For 52 straight years, renowned adventurer and food blogger, the BaconMedic, searched for the ideal venue to celebrate the anniversary of his entrance into the world. Finally, Sir Richard Branson solved his problem: The Scarlet Lady! Join him March 4-9, 2022 (with optional Hotel Stay in Miami on March 3) as he hits the high seas on the coolest ship on waves as he travels to the Dominican Republic and Sir Richard's private Bimini Beach Club! This is a birthday party you dont want to miss!
 
Join us for 5 nights onboard the brand new Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady as we sail to the snow-white shores of the Dominican Republic from 9am to 6pm, for plenty of time to lay by the beach and explore the city streets. Add a full day and night (9am to 10pm) spent at the exclusive Beach Club in Bimini, Bahamas, complete with a bonfire party under the stars.  Join us for a group excursion in Puerto Plata or feel free to explore on your own (pre-arranged "Shore Things" are available), as well as a celebratory party by the pool in Bimini!!

Itinerary:

 
  • Day 1 Optional (Miami):  Arrive at your Miami Hotel a day in advance (recommended during winter).  We will be reserving a block of rooms at a Miami Hotel.
  • Day 2 (Miami): You will be given a boarding time beginning at 2pm in which you will board the ship at the Port of Miami.  Ship departs at 7 after a sail away party on deck!
  • Day 3 (Sailing): Explore everything this cool ship has to offer.  Hit the spa, party at the pool,  hit the gym,  join a yoga, barre, or HITT class.  You can also play at the free retro arcade, discover a quiet nook for a read, or even attend high tea!  A day at sea on Virgin Voyages is anything but boring!
  • Day 4 (Puerto Plata): Explore the city
  • Day 5 (Sailing):  A day on the ship for all of those things you didn't get to yet!  Maybe visit the tatoo parlor for a serious souvinier!  
  •  Day 6 (Beach Club at Bimini):  Get your beach on, hang by the two pools, do a bit of yoga or schedule an off site Shore Thing!
  • Day 7 (Miami):  A sad day indeed.  Arrive at the pier at 6:30 am.

Bimini:
It isn’t just the impossibly neon turquoise water, or the seemingly unperturbed beaches that coyly dance with the waves that make Bimini so enticing. Sitting on the westernmost part of the Bahamian Islands, Bimini is the far less-visited port home to a decidedly more intimate and visceral heartbeat.
 
Beyond the quiet beach moments or the adrenaline-inducing shark dives, the three islands that unite to make Bimini are drenched in rich cultural history — where the conch is so fresh you taste the path from which you came, natural watering holes are rumored to have the power to heal, and nights end next to bonfires under star-kissed skies.
 
Rent a cabana for the day by the pool or the beach, take a cultural tour or sunset cruise, dive or snorkel a shipwreck, swim with wild dolfins in their natural habitat, rent a kayak, get up close and personal with stingrays or even SHARKS.  
 
 
 
Puerto Plata: 
 
Tucked between the Cordillera Mountains and the Atlantic coast, this charming Dominican port embodies geographical duality at its best.  With its silver fog covering the mountain tops and shining coastline by the sea, Puerto Plata earned its name as the Port of Silver. Its lush mountains and rushing waterfalls dare adventurers to explore more, while its sandy beaches and colorful cityscape lure in sightseers to slow down.  Soar up to the top of the Pico Isabel de Torres to get a bird's eye view of Puerto Plata or stroll by the Malecón at sea level. The technicolor Victorian facades, colonial homes and the 16th-century Fortaleza San Felipe will turn any regular Joe (or Joanna) into an architecture aficionado. On top of the sights, the Dominican Republic’s rum, cigars and cuisine keep you coming back for more (and a second serving). But, settling on a day lying on the beach is perfectly ok, too.  Optional Shore things include exploring an eco-park 300 meters above sea level via cable car, traverse across dirt roads on a 2 seater buggy to find the Waterfalls of Damajagua, work with a womens co-op to recycle paper, attend a rum tasting or relax on a kayak and horseback adventure.  The port town that was once plagued by pirates now shines as a destination with rhythm, color and soul. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie or beach bum, Puerto Plata has something in store for you — even if you prefer to look at bugs trapped in ancient amber (yes, seriously, visit the Amber Museum). The flavors of Dominican coffee, rum and mamajuana — the D.R.’s sweet rum and wine concoction will linger on your taste buds until you return to the lush mountain tops and snow-like powdered beaches to experience it all over again.

Cancellation policy:

Virgin Voyages offers the most fair and flexible booking policies in the industry.  For a limited time, bookings made on or before  December 8, 2021, for sailings through May 2, 2022, are able to take advantage of our flexible booking policy — which allows for cancellations up to 15 days before the voyage date to receive 100% Future Voyage Credit.  - You have the most flexibility outside of 120 days prior to your voyage. If you're booking at this time, you have a 7-day grace period to request a full refund on your deposit and any other payments made. Refunds will be issued to your original form of payment.

- After the grace period (but still before the 120-day mark), you can receive a full refund on any payments, not including your deposit. For your deposit, you can request a Future Voyage Credit at this time.

- Between 119 and 45 days, any funds paid will be converted to Future Voyage Credit, good to use on any voyage 1 year from the original voyage start date. Sweet deal, huh?

- Within 44 days of your voyage, all funds paid are final. But you do have the option to send a mate in your place up to 48 hours before your voyage, if you really can't sail.
