7: Pinhão – Barca d’Alva
Castelo Rodrigo Tour with Regional Fare Tasting

Day 8: Vega de Terrón, Spain
Disembarkation
Disembark in Vega de Terrón as your enriching journey through Portugal and Spain concludes. Bid farewell to the AmaVida and your fellow travelers, taking with you memories of the Douro's flavors and landscapes.


 

Cancellation policy:

In the unfortunate even that you must cancel, notice must be made to Asia Lantz during standard business hours or via email to explore@travelwithasia.com which must include writing stating clearly and correctly each guest's name, ship name, start and end date of the cruise & a brief statement of the reason for cancellation. 
 
Cancellation charges are per person, based on the cancellation date as seen below: 
 
  • 121+ days prior to departure: $200 per person 
  • 120-90 days prior to departure: $400 per person 
  • 89-60 days prior to departure: 35% of cruise and land price
  • 59-31 days prior to departure: 50% of cruise and land price
  • 30 days to 25 hours prior to departure: 100% of cruise and land price
  • 24 hours or less: 100% of cruise and land price
