Join Travel With A Tribe for The Tribe: Sipping Through Portugal — a 9-day journey through some of Europe's most breathtaking landscapes, vibrant cities, and world-renowned wine regions. From sipping Port wine in the ancient cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia to watching the sun melt into the Atlantic from a private beach in the Algarve, every moment of this trip was designed with you in mind. We'll explore cobblestone streets, eat our way through Lisbon's historic neighborhoods, and raise a glass in the rolling vineyards of the Douro Valley — because the best travel memories are always made with good people and great wine. Rooms are shared on a double occupancy basis. If you would like to share a room with a friend or family member, please let me know.

 

Flight/Airport Information:

  • You should arrive at Francisco Sa Carneiro Airport in Porto (Airport Code: OPO).
  • Depart from Faro International Airport near the Algarve Region (Airport Code: FAO).
  • Please try to arrive before 3 pm, so you have time to relax before the Welcome Dinner.
  • Please note that if you are flying from the United States, you may need to book your flight at least 1 day before September 26, 2026, as travel time to Portugal can take 12-15 hours with a layover (depending on your departure city).
 
Please note that you will fly into Francisco Sa Carneiro Airport in Porto & return home using Faro International Airport 
 
Airport Transportation:
  • You will be greeted at the airport upon arrival, and group transfers will be arranged to accommodate everyone's arrival time.
  • If your arrival time is within 30 minutes to an hour of another traveler(s), please be prepared to wait: this will save on multiple trips and get everyone to the hotel at the same time.
 
The same coordination will be arranged for departure as well.

Day 1 - September 26, 2026: Welcome to Porto, Portugal
Arrive in Porto and check into your charming riverside boutique hotel.
Spend your first evening immersed in the soul of Portugal with a Fado music performance & wine tasting 
in an atmospheric stone wine cellar. Sip exquisite Portuguese wines as the haunting melodies of fado fill the room.
(Fado Music Performance & Wine Tasting may happen on Day 2)

Day 2 - September 27, 2026: Porto
Hop aboard your private Tuk Tuk for a scenic 2-hour ride through Porto's iconic streets and across the Douro River.
Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Serra do Pilar Monastery, the historic Port wine cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia,
 and soak in panoramic views of the city's breathtaking bridges.
After our tour, feel free to relax at the hotel or
explore at your own leisure.

Day 3 - September 28, 2026: Porto
Escape the city for a full-day private journey through the Douro Valley —
one of the world's most stunning wine regions.
Visit two renowned wine estates, stop at scenic viewpoints (miradouros),
cruise along the Douro River, and enjoy a traditional Portuguese lunch in the charming village of Pinhão.

Day 4 - September 29, 2026: Lisbon
Today we travel to Lisbon, Portugal's vibrant capital!
We'll check into our hotel and relax or explore the city before we
kick things off with the Lisbon Foodies Walk — a 4-hour culinary adventure through the historic streets of Mouraria and downtown Lisbon. Taste cod fritters, pork sandwiches, Portuguese soup, custard tarts, Port wine, and more!
Travel time to Lisbon is about a 3 hour drive

Day 5 - September 30, 2026: Lisbon
A fairytale day out! Explore the magical UNESCO village of Sintra,
visit the Sintra National Palace (entrance included), then head to Cabo da Roca —
The westernmost point of continental Europe.
End with a scenic coastal drive through the elegant seaside town of Cascais.

Day 6 - October 1, 2026: Algarve Coast
Today we'll travel to Albufeira, the southern part of the Algarve Coast.
We'll check into our hotel, relax, or explore the town

The time to travel to Albufeira is about 2.5 hours

Day 7 - October 2, 2026: Algarve Coast 
 Today, we set sail along
the Algarve's dramatic coastline for a 6-hour sunset boat experience.
Explore sea caves, including the famous Benagil Cave, and disembark on a private beach, 
and enjoy a delicious beachside BBQ dinner with live music or
a DJ performance as the sun dips below the Atlantic.
(Sunset Boat Dinner may happen on Day 8)

Day 8 - October 3, 2026: Algarve Coast
Shop like a local at the vibrant Loulé Saturday Market,
then head to the kitchen for a hands-on Portuguese cooking class.
Learn to prepare the iconic Cataplana — Algarve's most celebrated dish —
from local experts. Cook, eat, and savor every bite!
(Cooking Class may happen on Day 7; it will be based on the Market food choice availability for the class)

Day 9 - October 4, 2026: Farewell, Portugal!
Soak up your final morning in the Algarve. Say your goodbyes, relive the memories,
and head to the airport with a heart full of Portuguese culture, food, and sunshine.

Cancellation policy:

Understand that all payments made to TRAVEL WITH A TRIBE LLC are non-refundable, and once the booking is made, it cannot be refunded under any circumstances.  This Policy is in place due to the pre-arrangement and bookings made in advance that are non-recoverable for TRAVEL WITH A TRIBE LLC.  Please read the Terms and Conditions (under Payment Information) for the Cancellation Policy. I strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers non-refundable trip cancellations, as this may protect you against unexpected circumstances that may cause you to cancel your trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many spots are available? This is an intentionally small group experience. We cap our trips at 6-8 travelers to ensure an intimate, personalized experience for everyone.

Do I need travel insurance? Yes — travel insurance is recommended for all Travel With A Tribe trips. We recommend purchasing your policy within 14 days of paying your deposit for maximum coverage.

Do I need a visa to visit Portugal? US citizens do not need a visa for Portugal for stays of up to 90 days. If you hold a different passport, please check your country's specific requirements.

What is the cancellation policy? The $500 deposit is non-refundable. Cancellations made before the trip are non-refundable; however, if you can find a replacement, it could be an option (Please see the Travel Agreement).  We strongly recommend travel insurance to protect your investment.

Can I room with a friend? Absolutely! Select double occupancy at checkout, and include your roommate's name in the booking form. Single occupancy can be made available upon request and subject to availability. Please reach out to info@travelwithatribe.com for more information and pricing.

What if I have dietary restrictions? No problem at all. Please note any dietary needs in your booking form, and we will do our best to accommodate you throughout the trip.
