Itinerary:

  • Day 1 (Bogota):  Arrive on your schedule and be greeted by a personal driver awaiting to assist you and transfer you to your accommodation located in the safe and discreet La Cabrera neighborhood of north Bogotá. You can settle in, meet up with some of the group at your leisure, and do what you need to do to refresh from your flights and get ready for your exciting week to come.  Your hotel includes a heated rooftop pool with panoramic views, a spa, a fully equipped fitness center and a steam room and hammam on the lower level as well as a bar and well-regarded restaurant onsite.  Tonight we have an included Welcome Dinner to meet your fellow travelers and get acquainted with Bogotá.

  • Day 2 (Bogotá):  We start our day with a historic Bogotá  city tour.  Our local, bilingual tour guide will meet us at the hotel and show us Colombia's largest city and one of Latin America's premier capitals of art and culture.  A cable car up el Cerro de Monserrate reveals the most spectacular views of Bogotá and a walk through the city center lets you explore La Candelaria, Colombia's oldest neighborhood.  If you're feeling up to it, you may want to end the tour at the spectacular Museo del Oro (Gold Museum), featuring the world's biggest collection of pre-Columbia gold and other metals.  There will be some time back at the hotel to get ready for an unforgettable NightOUT in the city that culminates with the ultimate party experience at Theatron - a colossal nightclub boasting over 15 different ambiences, making it one of the largest, if not the largest, nightclub on the planet!  That is just the culmination to your dive into Bogotá's vibrant nightlife with exploration of at least three of the city's most happening venues, from bustling dance floors to cozy cocktail corners.

  • Day 3 (Bogotá ): Start your day with a coffee tasting experience that explores the exceptional quality of Colombian Arabica coffee beans. We'll discover how 550,000 coffee-growing families meticulously hand-harvest the beans and each step of the process that contributes to Colombia's esteemed status as the world's third-largest coffee producer. Today we will follow our tasting with an included group lunch and then have an evening free to explore, or revisit some of your favorite parts of Bogotá before we leave this dynamic city.

  • Day 4 (Cartagena): Your private transfer to the airport will pick you up at your hotel and ensure you are there in plenty of time for your included flight to Cartagena.  In the beautiful Caribbean coastal city of Cartagena, you will stay in a boutique hotel in Getsemani.  We'll start our time in this unforgettable city with an exclusive rum and chocolate tasting experience with on of the city's top-rated mixology teams.  Dinner is on your own but the restaurant at your hotel is a gastronomic must.

  • Day 5 (Cartagena):  Another full day starts with a walking tour of the historic walled city of Cartagena.  We'll see the incredible history and local culture, like the massive 16th-century Castle of San Felipe de Baraias, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Colombia's Seven Wonders.  There will be an opportunity to visit the Convento de la Popa that sits at the highest point of Cartagena.  At the end of the tour we have a 3 course dining experience at an award-wining experimental restaurant focused on the gastronomic history and biodiversity of Colombian Caribbean - using product of a crossbreeding of cultures that arrived in Caribbean hudnreds of years ago - Spanish, African, Syrian and Lebanese, but also indigenous people who inhabited the area long before.  The remainder of the day belongs to you.

  • Day 6 (Cartagena):  Experience the ultimate day excursion on a secluded island paradise just 15 minutes from Cartagena. Begin your adventure with convenient pickup from your hotel in private transportation and head to the pier. From there, board a speedy boat for a short and exhilarating ride to your private beach club.  Upon arrival, bask in the splendor of a natural setting surrounded by tropical gardens and the sounds of turquoise waters. Relax poolside or on the beach and savor exquisite cuisine with a breathtaking view, including lunch and three refreshing cocktails included in your package. You can also indulge in a spa service, where you'll receive a five-star treatment that will leave you feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.

  • Day 7 (Medellin):  Today your private transfers and in-country flights will take you back south to Medellin.  You will check in to a hip, design adult playground in the trendy Provenza/El Poblado area of Medellin, the most walkable neighborhood in the city, with an array of restaurants, bars, nightlife and green spaces to tempt you.  An art gallery, shops, cafes and restaurants on the lower level and two rooftop bars, a pool and stunning views up top ensure that even time at the hotel will be Colombian and relaxing.  Tonight we DineOUT at a special private dinner planned just for us.  We'll head to an undisclosed location where we will mix and mingle with local LGBTQ community members, activists and leaders.  Chef Esteban will prepare a delicious dinner for us, and welcome cocktails will get it all started.

  • Day 8 (Medellin):  A popular weekend destination for Colombians, Guatape is known as Colombia's most colorful town, full of just-as-colorful handcrafts and charming residents.  A full day excursion includes a stop at Penol Boulder, a 200-meter-high monolith that can be climbed with a staircase of 740 steps for breathtaking views over green mountains and blue lakes.  From there will you take you to an upscale glamping site, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch alongside the lakes. After lunch, you'll cruise on a motorboat for an hour to see the beautiful islands and the impressive country homes that line their coasts.  Back on land, explore the pretty, cobblestoned streets and alleyways of Guatapé. Learn a bit of its history, reconstruction, its zocalo friezes, or visit some of the shops along the way.

  • Day 9 (Medellin):  Today starts with a Medellin Transformation Tour, starting from the industrial revolution to the dark days of the 80's and 90's  The tour focuses on the importance of architecture and transit here and the roles they - as well as the LGBTQ community - have played in transforming Medellin into one of the world's most promising and innovative cities.  You’ll walk through the brilliant Parque de las Luces and Parque Berrio/Plaza Botero, and visit the Museum of Antioquia, which is full of sculptures, paintings, and drawings donated by Botero to his home city. As you continue, you’ll be able to browse traditional handicrafts and souvenirs at a local market, and pass flower-lined streets and parks. Before enjoying a traditional lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll have the option to visit the government-funded LGBTQ community center for a quick tour of the facility, if available.
In the afternoon, you’ll get to know Medellin’s violent past, understand its bright present and promising future as you tour the infamous Comuna 13. This was the most dangerous barrio in what was then the most dangerous city in the world. There you’ll interact with the community, learn how community members used graffiti to tell their stories, and witness firsthand how public projects. like the electronic escalators on the mountainside, helped transform the neighborhood. A group dinner tonight will celebrate our last night of the amazing trip, followed by a last hurrah with our NightOUT in Medellin.

  • Day 10 (return home):  Private transfers will be provided from your hotel to the airport for your return flights.  We hope you fly home with that perfect mix of mildly worn out from such an exciting week, but also rejuvenated, heart expanded, connected into yourself and the goodness of new experiences and new friendships.
